Well what doesn't help is evacuating the prision (and this is what I heard on the news, and I still can't believe this is true) and putting them up at the Superdome in general population without the proper gaurds. They let them rome free and walk out. That I can't believe what happened.

After going through 3 of these things last year (living in south FL), and Katrina this year as well I'm just amazed at ugly things have gotten. Hopefully with the recent events and the army finally bringing some aid will help restore order.

Printing out DVD Labels
Time
Based on your guys recommendations I picked up a Epson R200. So I'm looking forward to getting that as I'm sure it'll do a much better job then my Lexmark X73 all in one printer I've been using.

I wanted to pass this along to you guys on how to get the Epson R200 for roughly under $30. Once I get the rebate, that's roughly how much it'll cost me, plus I got a digital camera (though I'm sure it's crappy) for free. Just remember to add something small to get it above $100 and then add the digital camera to the mix. Then apply the coupon code the digital camera and PM the item. It should come out to $80+tax for the printer and you get a $50 rebate after you add the camera. I'm pretty happy I found that thread, so enjoy.

yes, but from the article it seems that it was developed by the US, not England. So I repeat, what does being friends with England have to do with anything.

Sorry to be unclear, when I 1st read it I thought it was England developing it, not us. I thought we had some collaboration with them, but I didn't realize we were developing it. My bad. Still glad we're the ones developing it and not the bad guys.

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- A U.S. Pentagon invention could make air combat resemble a battle scene from the movie 'Star Wars' with a laser so small it can fit on a fighter jet, yet powerful enough to knock down an enemy missile in flight.

Pretty cool stuff. I'm glad we're friends with England.

It's funny you guys still love the Flash Gordon movie from the 80's. I remember loving that movie also as a kid, but seeing it one day recently I couldn't believe how bad it was. I guess I've grown up lol.

Calling George Lucass. * j/k * You know eventually it'll happen. There just aren't any bright ideas in hollywood anymore. They're either based on comic books, books, video games, history, or do sequels or prequels. There's not a lot of new ideas anymore.

Superman Movie

Smallville supporters are fond of saying, "Christopher Reeve passed the torch to Tom Welling, and Bryan Singer put it out." I couldn't agree more. And regardless of tying-in to Smallville or not, it just makes more sense to start over with Superman, as opposed to Batman. Too bad we couldn't have had a reversal, with the Batman franchise picking up after Batman Returns, in which case Michael Keaton could actually reprise the role of an elder Batman. Instead we pick up after Superman II, a twenty five year old film.

First, Singer offered the role to Welling and he turned it DOWN, I repeat down. I don't think it was publicized or anything but that is what I have read on the Kryptonsite forums where this has been discussed many of times. He didn't want to become typecasted as Superman and John Schnieder (who plays pa Kent on Smallville) recommended to him to not take the part. Second, the 1st 2 films are used as more of a back story much like how the original Batman movie opened up (w everything set in place). They really confused people by saying it would "follow" Superman I & II but it's not to be a direct sequal. Though as HotRod said we all can agree those films shouldn't exsist so it's ok for this film to be a sequel to Superman II.

Also, yes Singer screwed up with the Jor El thing but that was after taking a 12 hour flight or whatever to comic-con. The fans in the audience then questionned him on other Superman facts and he got everything else right, so it was a simple slip up that I wouldn't make a big deal about. He also showed a 10 min clip of the movie (of which we saw bits of in the blog) and the audience loved it. They gave him a standing ovation for . From the 2 great X-Men films he gave us, I have no doubt he'll blow us away with Superman Returns. The guy has great respect for the comic and knows how to make great movies. I can't wait to see Spacey as Luthor, that's going to rule!

Haha, you beat me to it. Was going to post earlier but got side-tracked with work. Though shouldn't this thread be titled "Superman Returns" since thats the name of the movie?

Here's a direct link to the #22 blog which is outstanding IMO. Can't wait for the movie, I got chills watching the clips they showed at comic-con. Only thing I wished they would have showed a glimpse of was the standing O Singer got after showing the footage.

Before it came back on the air Family Guy was great. The new eps that have come back on, well have underwhelmed me. It seems like they're trying to do the LOL humor every 10 min where as before they did it about once a ep or even an ep and a 1/2.

The Simpsons was great up until S8 or so, then it's just gotten tiresome. It has a few eps a year that are LOL funny, but for the most part I might only laugh once per ep if that. I really believe TV shows hit their stride (for the most part) around S7 if they go that long or longer. It seems once they go past that they just rehash stuff over and over. Recent examples were The X-Files, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, and even Friends got a bit tiresome.

I plan to buy some cases and inserts to make covers soon, but at least right now I very much want to make a label for the Demo disc. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone?

@ Bizzle: Very cool covers, I liked your idea a lot. Though I'm wondering what was the font you used for the movie title, it looked a bit too condensed in for my taste. I'm not sure if it's the angle of the covers, or if you shrunk the font or something. It looks a bit odd to me, but maybe that's just me. Great job besides that.

You guys definitely have some talent and each of you should put up portfolio sites to show off your design skills. Are you guys in the graphic design field to begin with, or just do this as a hobby? Might be a new calling if it's just a hobby.

STAR WARS: The Torrents thread
Time
Well I watched the disc last night and it indeed was a very cool disc (and very helpful after downloading a couple of the sets and not being too thrilled with them on my set). I decided the Dr. Gonzo set looked best on my TV and wanted to go with that. Is it up on a torrent yet or do I have to get it from Rikter? I searched on myspleen and couldn't find it, though it could have been named something different and I missed it. What's the best way to get it? Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Email? Well, I guess I could, but considering most of the files are over 5 MB, and I am at work using their system.... you may just want to be patient.

... and about the cases, they are replacements for the 2004 and prequel DVD's... I have the DE covers created for the double wide cases as well as the regular sized single ones.

Yeah scratch the email idea, that wouldn't work at all. The only other thing I can think of is if you have FTP access I can give you access to my website where you can upload them there (and I'll post them there) if you want. Besides that, waiting doesn't hurt as well.

And please provide both double wide cases and single sized cases. That'd be much apprecaited. Thanks.

But yeah, she does look bad both in terms of body weight and her hair color. The hair color is for a movie role, or so she claims. And the weight loss is due to her trainer.

She looked so much better as a fuller-bodied redhead.

Thanks for the clarification Bossk.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant to say she lost all the weight and got a boob reduction was probably due to health reasons. She was in the hospital for a week or so. At the same time she did that, she changed her hair color from red to blond.

Different representations for different series/movies. In Lois & Clark, & in the Superman movies she had black hair, and Lana had red hair. In Smallville and Superman Returns, Lois is more of a burnette. In Smallville as well, Lana has black hair, but that's more b/c of Kirsten Kreuk, not the character I believe.

I'm with you guys, I'm not that much into blonds. But like Han Solo I'd date them if we had similar interests and got along well. But I'm much more attracted to women with other color hair, and red heads do rock. Lindsay Lohan looked so much better before her change, but I believe that was mostly due to health reasons (but I hate the blond hair). I think it's fitting that my 3 favorite babes are: 1. Jessica Alba 2. Natalie Portman 3. Allysa Milano. None have blond hair.

P.S. I agree with PSYCHO_DAYV, this probably could have started in the beautiful girls thread, but to each his own.

EDIT: Spelling error
