A TV series WILL be the kiss of death for SW. I would bet a boatload of money on that. A TV show will turn SW into Star Trek which people will get tired of very, very fast.

Someone please explain to me why in the hell they didn't explain at the very least, the most important things in the MOVIES?

Leia remembering Padme, why Owen dislikes Obi-Wan, etc, etc.......shouldn't that sort of stuff be explained onscreen? Especially since it's already in the OT...

I never thought I'd ever heard myself say this out loud cuz I never thought it possible.......but I really wish that Star Wars would simply die cuz it has lost all its magic through poor writing, poor planning and poor execution.

Even if Lucas never releases the OOT, I just want it to die....I simply do not care anymore. It's ruined, so let's forget it. Just a cash cow. I'm making my own set of the OOT and I'm putting SW to rest permanently in my mind. I will skip over anything I hear or read.

Doesn't ANYONE in the whole Lucas organization see the cracks in the foundation here?

I think he has the right to blame whoever he wants.......he just shouldn't have run away like a sissy.

I was gonna stand up to Lucas at Celebration 3 and tell him that I wanted the OOT on DVD and that I think he's wrong for sitting on it like he does. I wouldn't have said that and ran out the door. No way. I was perfectly prepared to stand there and possibly be asked to leave. Wouldn't have bothered me in the least....point is I had my say and I didn't feel ashamed to say it. Even if it was something that's silly in the eyes of others.

If he had said Hayden....you didn't do so great in the prequels, what gives? Then maybe HC might have confided that Lucas was insane and told the actors to act a certain way that no one liked......that would have been cool....but instead, he runs like a punk.

I used to be somewhat into the EU, but it was when Lucas said that it doesn't exist to him when he wrote the prequels. After that, I was like...why bother? I don't want to spend time and money reading stuff that doesn't have any relevance to the films. If he just told the people who run the EU to avoid the prequel period until he was done with the movies, then there wouldn't be this continuity or canon issues and everyone would be happy. Sure there are small problems, but I can live with those....no fictional universe is perfect.

Lucas saying that was the kiss of death for the EU with me. Wouldn't bother at all even if I did like the PT. The only SW stuff I continue to get is the video games and they aren't entirely EU. I love my Star Wars games.....at least when they properly finish them.

I was always thinking that Ben Kenobi was his real name and then Obi-Wan was his "Jedi" name. Looking at Qui-Gon Jinn, you sort of see the same thing. Qui-Gon is his "Jedi" name, but we never knew his real name. All the Jedi get special names when they get to be Jedi or a certain Jedi rank.

But alas.....Yoda is just called Master Yoda....no strange "Jedi" name for him, so the theory doesn't hold up too well, I guess.

I am not going to comment anymore on the PT and the SEs. I think that all the points that have been made about both, whether good or bad, have been made. It's becoming a dead horse that we continue to beat. None of us have any definitive answers, but that doesn't mean we can't speculate....for all the good it does us.

I'm keeping my post strictly about current or future SW news and anything OOT related. To me at least, the SEs and the PT are a dead issue. Time to move on.

I apologize for my behavior in this matter.

I am more sorry that this has tainted the effort that Jay is making here with this site. He's doing an important thing in keeping the spirit of the OT alive and the way I have acted has damaged that.

I have no excuse. If I've made you question the effort you've made, Jay...then I am more sorry about that than anything. This site and what it represents is important. I hope it continues to be a mainstay on the internet.

Please share your fondest memories from those heady OT days ('77 to '83) when there were no SEs, PT or Jar Jar.....a time when Vader was the baddest mother****** in the galaxy, when Solo stared down death in Greedo's blaster and blew him away first, when Yoda really was the wisest alien in the galaxy, when we could watch the OT and dream of what Episodes 1, 2 and 3 would be like....

For me, it was playing the old Atari vector Star Wars game in the arcades of the early 80s. No game has ever given me that grand feeling as that one. I never got far, but that didn't matter. I was Luke Skywalker and I was gonna blast that Death Star.

Please share, people....keep that spirit alive.

The point is, someone (gasp) watched them in order, (gasp) liked the prequels, and (gasp) liked and saw them as one saga because they were a new viewer, with none3 of that "I am your father" childhood nostalgia affecting them. They saw them how they were meant to be seen. Boy, would I love to havce been them!

This is just blatant asking for trouble. He is dismissing what many of us think because of our "childhood nostalgia." Real good arguement.

He talks in interviews of how happy he is with the PT, but how disappointed he initially was with the OT. I'm actually proud that he got full control to do whatever he wanted, and didn't listen to any of his co-workers, or any fanboys when making his decisions.

He's proud, huh? Maybe Adam is trying to say....Lucas is doing what he wants and giving all of you a great big middle finger. HAHAHAH!!! I know he didn't say that....not exactly anyway.
