2. Haven't I shown a couple of weeks ago that I have far less of a grasp on how ridiculous I come off sounding almost all of the time than lots of other people on this board? Ask CP3S, he knows.

Yep. True story!

And he uses super awesome words like "butthurt" and "FAIL" to an excess, which makes him uber cool!!!!1 One of the coolest angry little middle schoolers on the internets, in fact.

So... you were playing the game as each DLC came out... you played Anchorage and Pitt as they came out, but didn't finish the actual game until just before Broken Steel came out?  And then you played Broken Steel and Point Lookout and Mothership as each one came out, a couple of months apart?

You've just jogged my memory a bit. You're right, Operation Anchorage and The Pitt came out before Broken Steel, which was the DLC to raise the level cap and let you continue beyond the game. I remember a bunch of people were up in arms over it being released last of the three. Now I remember I had beaten the game a couple of weeks before Operation Anchorage was released, and eagerly bought it up the first day because I was still on a Fallout 3 kick and ready for more. After playing it and really enjoying it and the different style of game play it brought, but not being sure if I felt it was worth the money I spent on it, I decided to wait to hold off on buying The Pitt until after Broken Steel, which I knew for sure I really wanted.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I ever got around to buying The Pitt until it was on a discount one week sometime before Mothership Zeta came out. After really enjoying Broken Steel, the trailer for Point Lookout completely sold me on buying it the day it came out (it ended up being by far my favorite DLC too), and I also bought Mothership Zeta on release day. After buying and finally playing The Pitt (at which point I was a bit Fallouted out) I realized storyline wise it was by far one of the best (maybe the best) piece of DLC for the game, and would have been a way better purchase than Operation Anchorage.

There are currently three FO:New Vegas DLC's.  WikiP tells me that at least two more are on the way and possibly as many as three more after that.  So maybe I'll take my well earned break from Fallout after I finish 3 so that I can score a deal on the GotY edition of New Vegas.

I was so excited about Fallout New Vegas, I probably would have been wasting my money buying those as they came out, but after the horrible glitchy experience I had with the game, I've had no interest and haven't even kept track of them.

I bought the very first one because the reviews were good, and because I managed to finish all the main New Vegas achievements just a few days after it came out, and I really felt the need to go for 100% after putting all that hard work in (plus I have always been curious if they take away your 100% status for games that have DLC released after you got 100% on them, and it felt like a good opportunity to experiment. Turns out they don't, New Vegas still appears in my list of 100% games).

That first DLC was pretty good, but after buying the game on release day, then facing all those game breaking glitches that weren't patched until after the game already dropped to half price, then seeing the game I paid $60 for on release sell at a regular price of $15 brand new only a little over six months after it was released, I haven't really felt like spending another penny on it.

Maybe once the game gets to be $15 used for the GOTY edition, I'll grab it to check out the rest of the DLC.

I've had a stray thought to delete the Broken Steel DLC so I can experience the ending of the game without it.  And then add it on later for the "authentic" experience.  But I think I'm actually (literaly) too lazy to do that and I'll just youtube it.  Suggestions?  (I'm also worried that though I haven't "done" anything with the DLC, it might still create shenanigans with my save file...)

Actually, you've probably "done" somethings WITH the DLC you just don't know about. It added quite a few new perks to the game, and some other changes/additions, likely you've taken advantage of some of those already without realizing. I'd just leave good enough alone, and youtube the ending if you feel you need that authentic experience.

No, I just read it.  (Did you read my extended post right above it?)

Yes.

Can I assume that works even if I've already killed dog meat?

Yes. And even if you kill him before the Broken Steel expansion is installed. I will even bring him back to life if you killed Dogmeat and never had him as a companion. I think it assigns a new name to each dog too, which is kind of cool.

I think I saw that as a perk that's a few levels after 20.  I'm almost to 20 and think I can go onto 21 right away even if I haven't started Broken Steel.  I installed all of the DLC even though I've been ignoring it (as far as I know) for now.

Ah, didn't realize you had them already. Good.

On that note, any suggestions as to when to tackle the DLC?  I assume most of you played it after the main game simply since you didn't have it whilst playing the main game.  I've sort of naturally planned on doing the same thing.

Broken Steel came out shortly after I first beat the game. All the other DLC are just random little side stories, so those ones you could really do at any time. Broken Steel is the continuation of the main storyline and picks up immediately after beating the game (originally, the end of the game was the end, and you didn't continue on after).

The way I did it I think I got the maximum enjoyment out of it. I beat the game and did most there was to do, then every few months I'd have a new chapter along with new perks and content to look forward too. Was kind of pricey buying the DLC as it was released, but I think I enjoyed each one enough to be worth it.

"I had 27 Bottles of Quantum... but I ACCIDENTALLY DRANK ONE!"

Hahaha! That made me laugh really hard.

Collecting those was really annoying. The star bottle caps you have to collect in New Vegas made the Quantum Cola challenge feel like a breeze though.

RE: Dogmeat. In the Broken Steel DLC (while I consider all the DLC pretty good for this game, this one I'd say is a must have for several reasons) there is a "Puppies!" perk, that will bring Dogmeat back everytime he dies. I've read that they added a lot of HP to Dogmeat's puppies so he doesn't die as easily. It was kind of lame how you could be casually walking the wasteland only to have Dogmeat run off after some deathclaw or a entire army of Covenant or something without you realizing it and getting himself killed.

I wonder if I could find a way to make Ani call him "Gob."

:(

C3PS would be funnier. And it is a OT.com meme (*cringe*) invented by you.

I don't like blackmail that doesn't involve a pregnancy.

Oh... well... we should probably meet privately sometime, there is something you should probably know about...

I'm not coming back Xhonzi. You had your chance with me and you blew it. There is someone else in my life now. I've moved on.
You can tell them about us. I'm OK with it now.

NO, 005!  NO!  YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR SWEET GAMER WIFE AND C3PX!  IT's JUST NOT FAIR!

*Hops on the back of the very ripped 005's motorcycle, and they ride off to go spend several hours doing some hardcore split-screening*.

Anakin calls him "Threepio" when he first introduces him. You could easily cut him off at the pi in Threepi and add a Jake Lloyd "es" to it taken from the end of some other word he says.

Oh well, sounds like it will be just another mediocre fan edit not worth downloading.

Will TV's Frink succumb to C3PS's vile attempts at getting a cameo in his edit? Is Zombie84 lying bleeding in an alley somewhere or has he been abducted by aliens or the Scottish mob? Will we find out who is the real mother of Negative1's baby? Will a restraining order be all it takes to get Bingowings to stop stalking LEGO CP3S? Will Xhonzi choose Transformers over Fallout 3, his family, and his lover? Some of these answers and more tomorrow on...

AS THE DEATH STAR TURNS.

Don't get too excited yet, Fink. No official tests have been done to tell who's father the baby is. Zombie84 is a published author and so a far more desirable father. But if that falls through, it is very like you'll be the next one on the list.

Fortunately that night -1 came on to me I was too drunk to get it up.

Fink has officially sold out! Every thread is a plug for his edit.

I'll make you like a fanedit if it's the last thing I do. :p

Change every instance of the name C3PO to CP3S, and it will officially be my favorite version of a SW prequel until the day I die. Otherwise: Meh.

American plugs are so lame and compact, I love the massive three pronged ones in the UK. The compact round ones they use in France are my favorite, sometimes they fit loosely in the outlet and just fall out. Of course, that is based mostly on my stay in a really old hotel in Paris. Modern made power receptacle cover seem to hold them in just fine.
