I'm interested in this torrent stuff, but am a total newbie.

I've tried to read some stuff on the net about torrents and such, but it seems pretty vague.
All I've gathered is that I need a client program to make it work...and there's a quite a selection to choose from...

Can someone give me the rundown on how I can get into this torrent stuff....?

I've debated this very issue for some time.

As long as the original versions of the OT are remastered, digitized and released onto DVD or whatever modern format is available at the time, I do not care what changes Lucas makes to the OT. I will still debate those changes simply because many of them don't make any sense (Greedo and Jabba scenes, for example).

That said, I have long thought that Lucas should go back to the original principal photography footage of the OT and re-do all the special effects from scratch. Spruce up the footage with the actors, but completely re-work and re-do any special effects shots.

Like completely re-do the Battle Of Yavin with new effects and make it work around the existing actor footage. Then, have John Williams re-record and update the score to ANH. That's the only one that needs it IMHO.

Would I be interested in seeing this? HELL YEAH!!! It could prove exciting. But as long as there is no OOT available, I won't support any changes, nor would I give any money for such an endeavor.

Well, Lucas has said that it will take place between 3 and 4. It will feature characters we have already seen in the prequels, but were not main characters (actually, Lucas was vague about this, so it might still be up in the air).

Considering what happened in Episode 3, it was mentioned that there were Jedi spread out all over the galaxy. Anakin and the clones turned on that recall signal to bring all the remaining Jedi to Coruscant so they can wipe them out. Yoda and Obi-Wan took care of the signal, so some of the Jedi most definitely survived. Their survival (and subsequent extermination) is probably what the series will be about.

It might be pretty interesting....if Lucas doesn't fuck it up. He has said that it will be character-driven. Considering his "skills" at writing, I don't have much faith already. Lucas said he will write and oversee the first season of the show....sort of get it going. Then he's going to hand it off to someone else. And that will probably be the end of his direct involvement with Star Wars.

I kinda figured that whoever the bad guys were would be the ones using the clones.

And the Jedi would lead host of armies from planets from all over the galaxy. Jedi leading wookiees, ithorians, mon calamari and so forth.

When you think about that, that sounds like one kickass idea......and then it makes you wonder why I came up with it and not LucASS!!!!

Word is there will be plenty of deleted scenes on the DVD.

But you are right, that Qui-Gon scene NEEDED to be in there. The whole explanation about how the Jedi disappear was way too short and way too vague.

I think you're just pissed that someone can do a better job than you or your boss can!!!

Also, I hate it that your name is on the OT now.......you didn't work on it or contribute anything to it. All you did was supervise some lame ass effect shots that ruin the movie, not make it better.

You seem like a cool guy from all the interviews I've seen. There must be common sense in that noodle somewhere. Slip George some opium and tell him to change everything in the OT back.

Future generations will probably count it as one whole movie, but we, at this time, are just being partial.

DAMN!!! If only I had gotten to ask my question of Lucas at Celebration 3, I knew what the answer was going to be. I was more interested in the reaction. It would have told us scores about how Lucas really feels about us fans.

Considering they were screening questions, I think they're scared shitless of our type of fandom.

Like Boba Fett....he should have been given a more interesting death....so, I think it would have been awesome to have seen the Sarlacc blown up and out flys Boba. Then, him and Luke go at it where Luke takes him out.

I believe that was from the Bounty Hunter Wars books. Very cool idea.....and would have kicked ass on screen.

Imagine the people in the theater!!! He fucking blew up the damn thing from the INSIDE?!!?!?!?

Boba was cool going into ROTJ, but that would have raised him to godhood...even if he dies.

Here are my quick notes on what should be changed in TPM.

Anakin's backstory
Anakin is 15 years old and along with his family is a slave on Tatooine. His mother Shmu and brother Owen are servants of Watto. Anakin's father was killed in an attempt to free his family from slavery. Anakin witnessed this, so we see how he obviously has a darker side. Anakin longs to be free and roam the stars. Shmi encourages this, but knows that it is unlikely. Owen is 4 years older than Anakin and is already pretty set in his ways, believeing that his lot in life is to stay on Tatooine and make some sort of life for himself.

No midiclorians
We should just get an explanation that is on par with what Obi-Wan and Yoda explained win 4 and 5....just as was stated by Seiji above.

The prophecy
I initially didn't like this, but it has grown on me. So we will keep it.

Jar Jar
Jar Jar should not be some clumsy, stupid dumbass. He should be the Han Solo of the PT. Kind of a rogue player, who has a dubious side.
Sort of a combination of Lando and Han. Jar Jar is essential to the story though. He was able to bring in the Gungans for the final battle.

Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon
Both should be full Jedi Knights. And I think that the characters should be sort of reversed. Qui-Gon acted like how I thought Obi-Wan should have and so on. Obi-Wan should believe in Anakin from the get-go. In the finished film, Obi didn't seem to be on Anakin's side at all. This is also an opportunity to put a little discord into the ranks of the Jedi. In the EU, there was some kind of conflicting philosophy of the force....one was the Living Force and the other was the Unifying Force. One requires looking to the future a lot.....this would play right into Obi-Wan's character as Yoda described in ESB. "All his life as he looked away to the future...the horizon."

Padme
Padme should also be 15...the same age as Anakin. And they should be interested in each other from the start. Nuff said....we can build on that in the next episode....but the groundwork must be laid here in a believeable way. In the film, it is hard to believe that any kind of romantic love could be present or ever be present between a 14 year old girl and a 9 year old boy. Sorry...no way.

The blockade
I like the set up for this movie....which is just some elaborate plot for Palpy/Sidious to become Chancellor. The blockade works, but it need to be simplified and explained better.....more on this later.

What I plan to do...

Completely overhaul and re-work the prequels
Keep ANH the same.....but what do you guys think about taking the Death Star out and putting at the end of ROTJ. The Death Star battle should be the ultimate battle at the end of the whole saga.
Keep ESB the same....completely...too perfect already!!!
Change ROTJ.....Wookiees instead of Ewoks.....a longer fight after the sail barge between Luke and Boba Fett.....somehow work Leia into the duel on the Death Star.

Just some preliminary ideas.....what do you all think?
