Well from the looks of it, and according to CP, I DID get it (that I should check my cache to make sure a picture can be posted), but you refused to clear up things after I pointed out some inconsistencies in that, so my complaint is also valid.

And that is where you are being a dumbass and failing to connect the dots. The solution to the mystery of the second computer was to CLEAR ITS FUCKING CACHE and see if it still worked. Fink's solution applied to BOTH computers, I had to write a post to spell this out to you, and you're still bitching about it. No one refused to explain shit to you, you were just too fucking dumb to figure out the obvious on your own. I never said you "DID" get it, just that you understood one small part of it. Those "inconsistencies" you pointed out aren't inconsistencies just because you didn't understand them.

Ha-ha, twooffour *really* gets flustered when he doesn't understand something.

I think it is pretty adorable. Cute little monkey getting flustered that he can't understand human concepts and pissing all over himself like that. Awwwwww.

Yea, you gave a hidden stealth "tip" and then refused to elaborate, or address the fact that your "help" was so incomplete and lacking, it was basically useless.
2/4, his tip was the same tip we give everyone who posts a broken hotlink, and we've never had to explain it any more than that.

Of course, twooffour is the first semi-intelligent ape to register at OT.com, so it stands to reason that he will generally require a little bit more explanation and hand holding to walk him through simple instructions than your typical human form member might.

You have to understand that twooffour is quite the accomplishment! Truly amazing when you stop and think about it! He may quite literally be the most intelligent chimp in the world; we're very lucky to have him among us.

He wasn't agile enough to do the disco moves of the PT but I bet he was agile enough to lift Mace up in the air and shake him like a ragdoll or shoot electricity out of his fingers, like he did in the ROTJ (something Dooku should never have been allowed to do).

Or  better still nimble enough to avoid every blade swipe just by clouding Mace's mind only to collapse on the floor and play dead in time for Anakin to run into the room and see Mace Allwaysonmycase pointing a sword at his mentor's fragile old body, convincing him that the Jedi really were nuts all along.

But I guess that wouldn't look disco enough.

Wow, Bingo just rewrote the scene into an exciting and far more believable turn to the Darkside for Anakin.

A believable turn to evil in any story has to be done from the perspective that the person becoming evil doesn't really believe he is becoming evil. With the exception of some psychopaths, no one is really evil in their own minds. Anakin basically stumbles upon the Windu/Palps fight, is met with 100% confirmation that the man he has been defending as good is actually evil, then proceeds to take his side anyway.

"What have I done!"

"That? Oh, well, you're just fulfilling your destiny. Don't take it so hard."

"I am?"

"Sure!"

"Oh, okay in that case I'll just go ahead and pledge myself to you."

"Goooood."

"What do I do now?"

"Uhhhhh, let me check my day planner. Hmmm, I have some kids in room 307 I need murdered. You want to go ahead and handle that one for me?"

"Uh, yeah, okay."

Not sure how many of you care about fanedits (and I'm not reading the LOST stuff in the thread too closely, in case I do come back to the show someday), but Sunarep is working on a Season 6 edit to try and fix some of the complaints about things ended.

http://www.fanedit.org/forums/showthread.php?4112-Lost-Season-6-Purged-by-Sunarep

(requires FE.org registration)

I like the idea of a fanedit of the entire season six that fixes some of the problems... but it sounds like one of those ambitious projects that nobody finishes. Fanediting an entire season of a TV show is a pretty big process, and that season has a LOT of problems.

I really don't think a lot of the fundamental problems of the season could really be fixed with editing, but maybe I am wrong and this will turn out really nice. I hope so. I liked the show so much, regardless of a few missteps here and there, up until the unforgivably bad season six which, I felt, ruined a lot of the fun of the show, that I considered doing an edit of it before myself to make it leave things more ambiguous. Ultimately I decided it wasn't worth the time though.

I don't have an FE account anymore, and I don't feel like signing up just to read about this. Any chance you could post the list of planned changes here if there is one?

