The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released) — Page 608

The edit’s goal was to remove the “all” part for various reasons for this line, which is why it’s just “a/uh” instead.

“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”

My point still stands, even with the new line, more (hooded) Jedi behind the main ones would create a bigger impact/scene and show a balance between Rey/Jedi vs. Palpy/Sith worshippers

REY: “I’m… uh, Jedi?”

OLD WOMAN: “Rey who?”

REY: “Rey Goldblum.”

Was discusses 5x over, but having more jedi than those 4 breaks cannon.

this discussion is giving me flashbacks

the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural

Qui gon in cannon never learned how to be a force ghost. Only a voice, as seen in the clone wars.

Also its implied all the voices we hear are from the world between worlds.

Okay, I’m not going to be rehashing previous discussions.

I just wanted to share my experience as a casual Star Wars viewer. Even my girlfriend, who didn’t even realise we were watching a fan edit, said that the Jedi seemed so alone compared to the Sith.

It would seem more balanced, more of an even fight.

Well, the people in the crowd were just cultists really, I doubt any of them could actually use the Force. They just worshiped the dark side.

I would actually say that as soon as the 4 ghosts show up it isn’t a fair fight anymore. Palpy is kinda screwed lmao.

I love Palpy’s “oh sh*t” reaction when the four ghosts show up, it actually feels justified that he would stop blasting the fleet to confront Rey. It harkens back to Ben Kenobi’s line about becoming “more powerful than you could possibly imagine”, which we never really get to see in the OT.

It’s clear that the force ghosts have a higher power than what the Sith could ever hope to achieve through the dark side, and it’s so cool to finally see them step in to put a decisive end to the conflict. And even though we don’t see Qui-gon, he basically opened the path that lead to this decisive end, bringing everything full circle. It’s crazy that none of this is in the original movie and only through fanediting magic did we get a proper end to the Saga.

Those are baked right into the final product for V2, and were done by “nevertellmetheodds,” as listed in the OP.

This edit sounds amazing and might be enough to finally change my mind on this movie!
Could I get a link?

So, what’s next for Hal?

Well, I would like for all of my project to eventually reach a point that they are complete and that I can feel that they are. For the prequels, that’s achieved. For the sequels, that’s close to being achieved (need to do another revision for TFA, and who knows about TROS). For the originals, I feel there’s still better source material that will emerge in time, but that the ‘structure’ of the edits is complete.

Well I think we are just taking a break and awaiting when a Rey Nobody version of Ascendant may be possible. Not gonna lie, it’s been pretty quiet around here now that V2 is now out.

The name’s Lawson. Noah Lawson.

Back this time last year I was thinking about doing a bit of a community survey and maybe running “focus months” for idea generation and edit highlighting/comparison for specific movies, maybe it’s worth doing that now in a period of relative quiet?

I think that’s a really cool idea.

Are there any progress on the nobody version?

Most of the progress made to the more problematic scenes are posted in here.

Hal has said in the past that his planned approach for a ‘Rey Nobody’ cut of the film would be to implement whatever works best from there and slice it into what’s completed already.
