Possible news of new Star Wars EU movies
Time

I can recognize that he was certainly trying to be funny in 6 days 7 nights.  I, in particular, just didn't find him to actually be funny.  :(

Running down his IMDB, it appears that I tried to like him in Air Force One, and I thought he was alright in the Clancy movies (though I do prefer Alec Baldwin (I know, that's weird!) as Jack Ryan) but Sabrina was the last movie I thoroughly enjoyed his performance.

Everyone here has seen Mosquito Coast, right?  I saw that for the first time 7 years ago or so... I think it's an excellent film, a unique role for Ford, and quite the little gem.

Zombie Games?
Time

Left 4 Dead, House of the Dead, Dead Rising, Resident Evil, and, to some degree, Dead Space are all marketed as zombie games.  I meant to list them for completeness, but I was more interested in the games not really marketed as such but feature Satan's Unholy Army anyways.

It made me think: This doesn't seem to happen in movies.  Either it's a zombie movie and it has zombies in it... or it isn't and it doesn't.  Can anyone prove that wrong?

And RE: Half Life 1 vs 2.  I never thought that there was much of a genre shift between Half Life and its sequels.  Rahter that there were genre shifts within each Half Life game.  You go through puzzle sequences, sneaking past alien monster sequences, vehicle sequences, shooting monster sequences, shooting army guy sequnces,  sneaking past army helicopter sequences, etc thoughout each of the games.  I also don't recall HL1 being any scarier than HL2.  The scariest part of all of the games to me were the rattlesnake-head crabs in HL2.  In the first game, the thing that freaked me out the most was the moment when you're crawling through the air ducts over a room full of electrified water and head crabs... and then the duct breaks and it dumps you down into the room.

All of that being said... do go back and play Half Life if you haven't played it.  I played it a couple years ago with an HD mod that increased the poly count on the character models and replaced the ingame textures with high poly versions.  I heard once that they had made a Source engine remake, but that they weren't releasing it.  Maybe you can find a copy of that and enjoy the updated visuals, sounds and physics that way?

The Ric Olie Observation Thread
Time

From what I could tell (and I'm still ascending the Ric Olie Observation Tower, to the point at which C3PX's mob funding ran out, so my observations are somewhat limited) The ice in the bathtub was water, but the liquid was slightly watered down whiskey.  I did take time to note, however, that the whiskey level did not change as the ice melted.

Ferris- I'm glad to know that you think that ABC is a horrible horrible man even if it's based on his mad attempts to freeze whiskey as opposed to the little detail of the fact that he drugged me and stole my kidneys!

Zombie Games?
Time

I have a bud (Porkins and The Came From Behinds guy) who claims to only play zombie games.  I tried to get him to try Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and it didn't occur to me to tell him it was a zombie game.

It got me thinking... there are a ton of zombies in games you don't think of as zombie games!

Halo Series
Half Life Series
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Trilogy
Spider-Man Web of Shadows
Puzzlequest!
Monkey Island Series
Too Human
Call of Duty World at War

Etc...

Update:

Minecraft
DarkSiders
Deadly Premonition
Mass Effect
Fable (2)
Tomb Raider Series
Castlevania
Epic Mickey

Once I would have liked to see a film with an older wiser Hamill Luke, but after Indy 4 with an older Ford Indy I've realized Lucas would screw it up.

 Touché!

I was mildly surprised to see Harrison Ford in a movie with Brendan Fraser since I thought they were different caliber of actor.  But then I realized that I haven't enjoyed Ford in a movie in a long time...  Probably since before Six Days and Seven Nights (my first recollection of disliking a Ford performance).  What happened to this guy?

Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time

There are new details on the next Prince of Persia game.  It's Sands of time 1.5.  Now the trilogy is complete!

I'm always excited by a new PoP.  I was looking forward to a true sequel to PoP7, but I do prefer Sands of Time trilogy so I'm a little torn there.  And I'm worried that it's being rushed to corelease with the film... so that's rubbish there too.
