There’s no way that should be the case, knowing my process. But I’ll check as I do the eventual reencode. Thanks.

Yeah I don’t know if it’s my display, but I redownloaded it to check and the grading still switched. There’s another oddity with that scene too. I didn’t notice it in the changelist, but 0:45-1:07(https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yfZcUC2rB_I) are missing. We go from Rey calling Poe a difficult man to Finn suddenly talking about just landing. I don’t know if that was intentional.

That was intentional, yeah, to remove the lightspeed skipping reference. It… had a lot of discussion multiple times, so I don’t want to go into it, but yes it’s intentional.

Also, I can’t verify any apparent color change at that moment. Looks fine to me, and the way I applied the color changes at the end of the process, there’d be no way for the setting to change right then. It’s an edit point earlier in the process but not then.

That makes sense.

Yeah it doesn’t matter too much. That shot with Finn talking about landing and Poe walking away just seemed to be warmer to my eyes than the preceding argument scene. It might’ve been my display.

Shame MR didn’t get to add the sabers fizzling out at the end. That would have been a nice bookend to the entire saga. 😔

Do we have Spanish subs for v2 maybe?

Just wanted to wish everyone here a very happy holidays!

And…if the edit will be re-rendered anyway, might I suggest one final tweak to the finale in the spirit of the season?

Will this play well on Plex? 😃

I wasn’t going to post this but then saw someone ask about how it played on PLEX.
I was playing it in PLEX at my computer desktop…the audio played great on the computer using the Knights of REN version DTS 5.1. BUT…

when I watching on a PLEX version app of my LGTV…I was hearing commentary over the Knights of REN audio version DTS 5.1. I switched it to the NON Knights of REN version DTS 5.1 and it played great without the commentary in the Audio version, But it also did not play the Knights of REN voices (Which it is not supposed to).

While trying to figure out it my problem was a bad setting on my part… I switched to ENGLISH AC3, and the audio was coming out as Spanish. I think the problem is something to do with not have setting right in the LG TV PLEX app, but thought I would post to see if any one else was having issues.

HAL 9000…I love this version, I have not gone back to watch the original anymore because of the work done by you and others making a great improvement to the film. I was super excited about the light sabre crackle scenes. I am a FAN of Star Wars, owning many formats of the movies (VHS/DVD/4K). Your changes to the Episode 9 is all I talk about. Thank you for this Christmas gift.

PS I will keep you up to date on my mystery issue with PLEX LGTV app.

Thanks to all for the expressions of enjoyment and appreciation, both in the thread and via PM! There have been too many to respond to individually, but I’m so glad this was able to get out when it did.

You all deserve it! Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwazy Kwanza, a tip-top Tet, and a solemn, dignified Ramadan.

After a full day downloading yesterday (I hate my internet) it’s ready for tomorrow now. I’ve just flicked through to make sure there’s no playback issues and got taken by surprise by just how good the unstable sabre looks in a full scene (the training scene at the start), I can’t remember who’s that was but it’s seamless work.

Thank you so much to all those who put in so many hours of hard work to bring this to the Star Wars Fandom. Fantastic achievement!

Just watched this after TFA Starlight and TLJ Rekindled, and WOW. I can’t thank everyone here enough. It was clear, it was more straightforward, it was less of a torrent of ideas, and it demanded far less mental juggling. And, best of all, all of those gorgeous new CG additions and new scenes really, really landed. I can’t believe we finally have this movie in such competent shape. There were a handful of things I’d trim, which were beyond the scope of this project, but FINALLY it feels like the worthy successor to the sequel trilogy and the Skywalker saga that it should have always been. Two years later than I should have been, I’m finally at peace with this movie.

Listened to the commentary track; great addition. It was super neat to hear my username mentioned (and correctly pronounced!).

Sorry for the double post, that never happens… I promise!

I just wanted to quickly thank you again (as many others have already) for the release Hal, I was up until 4 Christmas morning listening to the group commentary you guys put together, it was seriously entertaining and occasionally got a big laugh out of me.
It’s sad that I’ll never get to listen to another one again as I have for all releases you’ve put out. I really appreciated the brief shoutout over my 3PO line, it honestly brought my experience with the project from day 1 full circle, as I remember PMing you about it right after this enormous thread was first created. It’s really been a fun 2 years.
I also thought I should point out that I haven’t forgotten about that final contribution I offered up a few weeks ago, just gimme a little while longer and we should have a solid addition for the project’s public release.

Thanks mate,
Chase

Nothing more to add here.
Finally we got an enjoyable finale of the Star Wars Saga.
Btw, today I showed it to my dad (he never saw E9 before) and he s still not aware it was a fanedit 😄 During the ghosts scene he was like “oh, finally, there’s Yoda” 😄

+1 to all praises thus far. Amazing how far we’ve come as a community.

Quick question: Are the files on drive the most updated version which fixed the minor issues (Poe saying “up” twice, video errors)? Or is that still a work in progress?

It will probably be at least a little while before I fix those errors, in order for all feedback to come in first, and to enjoy some Christmastime.

However, what’s there now is perfectly watchable and fine.

I’m a little late to the party - My current links to the edits no longer work, could you send me a PM to final version.

Hey, Hal, not to sound unappreciative or sound like a spoiled brat or anything, but did you consider potentially having both the original and new commentary tracks on V2? Just curious.
