Ever since I heard Lando’s line in TROS, “Luke and I were tailing a Jedi hunter…” I’ve wanted that story to be told. I’m glad we’re finally getting it. Most looking forward to ‘Shadow of the Sith’!

Great to hear that Jake Bartok has been employed to contribute to Stories of Jedi and Sith as well. He’s a fantastic artist.

“Remember, the Force will be with you. Always.”

Shadow of the Sith sounds like it has the potential to address a lot of the issues I had with TROS, I’m really looking forward to it.

EDIT: here’s the full description for anyone who doesn’t feel like clicking the above link:

Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian return in this essential novel set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

The Empire is dead. Nearly two decades on from the Battle of Endor, the tattered remnants of Palpatine’s forces have fled to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. But for the heroes of the New Republic, danger and loss are ever-present companions, even in this newly forged era of peace.

Jedi Master Luke Skywalker is haunted by visions of the dark side, foretelling an ominous secret growing somewhere in the depths of space, on a dead world called Exegol. The disturbance in the Force is undeniable…and Luke’s worst fears are confirmed when his old friend, Lando Calrissian, comes to him with reports of a new Sith menace.

After his daughter was stolen from his arms, Lando searched the stars for any trace of his lost child. But every new rumor only led to dead ends and fading hopes–until he crossed paths with Ochi of Bestoon, a Sith assassin tasked with kidnapping a young girl.

Ochi’s true motives remain shrouded to Luke and Lando. For on a junkyard moon, a mysterious envoy of the Sith Eternal has bequeathed a sacred blade to the assassin, promising that it will give him answers to the questions that have haunted him since the Empire fell. In exchange, he must complete a final mission: return to Exegol with the key to the Sith’s glorious rebirth—the granddaughter of Darth Sidious himself, Rey.

As Ochi hunts Rey and her parents to the edge of the galaxy, Luke and Lando race into the mystery of the Sith’s lingering shadow and aid a young family running for their lives.

“…a mysterious envoy of the Sith Eternal…”

This is interesting. Thrawn maybe?

Author

Sounds like a tie in film prequel novel years too late for Rise of Skywalker. I’ll probably still read it though.

Author

I’ve already pre-ordered Shadow of the Sith. Not sure about the others. I already have a “need to read” stack on my nightstand and more High Republic novels on the way. I’ll get to it all eventually.

Less than a month to go for the “The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian (Season Two)” book!

I really hope it is as good as the season 1 book and we also see more concept and early alternative images

I preordered it when the release date was December. Kept it even though they moved it back. I loved the fist one. Can’t wait to get this one!

Hopefully less than those IDW reprints of the strips which were not printed full size. If a Dark Horse reprint It will be Classic Star Wars which was a reformatting of the strips from the 1990s. Making it one continuous thing and removing the recaps and serial nature of it.

My favorite is still the Russ Cochran black and white printing of the Al Williamson material which oversize but also not full size. The IDW reprint was tiny.

Mine is kind of beat up from a dentists office. The 3 volume set. But it is signed by Al And Archie. These still sell from time to time but they are always in the 300 dollar and up range. I paid like half that. The slipcase has a little wear the volumes have been read once or twice by me. Though at=re in a box now, gods knows if the movers damaged them I hope not. I took out very few books and put them out i have Rinzler making of Star Wars. and of course, in my bedroom I have the hardback for thrawn trilogy and dark empire trilogy combined in an omnibus, I think there is a Hardback planned of the Al Williamson Classic Star Wars stuff and it will be around a hundred US.

I think I have Tales of the Jedi hardback as well, but I’m not sure. I do have all but the first of the original Marvel years volumes. The volume with Howard Chaykin goes for hundreds of dollars in hardback and has never been reprinted.

I don’t have the Marvel UK or Droids volume. I wanted them to do Star Wars Republic in hardback and they’ve done them in the paperback volumes and in digital edition. They have a hardback coming at some point that collects all of the Cade Skywalker legacy material. I’d like to get Mara Jade by the Emperor’s hand and Splinter of the Minds Eye, and Shadows of the Empire then I see some of the prices the hardback volumes command once out of print, also its Disney they rarely are discounted. Especially with Diamond comics distributors being gone and Things from another world being gone. Its a real shame Amazon took over the entire space of bookselling, other than looking for small independents on ebay. Barnes and Noble never discounts anything, not books.

