I'm Doing It for Charity.

Once in a while our intrepid band of heroes take part in a sponsored event or have some sort of charity or cause that they are trying to raise money or awareness for, I searched but couldn’t find an existing thread so here it is…

To start you all off and completely shatter any anonymity I once enjoyed on these forums here is something I’m up to soon.

On Sunday 29th April I will be walking 23.3 miles around Glasgow in a skirt. Not that I need much justification, but I hope to raise a bit of money for the Central Scotland Regional Equality Council who are kind enough to employ me, a number of my friends and provide volunteering opportunities for more friends. That was another Kiltwalk. It ended being 27miles because I had to get to the starting point and from the finishing line. Normally we have all four seasons at once but this year we got Autumn in April. Rain with intermittent grey. The organisers split the event over two days so the shorter walks happened on the Saturday (in torrential rain) making the long walk not as densely participated and the usual enthusiastic crowd at the finishing line wasn’t very impressive. I got lost at one point because the signage wasn’t too good and I couldn’t see anyone else doing the walk as there weren’t as many kilts this time either. Thanks again to my donors. The link should be good for a few weeks to come. I am now sore in places I didn’t know I had places.

I booked my place on the Edinburgh Kiltwalk. Sept 13th. As before I am walking for #CentralScotlandRegionalEqualitiesCouncil in these bonkers times organisations like this are even more essential. I normally walk in the Glasgow event but it clashed with some film or other I’m in. sl1nk.com/loczlxb

My pal Roman Hudson has had the cheek, nerve, gall, audacity and gumption (misfortune)to get ill with cancer in a country without universal health care. As you can imagine it’s pretty expensive.
