Can someone explain how Sith is bad except for the over use of cgi, Anakin’s turn that makes no sense. or the very overly produced and flashy without substance lightsaber duel.
The story is vastly improved, I might even say its quite good in the Novelization.
I think the last third is pretty darn good. And the opening despite the amount of goofy silly things and bad cgi is also quite decent.
I like the one liners in some scenes and I do actual like the seduction scene in the opera house, just not the mention of midiclorians.
I still think the Phantom Menace and Sith have the best scores of the prequel as well.
In most cases it might edge out Phantom Menace had it been shot on film, in my rankings.
I think ROTS is for sure the best of the sequels but it still has its issues when you see it as an actual movie. You already mentioned quite a few points (Anakins turn is the main plotpoint of the movie and it comes out of nowhere…). But you didn’t mention the general writing of the scenes. Here’s my favourite example of the terrible dialogue of this movie:
Anakin: You are so… beautiful.
Padmé: It’s only because I’m so in love.
Anakin: No, it’s because I’m so in love with you.
I also still love it but when you measure it by the criteria applied to any other movie, it doesn’t really hold up.