Sometimes if you don’t mind a remaindered copy you can get a volume for decent money. But they aren’t collectors items with a small ding in the cover or a remainder marker mark. If you buy books to read them and for them not to be pretty all but the first Omnibus Star Wars Hardback from the new Disney Marvel should be findable. Except for Artists editions or limited editions. All but the black and white Star Wars artifact edition are impossible to find. Dark Times artists edition and especially the Empire Strikes Back by Al Williamson you aren’t finding those.

I would have liked a premium format edition of the original Star Wars comic adaptation from Howard Chaykin but they reprinted the Barreto 1997 Special Edition. The Chaykin material with original colors would be in the TPB Marvel Epic Collection. And of course, the already mentioned Hardcover with Hildebrandt cover. Long out of print since 2015.

An informative flip-through video for the long-awaited (and delayed) ‘The Art Of Andor’ book, by Phil Szostak…

The Art of Star Wars Andor - The Complete Series Page Turn

www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwm4w-IEwcM - a 10 minute video from the Marker Ghost Art! youtube channel.

Book Publisher Info: www.abramsbooks.com/product/art-of-star-wars-andor-the-complete-series_9781419775680

The Synopsis and ISBN / book info - from Waterstones…

'The official behind-the-scenes companion to the Emmy, WGA, SAG, Golden Globe, and BAFTA–Award nominated Disney+ series.

The Art of Star Wars: Andor (The Complete Series) gives readers an exclusive inside look at the production art, visual development, concept art, creature designs and FX, graphics, props, and more that went into creating the Tony Gilroy helmed Disney+ series.

Through extensive interviews with Gilroy, star Diego Luna, and the talented Lucasfilm visualists, author Phil Szostak documents every step of Andor’s production from discussions following the initial release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story up through post-production on the final episodes of season two.

With deep dives into the locations that defined the series, including Kenari, Ferrix, Aldhani, Narkina 5, Mina-Rau, Ghorman, and Yavin 4, among many others, this essential volume celebrates the legacy of all twenty-four critically acclaimed episodes and the hurdles the filmmakers, cast, and crew had to overcome to bring their vision to life.

Every facet and detail of the Rebellion and Empire’s inner workings and the day-to-day existence within the world of Star Wars that Andor lovingly depicted are explored in great detail along with reflections on the series overall and its espionage roots and political relevance. The lived-in, battered costumes, ships, and locales that are so crucial to the DNA of Star Wars are on full display in this volume alongside the elegant formalism of the Galactic Senate and Coruscant.

Every piece of concept art—from ISB uniforms to Ferrix workwear to sleek speeders to the sterile prison cells of Narkina 5—has a tactility that leaps off the page. Cassian Andor’s journey from thief to spy to rebel to martyr, and the stories of his allies, uneasy partnerships, Imperial schemes, and galactic revolution took audiences on an emotionally resonant adventure and The Art of Star Wars: Andor spotlights the exceptional work that made it all possible.

Yeah, Legacy comes out when? July 28. The Rey Skywalker book with Leia, that is a prequel to the Rise of Skywalker.

Still waiting on the Al Williamson book. If it isn’t pushed back again also July 28th. Though 125 US dollars is a bit much for an Omnibus. 150 dollars just for the two Indiana Jones Marvel volumes Too not Star Wars but Lucasfilm. 75 each.

I wonder who prices these Omnibuses.

By comparison the Hardback for a novel being 30 dollars seems almost fair.

All things being considered the OMNI’s always sell out for Star Wars and command hundreds of dollars on the secondary market for select hard to find volumes. Even so the price increases I can’t begin to understand them.

I hope the artists or their estate are being paid a royalty. I’d hate to pay these prices and think it’s just corporate greed and I do think that.

The blurb: 'A mysterious former Sith wanders the galaxy in this stunning Star Wars tale. An original novel inspired by the world of The Duel from the Star Wars Visions animated anthology.

The Jedi are the most loyal servants of the Empire. Two decades ago, Jedi clans clashed in service to feuding lords. Sickened by this endless cycle, a sect of Jedi rebelled, seeking to control their own destiny and claim power in service of no master. They called themselves Sith.

The Sith rebellion failed, succumbing to infighting and betrayal, and the once rival lords unified to create an Empire . . . but even an Empire at peace is not free from violence.

Far on the edge of the Outer Rim, one former Sith wanders, accompanied only by a faithful droid and the ghost of a less civilized age. He carries a lightsaber, but claims lineage to no Jedi clan, and pledges allegiance to no lord. Little is known about him, including his name, for he never speaks of his past, nor his regrets. His history is as guarded as the red blade of destruction he carries sheathed at his side.

