Good find. So it is a cosplayer. Neat. That’s a really nice suit he’s got!
Any info on the origin of that photo? That doesn’t look like Prowse in the suit. In fact, I’m not sure that’s even an ESB production suit at all. Almost looks more like a cos-player. It’s worth noting he’s missing his robe and codpiece in addition to the cape.
It isn’t from ESB’s production. It’s taken from vaderbase’s deviantart page

So was this an unused/unfinished matte painting? It looks a lot better than the effect used in the film.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Apologies if these have already been posted (please delete if they been posted before in this thread, mods)
^ is that last image a fake / two images merged together / photoshop?
The FE Renegades thread; from the people who post ‘go kill yourself’, ‘fuck you’, ‘let’s throw abuse’, and more at OT staff & members. Four years on and still throwing accusations, slurs and abuse at the OT & anyone outside their Salacious Crumb filled clique. + FE Discord “to vent” more at the OT. Wook’s take.
^ Was there a female Bespin Guard in the actual released film? I don’t recall seeing one, I think it must be time to sit down and watch Empire again 😃
I must be missing something because I don’t see any women in that photo.

You could be right… not to the right of Lando?
I thought the guard was female because thought I could see lipstick and makeup. Though it could be just the lighting, or my poor eyesight and judgment!

Vader without his cape looks so weird
I like the look.
Now that I’ve thought about it, this is what my ideal Jedi Purge-era Vader would look like.
Just found this on twitter. Poster claims its a combo of rare & never been seen before:

An interesting moment at 4:55: Anthony Daniels testing a C-3PO bodysuit with a silver arm.
“You probably don’t recognize me because I have a silver arm now.”
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
That footage was incredible.

That was very cool! Thanks for posting it here.
great stuff.
thanks.
hope more finds will come… 😃
It’s been reposted on the official Star Wars Youtube channel without the GMA logos.
I just noticed that this shot of Luke in the X-Wing cockpit isn’t widescreen like most of the other shots.

Ditto on this shot in the Falcon cockpit.

Does anyone know why these weren’t shot in anamorphic? I’m guessing it has something to do with the blue-screens needing to be removed, or just with them being VFX shots in general.

I know they used VistaVision for filming many of the effects sequences in the OT. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Correct! And VistaVision has it’s own ratio.

Where were you in '77?
That new brief deleted scene of Han and Leia made my night. Seems like they got a lot of coverage of them having run-ins in the hangar and just decided they interrupted the pacing too much. Also, the outtake of the original “double kiss” in color is pretty great to have now.
I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.
What new brief deleted scene? I’ve seen a GIF of Han picking Leia up in the Echo Base hallway on Twitter but don’t know where it’s from.
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
Oh, thanks!
Harrison Ford’s alternate “I’m that one!” take in responding to Threepio’s rattling off the odds during the asteroid chase is also amazing.

Some cool alternate takes of Luke and Yoda here. Also, I think there’s a new low angle of the Super Star Destroyer for a second.
It would be really neat if someone put together all these little alternate takes/deleted moments and made an edit with them like they did in War of the Stars.

did anyone catch what looks like an Echo base interior wall behind the Falcon when they show footage of the arrival at cloud city in the previous video around 4:22 ? …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yix_9g_Ob74

The full size Falcon was built into the Echo Base set and it was probably difficult and costly to move so it probably made sense to re-use it for this shot. So I suppose the Cloud City landing platform and Echo Base hangar were built on the same sound stage?
