You’re completely right .Mac . Now i’m not bothered about the revisited edits working in respect to the PT ( i just can’t watch them any more), but i do like the ST & Rogue One. So, even though nothing i do would really contradict the PT, i’m not worried about anything i do affecting them either.

Adywan, I don’t know if this is the right place for me to ask, and I don’t know if I speak for a lot of people here, but I’d love to finally hear your thoughts on the Sequel Trilogy. Why do you enjoy Episodes VII, VIII, and IX so much? How do you feel about the more divisive creative choices, like Luke’s character arc, the Canto Bight sequence, Palpatine returning, or the idea that the storyline’s just an OT “Rebels VS Empire” rehash?

Oh my gosh. I have enjoyed every single creative choice Adywan has made with the OT so far, so I’m kinda shocked to hear that he enjoyed those movies! They are so so SO bad that I don’t think I could be compelled to watch them again at gunpoint… I mean, in addition to the laughably terrible examples you mentioned, riding horses on a Star Destroyer (in a fleet of thousands, with a crew of millions, all conjured out of thin air by… magic??) is childish fan fiction so bad that a six year old must have written it. To each his own, I guess.

All those Star Destroyers weren’t conjured out of thin air, silly. Where’s your imagination? And how much weight do you put on logistical realism vs mythic spectacle?

Hey guys, just a reminder that this thread is about Adywan’s fan edits… not the sequels…

Ady, I’m a big fan of your color corrected versions. Will you release your Return of the Jedi regraded?

I’d like that too! Though I wonder how relevant it will be when (or if) the 50th releases come out on 4K/BD…
Considering that would mean Ady using it as a source instead.

It’d be very relevant for anybody wanting SE material to reintegrate.

Yes! This and also I am not counting on the 50th anniversary release yet. We are hoping for the best but we should be prepared for the worst.

I have been thinking about the Executor. Maybe after the bridge destruction B-wings could bomb the hell out of it so it’s more substantially damaged before hitting the Death Star surface. Maybe a few Hammerhead Corvettes could replicate their success at Scarif and nudge the damaged ship to its final destination.

Is there still a goal for this edit to make the final battle in space more dynamic?

Wishlist/suggestion, Lando tells the fleet to engage the Star Destroyers point blank to avoid being zapped by the Death Stars’ superlaser. Could we please have an inserted shot of the super laser doing just that - taking out a rebel capital ship and oops that ISD was in the way so it was hit, too?

I love that RA52 storyboard image of the B-Wings storming above the Executor. I’d love to see that realised if Ady is considering it…

The look of Rogue One perfectly mimics that of the original trilogy, yet features highly convincing CGI. I loved how, in TESB:R, you animated the scene where the Falcon arrives at Bespin to look like it came straight out of the SE—albeit with much more polished lighting—while remaining consistent with the other scenes added in the SE. It seems you are now trying to give your modified scenes that modern touch found in the ST films, but I think there should be a visual balance between the SE style and Rogue One so that the result doesn’t feel like a completely different beast.

I have just posted this on the Facebook page…

Hi everyone.
So the donation drive went really well… or so i thought. I managed to order the Archive X paints ( some out of stock so will re-order them soon). I can’t thank Guy at Archive X enough. Very helpful and , as they are based only half an hour away from me, he hand delivered the paints to my address the same day as ordering.

ON the printing side of things, i’ve almost finished printing the top section of the 5foot Falcon. (see attached photo) This thing eats filament but its looking good. Used the last of the first order of filament and i’m having to pause until i can order the final batch. (well i am having to have a short pause even if i had the extra filament at the moment, but i’ll come to that later)

Now bout getting that final batch… We hit the target ( we got £12 more than the target in the end) a few days after i became ill with a nightmare of a chest infection. And the first heatwave hit just as i was starting to feel a little better, so it was too hot upstairs to have the PC on (36 Degrees C in my workroom and no air conditioning). Then, when it started cooing down i went to order the second lot of filament only to find out that paypal had frozen the funds. I’d had donations from multiple email addresses totalling up to £267 that turned out to be from the same credit card and there had been a charge-back and my account was frozen while paypal investigated. Took over a week for them to unfreeze my account but now i’m £255 away from the total i needed to raise. I wasn’t given any explanation other than the credit card company had received a charge back request from the car owner. So i thought that someone had used a card to make donations that they wasn’t theirs. All the donations that used this card came from different email addresses and were within a week of each other, the last one being on the day before i made the last post stating that there was only £100 left to raise.

But a day or so after paypal unfroze my account and refunded the money i got an email from the person who had made the donations and made the charge back request. It was done deliberately. This person was very pleased with himself and very abusive towards me and what i am doing with this project. He knew that it would completely screw me up because i wouldn’t be able to cover the amount of funds he withdrew is i had spend them on the materials. Luckily , thanks to being ill and the heatwave, i hadn’t had the chance to place my order. So he failed in that respect.
But i do still have to keep the donation drive open longer and just hope that i can raise enough to cover this hole in the funds. So, if you can still help out , then i would be greatly appreciative. You can find the link to donate in one of the earlier posts on this page.

The last thing i want to cover is something i touched on earlier in this post. That i’m having to have at least a week or two off from printing even if i had been able to get the filament. Most people who have an Elegoo Centauri Carbon 1 will have come across the “Error code 103” problem which stems from their shitty USB cable going to the hot-end. Well i got it half way through a print and the thing stopped and the error code came up. Rebooted and then just got stuck in the “anomaly in printhead heating- reboot” screen cycle (see picture). Reboot, screen comes up again every time and i’m stuck . can’t do anything. Luckily it is in warranty and i’m in contact with Elegoo who seem pretty good at shipping you the parts needed to fix the printer. Done all the tests they requested and it looks like the USB cable, the hotend board and the main board need replacing. I’m just waiting back to hear from them to fins out what’s happening next. It’s a very common issue and they have produced a replacement USB cable that is supposed to fix this problem arising in the future. But sadly the parts look like they have to be shipped from china so it is going to b e a few weeks to get this up and running again.

In the mean time, now things are cooling down a little at night here in the UK by the looks of things ( well it is tonight at least anyway) , I’m working on Vaders voice in ANH to hopefully bring it closer sounding to how it appears in the other two films. But i will cover than in my next post.
See you in a few days…

Very excited to see the progress on the Falcon! It’s looking very handsome. Terrible to hear about that nerf-herder. I just donated a few dollars for the cause. Hope you feel better soon and the donations come in. May the Force be with you.

Intrigued to see whether you manage to tone down Vader’s voice in those opening scenes of ANH. He does seem rather out of character compared to the rest of the saga, most notably, the anger…

It is sad to read there are still these type of idiots about, ady.

Good luck with parts replacement for the printer - and that 5ft Falcon looks so cool!

Donation sent.

Keep well, mate. 👍

In regards to the donation claw back a friend of mine exhibits in an art gallery up here and they had issues when a patron with strong autism had attempted to donate £6 million via their ATM donation machine and had to give it back when his carer uncovered what he had done. There was no malice involved just a medical situation. Maybe something similar happened. I still can’t donate with PayPal.