As the galaxy’s perpetual cycle of violence continues to interrupt his self-imposed exile, and he is forced to duel an enigmatic bandit claiming the title of Sith, it becomes clear that no amount of wandering will ever let him outpace the specters of his former life.’

Saw this insightful video earlier today on the SW: Newspaper Strips Omnibus and thought it may be of some interest…

Star Wars Legends: The Newspaper Strips Omnibus Overview | Russ Manning | Al Williamson

The blurb: ‘Join me for an advance look at the Star Wars Legends: The Newspaper Strips Omnibus from Marvel Comics by Russ Manning, Archie Goodwin, Alfredo Alcala, Al Williamson, Allen Nunis & Rick Hoberg. I take a deep look at the book and talk about what exactly it is.’

I didn’t realise it was 1096 pages! $115 is still a bit pricey - though can sort of understand why it is costs so much.

Hopefully free of the retcons the abridged versions had. Like removing the mention of other dark lords in the text of the novel for Star Wars. Though complete textual accuracy will be weird, like Obi Wan being Owen’s brother in return of the jedi. or Luke being blue 5 in the novel of Star Wars. the origins of the Emperor spoken of in the prologue being more Nixon and less Sith Lord. The vague notions in ROTJ that Kenobi tried to turn Anakin back to the good side. Training him was hubris etc.

gifted warrior, best starpilot none of that in the prequel. nor the slow seduction to evil.

After reading these novels and the thrawn trilogy and imaging the prequel how much disappointment was there, much.

I thought Yoda would be Obi-Wan’s Jedi Master. nor did I expect Yoda to ever brandish a lightsaber. Expected Boba Fett and Not Jango. Mandalorian troops fighting cloned Jedi in a clone war. Never did i imagine space taxes, jedi celibacy or midichlorians. Hayden Chistensen version of Skywalker killing Tusken children and Younglings, was the furthest thing from my imagination. I expected Vader to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights. To grow in power and threat, to secretly be a Sith assassin. Anakin be an actual hero of the clone wars, not a cowardly murderer and child killer. Who never wins a single lightsaber duel, except by cheating or murder in the prequel trilogy. and for Lucas to insist he is the hero of the Saga despite this not Luke. The Chosen one who brings balance to the force by killing Sidious, except he didn’t, that Disney movie says hi. the Rise of Skywalker. As I call it the Rise of Palpatine. Somehow Palpatine returned.

What would novels extrapolated from the originals 70s and 80s lore look like, I often wondered. Something grand and big in scope like Asimov, Or Herbert or Heinlein. I was thinking some grand Empire and an interstellar war. With the Jedi being like Knights templar/ Or Samurai warriors. Sort of like Lensman of the galactic patrol meets the three musketeers. Anakin being this bold and brash foolhardy swashbuckling hero. A man of zeal and adventure like John Carter of Mars or something. A cross between Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Not the Antihero of the prequel, nor the ineptitude of the prequel Jedi. I saw the Jedi as virtuous and thought they would be the guardians of peace and justice.

I guess Lucas could have even done the prequel as Macbeth. But I think he wanted more Oedipus trying to be cheat the oracle. Anakin try’s to prevent the prophecy of his dream and makes it happen. His turning evil is the catalyst for Padme to give up the will to live. We are meant to think he wasn’t truly evil, when he killed tusken children and women or murdered Dooku. He was merely bereaved by the death of his mother, angry that dooku took his hand. But the Younglings and killing the separatists was the final crossover, not killing Windu that was an accident.

1️⃣ Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear - by Alexander Freed (25th February, 2025)

The blurb…

'Before the Rebellion, the Empire reigns, in book one of a trilogy told through the eyes of Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera – for fans of Andor.

“In order to ensure the security and continuing stability, the Republic will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire! For a safe and secure society!”

With one speech, and thunderous applause, Chancellor Palpatine brought the era of the Republic crashing down. In its place rose the Galactic Empire. Across the galaxy, people rejoiced and celebrated the end to war—and the promises of tomorrow. But that tomorrow was a lie. Instead the galaxy became twisted by the cruelty and fear of the Emperor’s rule.

During that terrifying first year of tyranny, Mon Mothma, Saw Gerrera, and Bail Organa face the encroaching darkness. One day, they will be three architects of the Rebel Alliance. But first, each must find purpose and direction in a changing galaxy, while harboring their own secrets, fears, and hopes for a future that may never come, unless they act.’