Heh, you shouldn't be talking about mental handicaps right now...

Oh I really should be, you have me quite concerned about you.

so let's get this straight, I say
"I guess I should avoid using those gifs and look for others", then you CLEARLY OVERLOOK THIS PART and insult me for not getting it, and after being called out on that... you claim you knew and just were "confirming" my "guess".

I didn't overlook anything. I read your post completely. To any first English speakers, my post makes complete sense. Reiterating the point when you expressed uncertainty toward the solution, or putting everything you need to do in one concise post after you expressed some degree of confusion is perfectly reasonable. I am not sure why you think it makes me stupid, or why you are accusing me of dishonesty now, other than just a deep desire to keep a fight going.

Also, I didn't insult you for not getting the part I "CLEARLY OVERLOOK"ed, I insulted you for being a dumbass and asking how you can make sure that your picture is in everyone's cache. That is just stupid, but then again typically fits with your general mentality of the problem must be with everyone else, so if they can't see the picture, then rather than ME making adjustments and posting a picture they can see, I must figure out a way to get my picture saved on EVERYONE'S computer. Ingenious, twooffour! Absolutely ingenious!

Errr, I mean, here is a banana.

I generally don't consider myself superior on ANYTHING, to ANYONE, before things get going, only when I HAPPEN to get into a situation where everyone around me seems to be acting like a complete dunce, and I can actually articulate and prove it time and time again.

I am sure it happens a lot. I bet it happens every single time you get in a conversation with someone.

So do you feel stupid now? ;)

Extremely. Maybe one of these days I will wise up, toss a banana your way, and just put you on ignore.

You said "I guess" that is what I need to do, and I was confirming it. No reasons I should feel stupid for that.

No, you were acting as if I hadn't thought of that. I don't care whom you put on ignore, but please stop being dishonest.

You CAN'T make sure it is in everyone elses caches. What you can do, and what Fink explained how to do, is figure out if the only reason you are seeing it is because it is in YOUR cache.  If hot linking isn't allowed for an image, and the host is going through an effort to keep it from being hot linked, then you just need to find that image in another location or resolve to use another image.

I guessed it, you confirmed it :DDD

How is that being dishonest, you stupid twat?

Sometimes I really, really, really, really, really, really hope what comes off as your stupidity is really just a result of English not being your first language, and nothing to do with a mental handicap.

You said "I guess" that is what I need to do, and I was confirming it. No reasons I should feel stupid for that. The only thing I should feel stupid about is wasting time trying to communicate with you when all I am going to get is dumbass comments like: "Do you feel stupid now?"

A smart person (like more than half the members of this entire site, it sounds like) would just put you on ignore and never waste another thought or word on you.

Pretty sure it was a cop-out at the last writing minute.

And now a flash-sideways to the pleasant conversation we could be having.

I agree. Not only was it a cop-out, but I think it was also a product of a show written by numerous writers, a tight writing schedule, and a limited number of episodes to wrap everything up in.

I don't think I've missed anything. That you can't change the past, that was Faraday's "theory".
It was first doubted by Hurley in his (timeless) nerd discussion with the Asian dude, when he brought up some inconsistency concerning young Ben.
Then Faraday started doubting it when trying to warn young Charlotte, so basically, no one actually ever said that you can't change the past.

But Faraday wasn't able to save Charlotte, and we found out that he was the scary man Charlotte remembered talking to and being freak out by in her childhood, indicting that everything that happened had always happened.

I guess in that case, the reason for the bomb not going off could be more accurately put as, it didn't go off because it never went off.

Needless to say, there are only two possibilities a "you can't change the past with time travel" scenario can make sense:
-Fate - some kinda intelligent force interfering and preventing things from happening.
-Determinism - free will is a complete illusion, everything is determined.

Those are definitely themes the show juggled around a lot.

I think the show often came out in support of the Determinism through most of its existence, by then in the last season switched it all over to Jacob (essentially playing the role of "fate") being the force that ensured everything happened as it was suppose to.

