FAN EDIT REQUEST THREAD - Post your dream Fan Edits Here!
Time
Got a few ideas of edits for you guys that I'd love to see done.

He Got Game - I really like this movie, but HATE the scene at the end when Denzel "shoots" the ball sybolically to his son. Please, please remove this scene. There's a few other ones I wouldn't mind having taken out, if someone's going to do this I'll have to watch the movie again and I'll name them in the project thread.

Pleasentville - I just caught this movie on cable the other night and really hate the last scene as well. You know, when the wife is sitting between her men and wondering "what are we going to do?" I hate that.

And the big one. I don't really care about the movies above (if it came down to this one vs. the other 2), but would just about die for a quality HD transfer (if possible) for this movie.

Toy Soldiers - Can somone please do a transfer from HDNet? I love this movie, have probably seen it 75-100+ times now. Whenever it's on cable I always watch it. And it's such a pitty it's got such a crappy DVD transfer. It's in FULL-FRAME for crying out loud. If someone has access to HDnet and can capture movies off of it, I'd love to see this transfered.

Episode III on HBO in HD
Time
I saw it in 1080i, and must say WOW! It was so crystal clear, it was amazing. I thought it looked better (not sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me) then when I saw it digitally in Boston. Definitely a must watch if you can find someone who has HBO and a HDTV. I'd love for HBO to show all 3 PT movies back to back, that'd be great (obviously all 6 would be awesome). Hopefully we'll eventually get the uber HD set (OOT included) all presented in HD (whatever format wins). It was truely meant for the way for these movies were to be seen.

capturing HD premium movies
Time
Just curious, is there a way yet (before Vista comes out with cableCARD) to capture HD movies on the premium channels? I saw the Bladerunner DVD thread but didn't know how the source was captured. There are a couple movies I'd love to see transfered to DVD and captured to make screenshots, but they only run on premium channels. Is there a way yet?

Why I'm not so worried anymore
Time
I've always been somewhat confused by this. I've noticed a bunch of my DVDs (both anamorphic), I get 2 viewing angels. One, like starkiller and others have said do leave little bars on the TV. They're very miniminal, compared to letterbox (which leave huge black bars on the TV). I always thought this was letterbox enhanced for widescreen TVs. On other DVDs (especially recent TV shows, b/c of HD widescreen), they fill the entire screen, no black bars at all. What's the difference between the 2 anamorphic viewing angels? Is it a setting on my DVD player/TV?

the fight is over this time around. "Lucass" ha you sure are clever.

Sorry, should have been more clear (my bad). The fight's over this time around, but I fully expect to see something new next year, regardless of what Lucas says.

And, I thought the "Lucass" was really cleaver too. I know it was the 1st time you've guys seen it on these boards.

Exactly. Lucass is known for going back on his word, so I don't think the fight is over.

I suspect we'll get something new next year as well. The fact that he's releasing them this september tells me something. I agree with the post above this is probably a ploy to sell all those unsold 2004 DVDs. The fact that the 30th anniversary is NEXT year, well I have a hard time believing this is the only OOT release we'll see. I have a feeling he'll do something nice for that and hopefully fix the 2004 versions as well (yes more changes, but the set is broken). Next year I'm seeing a new box set with the PT, 2004 (hopefully fixed), and OOT cleaned up and in an anamorphic transfer with a bunch of extras we haven't gotten yet. Hell, we already know the footage exsists, it's IN THE EMPIRE OF DREAMS DOCUMENTARY for crying out loud.

EDIT: Spelling.

Make your voices heard! (again) - re the 2006 GOUT DVD being in letterbox format
Time
Great work guys, I'll definitely use Jim Wards address (the non PO one).

If you're going to do anything, be consructive, and don't act like a little pissy fanboy. Be appreciative that he's releasing them at all, but show your disappointment in how they're releasing them. If you act like a pissy fanboy, you won't be taken seriously (though it probably matter much anyway).