2️⃣ Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss - by Rebecca Roanhorse (15th September, 2026)

The blurb…

Over a decade into the Empire’s reign, life under imperial rule has become routine. The days of the Republic have long passed into memory - if they are remembered at all.

Within the Senate, Mon Mothma and Bail Organa face dwindling influence, for there is no difference between the will of the Emperor and the direction of his Empire. Bail increasingly shifts his focus to support clandestine resistance efforts, knowing a successful fight against the Empire will come from beyond the halls of power. Meanwhile, Mon Mothma sees once chance to take a stand when she makes a horrifying discover about the lengths the regime will go to weaponize truth and loyalty. The Empire’s newest target: the next generation raised under the Emperor’s deepening shadow, including Mon and Bail’s daughters.

Across the galaxy, disparate rebel factions are rendered outcasts, branded criminals, and pitted against each other. On Ghorman, an idealistic student group seeks to make meaningful change, unaware of the ISB agent who seeks to sabotage them from the inside. Leaders like Saw Gerrera and Anto Kreegyr squabble and bargain to survive one more day against the crush of Imperial might. Trust is rare and betrayal quick. A distracted, disorganised resistance is one that is easy to snuff out.

There are few heroes…and no alliances.

When one of Gerrera’s partisans is captured by the Empire, time is running out for senators, outcastes, spies, and all those that desire a better tomorrow. What the prisoner knows could held the Empire eradicate any whisper of resistance, end any rebellion before it can truly begin - and ensure that the Empire’s truth is all the galaxy will ever know.

1️⃣ Rogue One (2016; film novelisation) - by Alexander Freed

The blurb…

'Go beyond the film with a novelization featuring new scenes and expanded material.

As the shadows of the Empire loom ever larger across the galaxy, so do deeply troubling rumors. The Rebellion has learned of a sinister Imperial plot to bring entire worlds to their knees. Deep in Empire-dominated space, a machine of unimaginable destructive power is nearing completion. A weapon too terrifying to contemplate . . . and a threat that may be too great to overcome.

If the worlds at the Empire’s mercy stand any chance, it lies with an unlikely band of allies: Jyn Erso, a resourceful young woman seeking vengeance; Cassian Andor, a war-weary rebel commander; Bodhi Rook, a defector from the Empire’s military; Chirrut Îmwe, a blind holy man and his crack-shot companion, Baze Malbus; and K-2SO, a deadly Imperial droid turned against its former masters. In their hands rests the new hope that could turn the tide toward a crucial Rebellion victory—if only they can capture the plans to the Empire’s new weapon.

But even as they race toward their dangerous goal, the specter of their ultimate enemy—a monstrous world unto itself—darkens the skies. Waiting to herald the Empire’s brutal reign with a burst of annihilation worthy of its dreaded name: Death Star.’

3️⃣ Catalyst (2016 book) - by James Luceno

The blurb…

Lauded Star Wars author James Luceno returns to pen an intense tale of ambition and betrayal that sets the stage for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

War is tearing the galaxy apart. For years the Republic and the Separatists have battled across the stars, each building more and more deadly technology in an attempt to win the war. As a member of Chancellor Palpatine’s top secret Death Star project, Orson Krennic is determined to develop a superweapon before their enemies can. And an old friend of Krennic’s, the brilliant scientist Galen Erso, could be the key.

Galen’s energy-focused research has captured the attention of both Krennic and his foes, making the scientist a crucial pawn in the galactic conflict. But after Krennic rescues Galen, his wife, Lyra, and their young daughter, Jyn, from Separatist kidnappers, the Erso family is deeply in Krennic’s debt. Krennic then offers Galen an extraordinary opportunity: to continue his scientific studies with every resource put utterly at his disposal. While Galen and Lyra believe that his energy research will be used purely in altruistic ways, Krennic has other plans that will finally make the Death Star a reality. Trapped in their benefactor’s tightening grasp, the Ersos must untangle Krennic’s web of deception to save themselves and the galaxy itself.

4️⃣ Rebel Rising (2017 book) - by Beth Revis

The blurb…

“It’s a recurring theme throughout all of Star Wars, but I hope it doesn’t sound like a cliché when I say, ‘Hope.’ Jyn is a character with one of the darkest lives and darkest fates of any other — I’d argue that her life is even darker than Anakin/Vader’s, because Anakin made the choices that put him on the dark path, and Jyn was thrust into it by twists of fate. But despite this horrifically unfair life, Jyn still had hope. There was always a strand of it, running through her as bright as a kyber crystal.” ― Beth Revis

‘Rebel Rising is a young-adult novel written by Beth Revis and published by Disney–Lucasfilm Press on May 2, 2017. It covers thirteen years of Jyn Erso’s life, between the opening and the main events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, when she was a rebel fighter alongside Saw Gerrera and survived on her own afterwards. An audiobook adaptation narrated by Revis was also released the same day.’

