I think it makes more sense if Exegol was the place they went after Moraband fell, because we’ve already seen Moraband and there’s less reason for the characters to need to look for it. Especially since the character who initially says “Exegol does not appear on any star chart” is R2-D2, the one character who should know exactly where Moraband is, since he’s already been there.

Hmm, yeah, that’s true. Good catch. Maybe I’ll just try and change 3PO’s definition of Exegol then. Something like “Legend describes it as a lost temple to the Sith,” instead of “Legend describes it as the hidden world of the Sith.”

Yes please! This line always bothered me for that very same reason.

How about: “Legend describes it as a lost Sith world…” or something like that?

I know that some people removed the “Mustafar minute” from their edits and instead the film begins with Kylo’s ship jumping out of hyperspace.
So, I thought that maybe Mustafar could be re-inserted into the film, in a scene where Kylo rebuilds his mask inside of Vader’s castle
The scene would go like this:
-Establishing shot of Mustafar (ROS)
-Vader’s castle (Biomes)
-Kylo rebuilds his helmet (ROS)

What do you think?

I like that idea. I’d love to see a proof of concept of it.

Heya everyone,

Here’s a V2 of my previous post re lando’s arrival in corporating some aspects of the feedback I got. It’s still definitely far from perfect. I have barely any remote form of editting skills. Wanted to give some bigger “feels” of the galaxy fleet arriving. and been told that the luke overlay is cheesy (will probably remove that)

I added in boba fett and mando, because u do see a shot of the Slave I and a mandalorian fang fighter (for like a milli second of a milli second, if that counts for anything). I also got better sources for the deleted pilots scenes. A certain someone that I used, will likely be aged in collab with MR. Again, feel free to bash and maybe enjoy =D

It’s certainly an interesting idea. I’ve certainly imagined something like this since leaving the theatre but systematically speaking a lot of work needs to be done before it can work, not a big fan of that music change halfway through feels very out of place.

Regarding Boba Fett, I think it’d be confusing for casual movie viewers.

Ouch, the trailer music is selling to a tough crowd. I guess the struggle is, I’ve always interpreted that trailer music to be like glorious, hopeful and positive. I guess the hard part is giving the audience the “feels” that the galaxy has truly come together, like say pretend we common ppl, go about our daily lives but all of a sudden feel this vibe that world has truly become united for world peace (i made that up, but u get my geist). Like what seemed like the worst day of humanity became humanity’s best day. (corny, i know).

Well, then the regular soundtrack it is.

The casual movie viewers probably wouldnt even remember who boba fett is, but i digress. There’s a slave I type ship in it, so I saw it as my own personal fan service to add that. Similar to how I added mando in it. Who knows where the story goes as the D+ series progresses…

Ive wanted to add an N1 starfigher pilot, but I could get footage from TPM (as i know that pilot would be dead long ago). So i just see that shot as a placeholder.

You have to dub in the redlettermedia guys over the comm yelling, “Did you see BOBA FETT?!”

Hahahahahaha touché

Does the scene fancy the likes of ascendant? (yes I rly obviously and shamelessly imposing) haha

I think it’s really cool. The only potential yellow flag I have is that we don’t know where these characters are going to be by this point in the galaxy officially. Mando may die before now, something might happen to Boba in his show, etc. Hal’s usually pretty careful about disrupting canon in his edits, so there might be a worry with that.

Also, regarding the trailer music, I agree that emotionally, it fits the scene well - I was playing around with using it myself - but stylistically it doesn’t feel very “John Williams,” so that’s probably the cause for that concern. It would be like “Star Wars - rescored by Hans Zimmer.” Good music, but not what we’ve come to know as “Star Wars music.”

Thanks for the feedback Sherlock. Yeah, I suspected about boba and mando, so it’s just the “fan” jumping the gun until I see canon tells me otherwise.

Ah I see, John Williams is the theme to be consistent with. Well it’s always to have different audio tracks that I can interchange with. That’ll be something for me to work on

Hey, here’s a random thought…after the Falcon escapes from Iceberg Planet™ - either right after, or at least before the board meeting - what if there was another wide shot of the iceberg; but instead of TIEs flying in all willy-nilly, it’s a shot of the Knights of Ren’s shuttle approaching the landmass?

That way, we’d get an extra moment to breath in the movie, while also foreshadowing Boolio’s imminent decapitation. It would also help to portray the Knights as hunters/trackers, going after the information leak, rather than “guys who stand around with big, dumb swords.”

i love that idea! maybe one day if my masking skills can improve, i can use that shot but put in knights of ren ship.

tho i think the TIEs flying in adds tension to the moment because they’re being pursued. But perhaps adding this shot in after the falcon escapes by jumping into hyperspace, and then insert suggested shot.

Yeah, the TIEs are a must - otherwise they’d just pop up out of of nowhere in the next shot. In my head, I was thinking: The Falcon bursts through the wall, jumps to Hyperspace. The Knights’ ship flies into frame, implying that Finn and Poe just barely escaped in time, and then it moves towards the Iceberg (to murder Boolio off-screen).

Plus, since the audience wouldn’t know to whom this ship belongs yet, it would be add a layer of intrigue to the early part of the film. “Who’s this? They’re accompanied by an evil music cue…what’s going to happen next?”

Yeah that’s what I had in mind too. Insert knights of ren theme into it and it would click into ppls brains when we are actually shown them and their ship again.

Is there a Redux Ideas thread like this one but for Rogue One anywhere? I had a look but I couldn’t find one.

Maybe folks have been using the OT Redux thread?

There’s been a “XYZ Fanediting Ideas” thread for every movie that’s come out since TFA I think, but most of them have been abandoned. You’d have to dig kinda far to find it.
