That's what I'm thinking. The whole thing just feels better to be using. Do you have to waste time tinkering with something or trying to fix something? Sure doesn't look like it with a Mac.

I'm looking at one of those G4 deals with the Intel in it so I can also run Windows and play my games.

Yeah....but didn't they design the validation thing this time so you can't run it on more than one computer. Not sure exactly what they did, but they changed that whole thing and made it a lot stricter.

I personally hate that whole damn validation thing. Annoying as hell.

I've gotten to the point with Microsoft where I am SERIOUSLY considering buying a Mac to try it out. I just like that it's so simple and compact. My computer set up is top notch and is massive while the Macs are a simple mouse, keyboard and monitor where all the components are built into the monitor. I like that!!! I like the lack of clutter. I like the look and I like the feel.....I just don't know anything about them so I'm hesitant, but my curiousity is growing like mad.

MS just irks the hell out of me with all the crap they cause with their stuff. MS thinks they're the end all be all of computers and that ain't so. My sister (who's in IT and very knowledgeable, IMHO) was talking to an MS rep a while back and she said that MS's attitude is that they want to be EVERYWHERE. If they could help you get your laundry done, they want to be involved. I don't like that attitude. Turns me off big time.

Plus....I just find myself wanting to get away from the computer more and more. I feel I spend far too much time in front of one and I'm always having to spend time fixing this or doing that, installing some update or finding some fix. It's getting to be a drag. I want to just turn it on....do what I want to do and turn it the hell off. No fuss.

Not to derail the thread here....but any Mac users out there....could you give me an assessment of why you like them better than PCs? Nevermind the hardware and other stuff....how do you FEEL, FEEL about them?

Just reading the differences between the editions.....what's so wrong with Home Basic? Sounds like it's Windows without all the junk and shit they throw at you. Most of those features there, I'm not even remotely interested in....

I beg to differ....

None of those names sound childish in the least. They're on par with anything from the LOTR books. Skywalker is the only thing that kinda sticks out. Han Solo sounds just as awesome as Aragorn or Boromir or Legolas.

Sio Bibble, Jar Jar Binks...come on....those sound utterly retarded.

I checked eBay and didn't see any auctions for that, but they probably are just VHS transfers of the videos released back in '99 or 2000. Definitely not what I want.....I would like to see the episodes as they originally aired.

Someone said they had a set of original broadcasts, but I haven't heard anything about it since.

Not TOUCHING this monstrosity until at least Service Pack 1 is released and then MAYBE, I will get it.

The one word I'm consistently hearing about it is....BLOATWARE.

And from what I've seen, it's absolutely true. Can't MS just put out a basic OS without all the freakin' junk added on....

I used to have a TON of them on VHS from the original airings, but I tossed them, fully expecting them to be on DVD within a few years....that was at least 5 years ago, but I think more.

I'm kinda pissed about throwing them out too. If someone has them on VHS somewhere, I have a Sony DVD recorder and can transfer them no problem. I would love to get the originals in halfway decent quality. I'd rather not buy the DVDs when they come out if I can help it....I don't support Lucas' neurotic tinkering.

They are not very common to find, that's for sure. I've never seen bootlegs on eBay, nor have I seen bootlegs at conventions.

I have no trouble with people being vegans or whatever, but PETA really does give them a bad name. Anyone ever see the Behind The Music episode on VH1 for Ted Nugent. Those wack jobs threatened to kill Nugent's children cuz he hunts animal.

Threatening kids is fucking insane and anyone who does so for a reason like saving the animal should be locked the hell up and the key should be shot into orbit.

This might be cool...hopefully it will catch on....I think previous attempts have faltered...

...come up with some ideas of how you would have wanted the prequels to go or some cool thing you wanted to see....

1. Vader and the Emperor hunt down the Jedi Knights with the help of Boba Fett and a host of Mandalorian Warriors.
2. The Kyber Crystal was referenced in some early drafts of SW and then in the Splinter Of The Mind's Eye novel. Would have been cool if this thing would have made an appearence and played some kind of part in the plot of the prequels.
3. General Kenobi and General Skywalker leading armies in the Clone Wars.
4. Have one of the main characters be an Ithorian (Hammerhead for the uninitiated).