5️⃣ Guardians Of The Whills (2017; the book) - by Greg Rucka

The blurb…

Baze Malbus and Chirrut Îmwe used to be Guardians of the Whills, who looked after the Kyber Temple on Jedha and all those who worshipped there. Then the Empire came and took over the moon. The temple was sealed and the people scattered. Now Baze and Chirrut do what they can to resist the Empire and protect the people of the Holy City, but it never seems to be enough. When a man named Saw Gerrera arrives with grand plans to take down the Empire, it seems like the perfect way for Baze and Chirrut to make a real difference and help the people of Jedha. But will it come at too great a cost…

6️⃣ Guardians Of The Whills (2021; the manga) - by Jon Tsuei

The blurb…

The manga adaptation of the novel Star Wars: Guardians of the Whills, by Greg Rucka, revisits fan-favorite characters Baze Malbus and Chirrut Îmwe before they joined the Rebellion in the blockbuster film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Presiding over the Kyber Temple on Jedha, the Guardians of the Whills, Baze Malbus and Chirrut Îmwe, had hoped to maintain a peaceful balance despite the growing presence of the Empire in their Holy City. Yet they struggle to stay true to the Force as stormtroopers threaten to take over. When a rebel named Saw Gerrera appears offering them a chance to help Jedha, Baze and Chirrut must decide if they’re willing to compromise for peace, or if Saw’s plan is too dangerous to risk?

Star Wars: Guardians of the Whills introduces Baze and Chirrut before they meet the Rebellion members who turn the tide in the fight against the Empire in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Writer Jon Tsuei and manga artist Subaru bring the origin story of this fan favorite duo to life in a new manga adaptation based on the novel by Greg Rucka.

7️⃣ Cassian & K2SO (2017; one-shot comic) - by Duane Swierczynski

The blurb…

Rogue One - Cassian & K-2SO Special 1… is a canon one-shot comic book created to show how Cassian Andor met the Imperial security droid K-2SO prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The issue was written by Duane Swierczynski, illustrated by Fernando Blanco, and published on August 9, 2017 by Marvel Comics.

It was later collected in the trade paperback Star Wars: Rogue One Adaptation.

The events of the comic were not adapted for “Who Are You?”, the eighth episode of the second season of the television series Star Wars: Andor, which instead established that K-2SO was a security droid used in the Ghorman Massacre that Cassian salvaged after severely damaging it in his escape from the city of Palmo on Ghorman. Series creator Tony Gilroy was aware of the comic, however chose not to adapt the events, instead choosing to write a new origin for K2.

“Rogue One changed Star Wars. The grit and gravity of the tone. The doomed and selfless heroism. The Jedi-less cast of broken, grounded characters. There wasn’t a lightsaber in sight, but there was plenty of blasters, bloody knuckles, and scarred hearts. I have so much love for the original trilogy, but Rogue One has become my favorite of the films. So I was thrilled to be part of this 10th anniversary celebration.” ― Benjamin Percy

‘Star Wars: Rogue One is a canon comic series of one-shot issues published by Marvel Comics that celebrate the 10th anniversary of the film 2016 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It was first announced on February 19, 2026 and each issue focuses on characters from the film. The first issue, written by Benjamin Percy, was published on May 6, 2026, with the remaining four issues published in the following months.’

9️⃣ The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire (2024) - by Chris Kempshall

The blurb…

“So much of how we think about Star Wars is based around what we see of the rebels. But that leaves a big empty space for the Empire. What was their experience of ruling the galaxy and fighting the war? What would people think about the Empire once it was gone? I’ve always found the Empire utterly fascinating both as a fan and then as a historian. Working on Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy helped me think really long and hard about what in-universe historians might say about the Empire, but it only gave me a taste. I — much like Anakin — wanted more! That’s what this book has been for me and Beaumont Kin. The chance to fully and deeply explore the realities of the Empire and to show all of you what it looks like up close.” ― Chris Kempshall

‘Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire is a reference book authored by Dr. Chris Kempshall and published by Dorling Kindersley on July 4, 2024 in the United Kingdom and on July 9 in the United States. The book is written from the in-universe perspective of historian Beaumont Kin.’

