The teaser for season 4 of SNW is just awful. I won’t miss Kurtzman Trek when it is gone. Too cartoony, too many big swings. Expensive gibberish. At best maybe half or less than half of the episodes will have a chance to not be trash. If season 3 is any indicator.

Puppet episodes tell me they didn’t care that fans didn’t like the cartoon episode or musical, or the making the show too sitcom.

In any case they greenlit Star Trek Starfleet Academy a show no one but Alex Kurtzman wanted, a sequel to Discovery. Star Trek 90210. But refused to make that 25th century post TNG show everyone was asking for.

Now with all the sets destroyed and dismantled there won’t be a Wesley Kirk year one.

Paramount/Skydance insist that that Kinberg produced movie is happening. So they claim, after Lucy and Charlie Brown with the football style for ten years over a 4th Kelvin timeline film. Which is cancelled now. This is a reboot of some sort or prequel.

Can they make Star Trek with actual Star Trek within it. That broadly appeals to the Trekkian future and themes. Explore Strange New Worlds, seek out new life. A sense of wonder. Explore the human condition. Science Fiction.

Hopeful optimism and utopian future. What we don’t need is more dystopian. More puppets, more CW shows. more YA romance. Musicals, horror. Trying to make Mass Effect, trying to make the Terminator and Aliens. Trying to be Buffy and Angel. 90210. The Vampire Diaries, Game of Thrones or the Walking Dead.

Don’t try to be Disney MCU or Disney Star Wars. There are many Star Trek series that exist pre Kurtzman to use as an idea as to what Star Trek is and how it works.

Why did the TNG formula work?

I think these people are hacks and the new owners aren’t going to be all that better stewards of Star Trek either.

Either they don’t understand Star Trek or they are opposed to Star Trek’s message and vision. It couldn’t be more clear after seeing section 31.

What a disgrace to Star Trek.

Indeed, they were Strange. A puppet episode and some big swings.

Now a movie that is dark in a new timeline but not the JJ Timeline. with no recognizable ships or characters.

Well, let’s see the end of Kurtzman’s tenure. Star Trek Academy season 2 and Strange New Worlds season 5.

And is Star Trek dead again like in 2005. I heard they tore down the Doctor Who tardis set. Not just the Star Trek sets. So that might be two things that are dead.
