Do people like remakes and reboots here, or hate them ?

Geez, I guess I'm the only person on this forum with enough discerning taste to hate the new Star Trek movie. ^_~

Oh Gaffer, I am reminded why I love you so very much!

It's like that now, is it?

Fine.  Gaffer, you can have him.  I give up!

(But for the record, I also didn't care very much for the new Star Trek... I wouldn't say "hate", but I didn't love it.)

Dark Knight Rises - Now that we know the cast
Time

But back on topic, I can't say the casting info has thrilled me.  I'm also waiting for the title to change.  It needs its own identity, unless it's part 2 of a three part Dark Knight trilogy and Batman Begins is just a prologue.

I assume Hardy and Hathaway will be good because I trust Nolan enough.  I'm still hoping Talia is in the movie too... just because Catwoman is so... obvious.

Looks like Terminator Fans have a petition of their own
Time

I miss The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  MAN! what a great show...

If you lower your expectations, Terminator 3 might actually surprise you.  I was against it from the start, heard it was terrible, then was forced to watch it and found that I actually quite enjoyed it.  Not T1 or T2 greatness, but still above average.  And I liked Salvation as well.  Maybe resetting my expectations with 3 helped 4 as well... but harmy, you might as well give them a shot and make your own opinion.

Question About The History of Originaltrilogy.com?
Time

The earliest version of this site that shows up on archive.org is from March 2003, and basically all it is is a picture that says "Han shot first!" and a coming soon banner.

I found this site in early 2005 (I think Gaffer and I registered in the same month, now that I think about it) looking for the MagnoliaFan edits. And once I got here I took my first step into a larger world, so to speak. :P

That certainly contradicts my memory of the focus of the site, originally.  Am I remembering something else/something older... or does the memory just cheat like the devil?

Maybe we need a petition to get the O-OT.com back.  ;)

Question About The History of Originaltrilogy.com?
Time

As I recall, the site was to get the OT on DVD (since DVD had been well established for some time and no announcement had been made for Star Wars) and there was little emphasis for the "Theatrical" versions because few of us were aware that such an emphasis was required.  I think we all assumed that any DVDs would contain the original versions, and that the inclusion of a Special Edition or Special'r edition would be a bonus.

Oh, to be that young again.  :(

The announcement in 2004, at first, seemed to be a victory until we started realizing that we wouldn't get the O-OT.  If the purpose of the site previously was to get SW on DVD (and possibly to hook the people up with laserdisc rips), the purpose of the site then became to get the O-OT on DVD.

A lot of people cited this as proof of "they'll never be happy with anything- they've been crying about the OT on DVD, not they're crying about the O-OT on DVD, and in 2006 they'll cry about the O-OT on DVD not being anamorphic, etc..."  But I think it was more of a misplaced trust that a lot of us had that we didn't need to overspecify what we wanted.  When we said we wanted the OT on DVD, we clearly meant a "watchable quality" version of the O-OT.

I don't like Apple
Time

My biggest complaint about Apple (users) is the sense that PC (users) are out to get them.  Um... didn't they start that mess with the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" commercials?  Sure, PC guys are on the defensive now.  Apple seems to be the biggest source of disinformation on the subject anyhow:

Macs:
Music
Movies
Cool
Games
Internet
Girls!
Hip

PCs:
Spreadsheets
Ugly ties
elbow patches
thick glasses
high waisted pants
(and certainly no internet, games, or media (or sex))