Regarding my OP, what were the other problems with the 2004 set besides the lightsaber and soundtrack? I'd like to include that in my letter as well.

EDIT: spelling and grammatical

Make your voices heard! (again) - re the 2006 GOUT DVD being in letterbox format
Time

Hey guys, I’ve been reading the various threads and have mostly stayed quiet just waiting to hear the details of the new releases for the OOT from Lucasfilm. But now with the news it’s only going to be letterboxed, well I think it’s time for our voices to be heard (again). I’ve actually have felt about writing this previously to this news, as I’m not happy that we’re just getting re-releases of the 2004 versions. I don’t mind buying those sets again (with the OOT), but I really want the issues (ie, lightsaber color, soundtrack, etc.) fixed. I also feel Lucasfilm should give us a $40 rebate for those that have bought the 2004 set to go toward these limited edition sets (if they’re just re-releases). I’m weak for buying that set, I know that LOL.

I feel now’s the time to make your voices heard. Instead of all the bitching, take the time to do something constructive. Voice your opinion to Lucas. Perhaps if he gets enough letters, calls, etc. he’ll change his mind (even though it’s a long shot). Hopefully with the dvd industry, they’ll persuade him even more. I plan on writing a letter to him, first thanking him very much for finally releasing the OOT on DVD. But then I’m going to show my disappointment in the reported news of it only being in letterbox format and not 16x9 widescreen. I wrote a letter back in 2003 voicing my displeasure on his announcement of him not releasing the OOT in DVD and did receive (probably a copy letter) back from one of his secretaries. The address I used then was:

George Lucas
c/o Lucasfilm Ltd.
PO Box 2009
San Rafael, CA 94912 USA

Is this the most recent address? Don’t know if it switched.

Besides the 2 problems with the 2004 (I listed), what were others?

I also feel this is part of his mater plan. He knows he’s running time to make a profit for the OOT on DVD with the new HD wars coming up. It also seems to be an odd time for him to finally release the OOT on DVD, with the 30th celebration (wow, I’m actually going to be 30) next year. I find it very hard to believe he won’t have a big box set (w all the extras that we didn’t get on DVD yet) next year as well. Hopefully for that set, we’ll get the OOT DVD in 16x9. I suspect for whatever format wins the HD war, we’ll eventually see a release for that. So we probably have at least 2 more releases to go (on different formats).

But at least in the mean-time I still plan to write Lucas and hopefully persuade him to release this set in 16x9 for us. If he gets enough letters and calls, who knows?

spider-man 3

I liked the first movie, but the second movie sucked. Sure it had it's moments, but I wasn't all that impressed. I hope that third one is better. I know nothing about the Spider-Man universe, but I'm really anxious to see what kind of a bad guy Topher Grace will make in this film.

Wow, we have pretty opposite opinions. I thought the 1st movie was ok, nothing special. I actually liked Daredevil better then it (so that says a lot right there). In terms of the 2nd, I thought it was great. It ranks right up there with Superman (1978) and Batman Begins as superb (A grade) movies for me. I thought it was really great. I'm also very interested to see where they go with the 3rd and think Grace can bring. I think he'll be great.

Daredevil: The Man Without Fear - The Fan Edit (Released)
Time
Anyone here actually like this film? I find I'm one of the few people I know who actually liked it. Thought it was one of the more realistic superhero films and done very well. Main reason I probably liked it though was b/c of Jennifer Garner. I hated Elektra though, thought that was aweful. Another reason was b/c I'm a Collin Ferrell fan, loved him as Bullseye. Would be interested in seeing an edit, though didn't really think it needed to be edited much.

Lightsaber Choreography Competition
Time
Thought you guys might enjoy this Lightsaber Choreography Competition. Thought it was pretty cool. I thought 1, 10 & 13 were the best. This would be a cool little project to do, I'd like just a picture of me holding a lightsaber (with the effects) maybe in a costume, LOL. Wasn't sure what section this best belonged in, so I through it in here. If a repost, sorry and just delete my post. Enjoy.
