Things imperialscum hates (and other depressing goings on in his mind) ***FIRST POST UPDATED AGAIN, NOW WITH MOAR LYNX!***

I hate it when I go take a dump on a casual western toilet and the "waste product" is kind of soft. It is impossible to clean it properly with a toilet paper. One thing I absolutely love about Japan are their washlet toilet seats. You may laugh about them but that is just because you are completely unaware how useful they are.

I feel like in 2013 there really ought to be a better way to clean up after having a bowel movement. I mean, we wash our hands with soap and water to remove invisible germs, we have hand sanitizer bottles waiting in nearly every doorway, but we can't be bothered to come up with better methods for cleaning fresh poop off of our bodies beyond wiping at ourselves blindly with a dry square (or wad of squares).

Americans almost universally make fun of bidets. Pfft, how does that happen? The US is a country of excess and we love stupid things we don't really need (electric can openers, cable television) and somehow we've never adopted the bidet when it would actually be a nice fixture to have around.

Those washlet toilets are nifty, but I always cringe thinking about how dirty that nozzle must be down there... but having one in your own home would be great.

Sigh.  Yes.  My full name is Edmund Stanislaus Rumowicz.  Lance for short.  I am not ashamed.

He has a badass name and claims he is not ashamed. Of course you're not ashamed! That name is crazy badass!

If I had a name like that, I'd commission a painting of myself to hang over the mantel with a plaque with my name on it under.

Video Games - a general discussion thread

V is the new one.  And this has motivated you to pick up IV, or was that a typo?

No, man. I've played 4, it wasn't that great. Only reason I wanted to play it is because it features an Albania mafia. I couldn't get into it. But the new one looks amazing. I was just off on the numbering. I don't keep up on GTA. Half of them don't even have numbers in their name anyway, it's confusing.

I really enjoyed Vice City and Bully, and the one thing I hated about them was blowing a mission and having to start over. Sucked for longer winded missions that had a somewhat difficult end. The new one gives you checkpoints so you don't have to redo 20 minutes of the same thing over and over and over again. Pretty sure that is why I stopped playing 4, got tired of redoing the same thing from the beginning because I messed up some where towards the end of the middle.

Not that I am begging for games to hold my hand more than they typically already are or anything, but it gets boring driving 5+ minutes clear across the map over and over again because you weren't paying attention to the instruction and messed something up, or just suck badly enough not to be able to beat the mission on the first couple of tries, nobody wants that for their daughters.

I was a depressed basement dweller for a while after getting a divorced, then I realized sex is really easy to get, is fun, and it is a huge ego boost. It lost its luster a long time ago, and the emptiness of it all makes it pretty depressing. I still feel pretty much like I did in my depressed basement dwelling days, and would be just as productive wasting my time playing video games and jackin' it, none of them actually care about me, just the way I make them feel and that buzz is temporary, they usually disappear once I start showing a modicum of genuine interest. It's all artificial and hollow. Also, it seems at my age all the really decent women are taken and in serious relationships. Whenever one that could be described as a "keeper" comes my way, it is because they dumped or got dumped by their longish term significant others and are rebounding, which never goes anywhere, or they are celebrating having their freedom again, which means I'm just a rain drop in a very big and disgusting river they won't even remember a few months down the road.

Sometimes I feel like I am destined to keep doing this until my hair falls out and I grow increasingly pudgy and women lose their interest, then end up spending the rest of my life alone.

Over the last couple of years I've discovered I'm really good at casual relationships, I can juggle several at once, hold their interest for pretty much as long as I want most of the time, and (usually) gracefully drop the ones that grow stale or uninteresting. But I suck at potentially serious monogamous ones. Girls will get into me real quick, become totally smitten, and when I return interest and want to pursue something, it seems to fizzle in 3 to 6 months, then I have to go out and start new casual ones because I blew all the other ones off for that one.

Been hanging out with this one girl for a month now (yeah, that's not very long) who I really click with. The other day she admitted that she stopped answering messages from the other guys she had been seeing right after meeting me because they suddenly didn't seem worth wasting time on anymore, and hasn't fooled around with anyone since. I haven't admitted it to her yet, but I've totally been dodging messages from all the other women in my life since meeting her too.

I really dig this girl, she makes it all the way down my check list on desirable features and traits so far, and we seem to want all the same things in life, but this is the point where I feel like a hopeless high schooler and have no idea how I am suppose to act from here on. I feel like if I reach over the line and admit I want to date her exclusively, we'll probably have a really fun 3 or 4 months before we realize we are just smoking filter and have to toss the butt. If I keep it casual, I bet I could still be hanging out with her for another six months or more down the road, while not having to muck around with obligations and strong feelings.

Ugh, relationships suck. But I'm kind of getting burnt out on meaningless physical activity, and kind of want someone to work towards goals with. A solid partner in crime and shenanigans who is always there.

I can't even think of any words to describe that last episode.

Wow!

Now more than ever I am really happy I've been watching this show the last few years. Discovering it years later and having all the episodes laid out before me with no waiting along with impossible to dodge spoilers and references on the internet, it just wouldn't have been the same.

Continuing SPOILERS

Leaving the baby in the firetruck stuck out to me as much as the goodbye to Skyler. Breaking his phone and leaving his daughter behind, it was kind of the last step in letting go of his family, the whole entire reason he started doing all this stuff in the first place gone.

Can't believe we only have two episodes left.

:(

Watched the Blade Runner Final Cut last night. I am becoming increasingly fond of that version, even though it is meddled with and touched up, I feel like it takes my favorite elements from all the other versions and puts them into one very clean and pretty looking cut. The fact that all the other versions share the same case with it makes me feel more than okay with the meddling.

This is the way revisiting an old film and touching up effects should be done, if it must be done. There was a lot done to it, but it was all done in great respect of the original, and none of it looks glaringly noticeable or out of place.

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place

All good things must come to an end. Have people seriously not gotten tired of watching the same two teams play the same game against each other year after year since the 1800's?

Just get a recording of some of the previous few year's games. Go back several years and you won't even remember which team won. It'll be just like still having it, only the commercials will be dated and not current, that will be the biggest downside.

What are you listening to now?
Time

I met this extremely badass girl who kept telling me that there is this band I remind her of that I really need to listen to.

Been listening to Two Gallants constantly since then. Love them! How have they been around ten years without me knowing about them??? Pretty sure they are now one of my favorite things in the world. Steady Rollin' and My Madonna are pretty much the theme songs of the last few years of my life.