So I'm guessing it's the first one here, with Jacob and all, I just find it really lame.
Obviously, if the cause is a supernatural force, Faraday can't possible have been "right" about his theory that was based on scientific ground ;)
So I think the plot's a huge mess :D

I think it is lame too. I actually think, thanks to the many different writers of the show, a lot of different things are going on at different times.

I felt Faraday's theories were the most intriguing and fun answers the show ever explored (a big part of what made seasons 4 and 5 as good as they were). The "wizard did it" stuff with Jacob was a massive part of my disappointment in season 6.

Yea, I didn't check my cache, but I remember visiting this site from another PC, and the picture he referred to WAS VISIBLE THERE.
So maybe it really had something to do with location.

So, somehow, I could see it there, but you can't. Still a cache problem? You said something about gifs "expiring" and "renewing", is that in any way related?

Please, please, read or don't bother.

The only way to find out is to CLEAR THE FUCKING CACHE ON THE COMPUTER YOU ARE SEEING IT ON! You seem to daft to figure it out on your own, but that means BOTH fucking computers. The computer you posted on, and on that other computer you saw the image on.

I don't know why that other computers could see the image. Only you can find that out for sure. If it is a public computer, it is possible someone else looked at that picture before, or that you looked at the picture at some point and forgot, and that it was in your cache.

The regional thing is extremely unlikely, but I suppose it isn't out of the realm of possibility. If you cleared the cache on both computers and they can still see the image, then the problem is obviously something else. I am still nearly 100% certain it is showing up because the image is in the cache of both computers. Depending on the browser's settings, the image could have been visited months or even years before and the computer could still be holding a saved copy.

As to your question of whether or not I am feeling stupid now. Yes, I do rather. Making attempts at trying to carry on intelligent conversations with a lesser evolved simian life form makes me feel very stupid indeed. The smart thing to do would be to toss you a banana leaving you contented and walk away.

What I don't get is why the bomb didn't blow up. Or it blew up, but only like a firecraker? I forget.

I guess you missed the part about not being able to change the past? The island blows up in the past, no plane crash in the future; plan did crash in the future, therefore island can't blow up in the past.

Initially season six seemed pretty amazing when the idea seemed to be that we were dealing with split timelines,

'Timeline A': Desmond doesn't press the button and brings down the plane.

'Timeline B': Bomb blows up the island resulting in no button, no stranded Desmond, and no plane crash. All the influences the island had on the outside world from that point on never happened, resulting in significant variations in the lives of many of the main characters.

I really loved the 'Timeline B' concept being shown through the flash-sideways, which really added to the disappointment when the show revealed that the flash-sideways were just the characters existences in limbo, and not actually a 'Timeline B'.

:(

And if I'm such a noob I hadn't known that, how am I supposed to make sure everyone else has it in their cache, too, so they can see the picture, based on your little "hint"?

Hahahahaha!!!

This post proves beyond a doubt that you are either a bigger fucking idiot than I ever realized, or you simply didn't read Fink's post. Or maybe we're working with a language gap here. He explained in detail what you had to do to see if your images are working or not. I was actually shocked myself to see him nicely and politely trying to help you, and extremely amused that you responded to his effort with hostility.

I thought that was the argument, not the point.

It is really amusing how everything is an argument or a debate to you. To everyone else it is twofortwo being a total blatant retard, and to you it is proving how right you always are.

For example, your response to this will be a potentially very long explanation (or a statement at the very least) about how it is in fact I who am the blatant idiot who is experiencing a reality "fail" (I swear the word "fail" appears in every freakin' one of your posts), while you are the one who couldn't be any more right if you tried.

If you use "irony" then anyone who doesn't get it or pretends not to get it is clearly lacking in comprehension abilities (and are experiencing some sort of "fail"), but when you do it, it is because the irony that you missed or are pretending to miss was clearly an "irony fail" on the part of the other poster.
