Nope. We're still playing Zombie Island and then Underdome. And there's a few 'chievos from Secret Armory I still don't have. (We didn't know the order for the DLC, and apparenlty we're doing it backwards)

I really blew it... I had ~$8m in cash and I knew I would need about that much to do the Bullet tour one. Since I died so much getting the bobbleheads, pizza, and oil cans, I'm down to about $1.5m. I should have done the bullet one first. :(

I just finished Crysis 2, which I really enjoyed but was glad to check it off. There were a couple of achievements in that I could have gone back and gotten pretty easily, but I wasn't really tempted. Games like Borderlands- getting all of them has a certain allure... but I think I've officially broken my quest for random achievements in games like Crysis 2.

ODST

There's a lot of depth to ODST if you're paying close attention. My first two times through it were co-op and I totally missed a lot of the story. Also- the Legnedary ending is quite a bit extended... so if you play on a lower level, make sure you at least go watch it on youtube.

Are you reading the Halo books at all? Fall of Reach, First Contact, and Ghosts of Onyx are the good ones... I'd steer clear of The Flood and The Cole Protocol for sure... but the three I mentioned do a good job of deepening the Halo story/world/mythos.

Segue.

So... Tex Murphy didn't do Tim Schafer/Double Fine kind of good, but I'm pretty happy with how it ended. They made their goal about 75% of the way through the campaign and ended up making just over 130% (~$600k) by the end (last night). There's a little more through paypal too. Now that the funding part is over, I just hope I'm not disappointed. :)

Segue II.

Also- I got those three Achievements on Borderlands today. The three "collect random stuff from Claptraps in the Robolution DLC" ones. I had to leave the game on all night and half of today, but other than that it only took a half hour or so of actual controller-action. Now that I have them, I've decided it's a good way of detecting people you should never trust in real life... So, C3PX (if that is your real name) I no longer trust you. Or myself.

Segue III BLOWS UP.

THE END.

I'm not even completely sure if Engineers = Space Jockey.  The Space Jockey looked like it was 20 feet tall and the Engineer looked half that, at most.
I've read some fan theories out there which run with that idea. One is that the Engineers are emissaries of the Space Jockeys or something like that, and that their Space Jockeyesque suits are some form of bioengineered outfit that allows them to interface with Jockey technology.
But the size difference remains. The chair is also smaller than the one in Alien.

You can come up with whatever Fansplanations you want... the fact is- it just doesn't match and it doesn't matter to the people who made it as much as the people who watch it want it to.

You're missing the point of the theory. The theory posits that the Space Jockey in Alien would be a real Space Jockey, ie. what you see is what you get - that is the creature itself, not an external suit - while the Engineers in Prometheus are the "men in suits", the emissaries, servants, slaves, etc. of the true Space Jockies. They, being two different species, wouldn't be the same size for that very reason - they are not one and the same.

I don't think I'm missing the point. It's like saying that I've trained my dog to drive my car, but before he can sit in the driver's seat, he has to wear a Richard Nixon mask. Even so, my dog isn't six feet tall and can't reach the pedals, so either he can't drive a car, or he would have to have a half sized car designed for him, but why design it for a dog sized human instead of just for a dog? Which is the same as saying- he can never drive a car meant for a human.

For this theory to work- that the engineers as seen in Prometheus are different than the Space Jockey as seen in Alien, but dress up like the SJ to interface with SJ technology. This would only make sense if the SJ suit made the engineers the same size as the SJs or that the SJ tech we see is sized for the engineers only (since it's so much smaller than the SJ tech we see the SJ in in Alien). If you're making it sized smaller for the engineers, why make it only work for an engineer in an SJ suit? Make it work for an engineer in an engieneer (birthday) suit.

Again, I stand by this theory- it's a goof. They wanted the SJ to be huge in Alien because that was cool. In Prometheus, they wanted the SJ's to be more relatable to the humans, so they shrunk them. Yes, it's a visual continuity error... but I assume they thought it was the lesser of two evils.

Here's the direct fund raising effort, they are looking to get 30k.

https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/1JIQb

This Heart of Dorkness seems to be a way to strum up interest and a way to create additional material for a DVD release.  and explain why the project languished and had these odd starts and stops.  It's not impossible but would be odd to get a theatrical release at this point.  John Daley doesn't look the same anymore.  But that's no reason not to try.

Thanks, none! I will take a look.

My friend at work is in love with this movie, so he was a little miffed when I told him I had very mixed feelings on it. I didn't want to completely unload on him, but he asked for an example- so I gave him one.

I say- "If you're running away from a giant frisbee that's rolling toward you... Which way do you run? If you see your friend trip and fall, and all she has to do is roll to the side, don't you think you could run to the side to get away from it?"

He says, "No, because it's in space."

"In space?" I say.

"Yes" He says. "In space."

Then the lights dim and I say, "Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnn SSSSSSSSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEE."

The End.

Can't argue with that. It isin space.

Do you think the average citizen of the Star Wars galaxy would even be aware of the Force?

The jump from the Rebel's hideout to DSII looks pretty darn near instantaneous.

Star Wars also has the Alderaan->Yavin trip take some time.  Han sits back, stretches out and argues with Leia while they're in Hyperspace.

If it makes you feel any better, in TRM, Naboo->Tatooine only took as long as it took Ric Olie to say "look over there."

Yes, that makes me feel much better.
