Was RO shot on film or digital?

Digital.

Ep.7-9 however were shot on film.

Looking at RO now I would never believe it.

Personally I think it looks distinctly digital (not a bad thing) but it’s probably the lens choice that’s tricking you, I’d imagine.

That and the really good digital coloring.

I wish Walt Disney was alive to have seen Star Wars.

Am I the only one who wishes the OT were the only films that were made? That the weird numbering was still just an odd thing? That all else created was just EU based on the classic films?

Nope, I’m in the same boat.

I hate Star Wars titles with references to Star Wars things in them.
Jedi, Sith, Force, Mandalorian.
Can’t quite say why, but it adds a level of… nerdyness(?) that I’m uncomfortable with.
The Mandalorian being the worst offender. Loved the show, absolutely hate the title. It’s a long, ugly, ungainly word & it’s total nonsense to the uninitiated or even casual fans.

I was looking through Amazon Prime and saw that there’s a ROTJ (Theatrical Version) available. I haven’t been able to verify this yet but for those who have, is this for real?

Never Mind

What a con!

Scott in the Comment Section of the supposed ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Theatrical Version)’ knows the score:

“I love the movie but this gets a one star because it is a lie. It says theatrical version. This is not the theatrical version it is the altered version where they added in scenes and changed music. I already have this version on dvd. I bought this only because it said theatrical version. I hate the changes to the movie and just want to watch it the way it was. Don’t buy this if you want the unchanged version or you are wasting your money.”

I hope Scott and others got their money back from being mis-sold a version of a film that the seller knows it is not the ‘theatrical version’.

The FE Renegades thread; from the people who post ‘go kill yourself’, ‘fuck you’, ‘let’s throw abuse’, and more at OT staff & members. Four years on and still throwing accusations, slurs and abuse at the OT & anyone outside their Salacious Crumb filled clique. + FE Discord “to vent” more at the OT. Wook’s take.

I don’t know if anyone else has made this observation, but I just realized it upon another viewing.

In ‘Solo’, when on Kessel, many people have caught on to the fact that the “Calrissian Chronicles” recordings that Lando is making are referencing the old Brian Daley Han Solo trilogy. That on its own is rather amusing, but I think there may be a deeper level to the joke.

Unless I’m mistaken, part of the concept behind the Legends rebranding is that they’re stories that exist AS stories within the universe. Combine that with the idea that Han Solo was a pop-culture hero in-universe and…

I’m reasonably certain there was a meta joke being made about the Daley Han Solo novels actually being stories of Lando that Han has gone and substituted his and Chewie’s names into.

I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.

If Lucas hadn’t decided to put SW on hiatus after ROTJ, if he’d decided to immediately go forward with a PT & ST (in whichever order), without deviating from the “new-SW-film-every-three-years” formula, we’d have gotten nine SW films within a 24-year stretch.

TRILOGY I

  • 1977
  • 1980
  • 1983

TRILOGY II

  • 1986
  • 1989
  • 1992

TRILOGY III

  • 1995
  • 1998
  • 2001

Have to say, I’m disappointed this didn’t pan out. It would’ve been nice to have gotten three SW films in the '90s instead of just one.

Interesting to contemplate, but that would have been a massive commitment for Lucas, who seemed a little burnt out on Star Wars after ROTJ. Would he have found directors up to the job? Would the Ewok movies have happened? Or Willow? Or the special editions?

Imagine a SW entry and The Last Crusade both coming out in summer 1989!

You’re making the precarious assumption she wouldn’t be into that thing.

Years ago when I was a board member of the spawn.com forums someone posted my favourite synopsis of the first SW movie:
(Paraphrased text) A peasant joins the fight against an authoritarian military government with the aid of a political dissident, a drug smuggler and his dog, and a religious fanatic.
