Simon Kinberg Star Wars Trilogy

Author

Another new Star Wars project that will likely never see the light of day. He has some Star Wars experience, having written some episodes of Rebels, but his other works have been really hit or miss so if it does actually come out it’ll likely be a coin flip whether it’s any good or not.

he wrote xmen last stand and dark phoenix…

Do the unmade SW films outnumber the made ones yet?

Let’s see!

Canceled films: Kevin Feige spy thriller, Rian Johnson trilogy (though Rian did say he might still end up doing a show instead). I’m not counting Obi-Wan or Boba Fett cause those ended up being shows anyways.

Films currently in development: Obaid-Chinoy movie (Episode 9.5), Waititi movie, Mangold movie (Jedi Prime story that the GoT guys were originally gonna do), Jenkins movie (Rogue Squadron), Filoni movie (Heir to the Empire), Glover movie (Lando), Kinberg trilogy (Episodes 10-12), Levy movie (old lady Rey).

So in total, we have this:

Theatrically-released Star Wars films: 15 (I’m counting TCW08 and Mando & Grogu since it’s already been filmed, and also counting the Ewok films since they were released theatrically outside the US)

Movies still in development or canceled: 14

Close!

EDIT: also forgot about the Droid and Wookiee movies that Lucas thought about doing way back in the day. Do those count?

It’ll probably just end up having the same fate as the Batgirl movie.

In other news, I’m making a new Star Wars trilogy.

Wait, nevermind. I just cancelled it.

They haven’t said who they are approaching to direct these even if they get made.

There already have been cancelled trilogies like Obi-Wan and The Old Republic.

They said they were done with Saga films and numbered episodes. Whether we actually get episodes 10, 11 and 12 remains to be seen.

Honestly, I wish they wouldn’t announce until they had a director, a locked shooting date and a script. and a release date booked for theaters.

Sure, give Simon Kinberg a trilogy, ha. Lucasfilm are just trolling now.

But it’s from the same writer as Fant4stic and Dark Phoenix. It should be great, right?

so without knowing what direction, they still announced some shit ?

Did they announce it? Seems like it’s only in development which doesn’t mean much.

While we’re at it, I’m announcing my own Star Wars movie. Why not? It has just as much a chance of being made as these.

At least it’s not official, not that it gives them much excuse after bringing Daisy on stage for a non made movie which currently has no script and whether the director leaves the project is impending. Well that is for the Rey movie i’ve never seen something so dumb since JJ announced the 4th Star Trek with none of the cast signed. And Kinberg is attached to that as well.

Fan films have a better track record than Disney, so you’re not wrong.

Kathy Kennedy seems to have trouble with Disney and Iger in general with how often he has thrown a wrench into things. Solo flopped lets make Star Wars only for streaming television. We put too much money into the streaming thing lets announce Star Wars returns to theaters.

Too many people second guessing every single decision and corporate strategy changing every few months.

Marvel is the public picture Disney wants to be seen as, Lucasfilm is the example of how not to run a successful company.

I want Lucasfilm to be as good as their reputation was under George Lucas in the good old days. If that is even desirable or possible.