🅰️ The Art Of Rogue One (2016) - by Josh Kushins

The blurb…

‘This book is a visual chronicle of the Lucasfilm art department’s creation of new worlds, unforgettable characters, and newly imagined droids, vehicles, and weapons for the first movie in the Star Wars Anthology series—Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In the same format and style as Abrams’ The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the book gives readers unprecedented access to hundreds of concept paintings, sketches, storyboards, matte paintings, and character, costume, and vehicle designs. The Art of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will stand as the definitive guide to the artwork and imagination behind the newest chapter in the Star Wars franchise and will delight Star Wars fans and cineastes for decades to come.

Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters), with production design by Doug Chiang and Neil Lamont, Rogue One chronicles the adventures of a Rebel cell tasked with a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor’s rule. The all-star cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Jiang Wen, and Donnie Yen.’

🅱️ The Art Of Andor (2026) - by Phil Szostak

The blurb…

'The official behind-the-scenes companion to the Emmy, WGA, SAG, Golden Globe, and BAFTA–Award nominated Disney+ series

Cassian Andor’s journey from thief to spy to rebel to martyr, and the stories of his allies, uneasy partnerships, Imperial schemes, and galactic revolution took audiences on an emotionally resonant adventure and The Art of Star Wars: Andor spotlights the exceptional work that made it all possible.’

Star Wars: Star Pilots - by Chris Kempshall

The blurb…

'Wedge Antilles – hero, warrior, star pilot. The only rebel to face two Death Stars and live to tell the tale.

Wedge confronted death countless times, in battles large and small, where split-second decisions often meant the difference between survival and a fiery demise.

Now, he tells his story, and those of the brave pilots he served with and elite enemies he fought against. Aided by unsealed archives from the New Republic, and unreleased interviews of Imperial and Alliance veterans, Antilles gives the definitive account of what it was to fight the Galactic Civil War from the cockpit of a starfighter.

The ships, tactics, and weapons, but also the quiet times and camaraderie, the moments of fear and despair, the thrill of victory and the aching loss of friends. This is the untold story of the galaxy’s star pilots.’

^ Star Wars: Star Pilots is written by Chris Kempshall and was released in the 1st week of October 2026. Like Kempshall’s prior work ‘Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire’, it is be an in-universe manuscript, written by Wedge Antilles — alongside several other pilots from both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire - after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, about their careers flying during the Galactic Civil War.

I’ve been looking forward to this book for quite a while now - hopefully it’ll live up to expectations - if it is anywhere near as good as his ‘The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire’ book, I think it will.

'Princess Leia risks everything to protect the Rebellion as she forges new bonds with Luke Skywalker and Han Solo—from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Star Wars: Lost Stars.

The Rebellion has just destroyed the Death Star, shaking the Empire to its core, but this victory has come at a terrible price. The planet Alderaan has been destroyed, and the Rebellion now must flee its base on Yavin IV.

Leia insists that she is the best person to unravel the clues and discover the cache’s location so they can establish a new rebel base.

And so Leia sets out on a desperate quest with her new friends Luke Skywalker and Han Solo by her side. Star Wars: Twin Crossroads

The blurb…

'After the events of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa train together in the ways of the Jedi. The siblings must confront the legacies of their birth parents Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, and their own diverging futures in the Force.

The second Death Star is in ruins. As the burgeoning New Republic pursues scattered Imperial forces across the galaxy, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa train on the remote planet of Ajan Kloss and walk the path of the Jedi side-by-side.

During this reprieve from battle, the twins grow their connection to the Force and their own bond as they shoulder the responsibility of carrying on the Jedi Order’s legacy. But each also carries a burden they struggle to share with the other. Luke loves seeing his sister excel but doubts his teaching ability when there is still so much to discover and learn. Leia, meanwhile, is determined to master these new skills, but she struggles with both what it would mean to commit her life entirely to serving the Force and the knowledge of being Darth Vader’s daughter.

Despite their doubts, Luke and Leia volunteer for an urgent covert New Republic mission to infiltrate the center of Imperial power: Coruscant.

Their quest begins at the Imperial palace, once the Jedi Temple, where they gain a new understanding of the former Jedi Order and Galactic Republic. The mission will be more transformative than either could imagine, as they discover the legacy left behind by their birth parents on a planet where some are still willing to hope. And though certainty is scarce, Luke and Leia’s faith in one another will help them each seek out the path they must ultimately walk.’
