Bill Hunt's DigitalBits ROTS review- SPOILERS be warned!
Time
I hear ya Warbler. I think as far as including the children element in the story, the Ewoks were 100x better than Jar Jar and the Gungans. However many people focus too much on the kiddie element, and forget that the rest of the story is really good.

Could ROTS be better than ROTJ IMO? Possibly, but it has to be damn good to hit that mark.

A question in regards to Samuel L. Jackson
Time
That's exactly how I felt. He's a very credible actor, and I thought he played his part very well. I still don't get why Lucas gave him that "This party's over" line when he arrived at the arena. It was like Jedi Shaft just showed up to kick some ass. Other than that, I liked his performance.

Who's the mean jedi cat with the 5 foot lightsaber and a boot up yo' ass.....MACE!!!....Ya daaaaaaamn right.

Anakin's fall - did it really need three films or could it have been done in one?
Time
IMO, I think three is the right amount. The idea was solid turning him from a boy to a teen to a young adult who turns to the dark side. The execution just sucked when it came down to the character (too corny in Ep. 1, too whiny/angst ridden in Ep. 2). But I still view the OT and PT as separate so far, which I guess can help me enjoy some aspects of Ep. 1 and 2. Hopefully 3 will be one of the PTs I can attach in my mind to the OT as a 4 part movie. We'll see.

How Many Times Have You Seen The Original Trilogy?
Time
They don't need to be Classics necessarily. Just good. Which is why I would throw in the Xmen and Spiderman trilogies (assuming the last movies in each fit as a complete trilogy and are good individually). I'd probably throw in Blade also just because 1 and 2 were pretty good, and 3 was meh, but still fun.

But you're right about The Matrix. I would only watch it for the first one so it probably would get thrown out.

Alien Trilogy is definately up there. I still liked Resurrection, and thought AVP as...ok.

And OMG I can't believe I forgot about the Evil Dead series.

Speaking of the Mariachi trilogy, I hadn't actually seen "Mariachi" up until a couple of days ago. Very interesting. I was kind of taken back by it after seeing Desperado/OUTIM already, but it wasn't too bad.

Oshits, and the Batman Trilogy. I say trilogy because "Batman and Robin" is basically Batman on Ice. Good job Schumaker with the flamboyant colors and nipples on the batsuit. Can't wait for Batman Begins.

Which 2 of the Superman Quadrilogy does everyone consider to be good? I liked 1 and 2, and can't even remember pt. 3, other than it was about him fighting himself and a computer. 4 was bleh.

We need to have a trilogy festival... Where we show all the greatest movie trilogies ever created back to back over the course of a few days.

Day One: Opening Ceremonies
Star Wars Trilogy (Unaltered Theatrical Release)
Back to the Future Trilogy
The Matrix Trilogy
Lord of the Rings (Theatrical Versions)
Godfather Trilogy

Day Two: Blade Trilogy
Trilogy of Non Crappy Superman films
Lord of the Rings (Extended Edition Trilogy)
Indiana Jones Trilogy
X-Men Trilogy

Day Three: Terminator Trilogy
Spiderman Trilogy
Star Wars Prequel Trilogy (DVD Editions. MagFan of AoTC preferably)
Star Wars Ultimate Edition (Lucas's latest changes)
Closing Ceremonies

In between all the movie watching, there could be bathrooms, and places to enjoy other trilogies like books and Video games. Rachet and Clank comes to mind.

Actually, I was thinking about this recently. I realize many of us are from pretty far away, but has there ever been any thoughts of having a get together? Maybe an OTCon, or something? Perhaps that would be a good way to generate some press for our cause? Perhaps we could have two or three smaller ones in different locations and webcast them to eachother...I know it's probably just pie in the sky, but hey, never know.

That's a good set of Trilogies. I'd definately throw in the Terminator trilogy (mainly for 1 and 2, but I could always grab a nap during 3 ). Maybe even include the Harry Potter quadrilogy.

I haven't seen the OT or PT anywhere near as most here I'm sure, so I'll keep my mouth shut. Maybe 10 times for each of the old ones, and 3 times on both of the PTs so far.

Close Wars cartoon - I'm sorry, but i thought this sucked
Time
Meh, they were ok for what they were. An attempt to bridge the gap between both movies. I don't really agree with using the guy that did the Samurai Jack cartoons for the art, but it turned out ok. I agree though that the first 15 chapters were just senseless battles, but the last 10 I think made it really nice. I think that the voice acting for Padme was the worst though.

For some reason, I picture a green baby with big ears and a bottle saying "Not the Jedi, Not the Jedi!" (Only funny if you've ever seen the puppet sitcom Dinosaurs )

Oh hell yes! Somebody who knows Dinosaurs!?!? Sweet!!!

But he has to be hanging on the back of his father's neck smacking him in the head while yelling "Not the Jedi!"

With a frying pan too.

Would you like some toast with your breakfast son? ...*hooooo* *puuuuurr*.... You know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day ...*hoooo* *puuuuur*... It makes you nice and strong for when you're force choking people.

Drink your milk too....you don't want to end up looking like the Emperor. He smoked 3 packs a day and didn't drink his milk and look at him now. ....*hoooo* *puuuurr*....

Trilogy marathon (Tucson, AZ)
Time
Pfft. There's programming jobs all over Dallas. But if you have a good gig going right now, hold on to it. You really have to put in some research to get a good programming job here. They're available, but getting one that pays right and treats you good requires a weeding out process. There are some positions at my job, but I wouldn't recommend them based on the people I've talked to from that department.

BTW I noticed you're new also. Welcome.
