It's pretty clear from the way that Vader looks at the Emperor, looks at Luke, looks at the Emperor, looks at Luke, and then yells "NOOOOOO" that he's in it to save Luke.
Yes, it's the NOOOoooOOO what clinches it. For years, I wondered what could possibly be going on in his head. Maybe he twitched... Maybe he fell asleep and was startling awake. With that helmet on, it's really hard to tell his emotional state.
I never liked RotJ because the ending was so confusing! WHAT IS VADER DOING? IT MAKES NO SENSE! I would tell myself. But now that he says NOOOoooOOOO! It made me pretty sure this is what is going on: He doesn't like what is happening. At least, I'm reasonably confident in that, now with the added NOOOoooOOOO and all.
However it still is the matter of some debate, as CatBus has illuminated. Perhaps in the next revision of RotJ, he will say:
Vader: I won't let you kill my son- you b$@#%! Nay- rather I will pick you up and throw you hence, into the heart of the space station which you love! Oh, the irony- that you have no heart, you life ruining cur, and should be thrown into a metal heart! Just like the one which you gave me- not to say you actually gave it to me, but by the events which you manipulated came into play the cybernetic heart which beats in my chest for the son which I now know means more to me than life! Have at thee!
(then he throws him into the shaft)
Vader(con't): There. It is over. He is ended. And, anon, I shall be as well. After six movies, I have redeemed myself. Verily, I have returned. And a Jedi I be, at last. Thus, ladies and gentleman, The Return of the Jedi.
Luke: You can't die!
Vader: Deny me not, my son. I enter now, with only my deeds and my name, into the great unknown. The undiscovered country.
Luke: Star Trek 6?
Vader: Tis a metaphor for death, my son.
Luke: Oh.
I think that would remove all doubt about some of the ambiguities. The NOOOoooOOOO helped, but this would really seal the deal. And, if it didn't... Ric Olié could be added to summarize the finale. Perhaps at the Ewok party. Or, perhaps, his force ghost can join the trio and he can explain it all then.
Like... adding a girly scream to silent Luke... and then taking it back.
The way he originally envisioned it.

I played the early WC games back in 1990s:
+ more animated cutscenes
- which consist mainly of talking (subtitles) faces
+ asteroids
- that usually kill you after a successful mission
- sprite-based targets (no vector graphics) are harder to lead
- you fight furry cats
I also got the feeling I'm on a modern USNAVY carrier... it can be considered as + or -
I had more fun with WC:Privateer.
Only WC3 outdid TIE Fighter (both 1994) with its textured vector objects.

Planet Killing Space Station CHECK
Of course there was a planet killing station. Should imps start to build refrigerators instead?

I still need to see this. Can anybody suggest theatrical or Director's cut for a first viewing?
I think they're both "Director's Cuts" but one version is longer. They produced both cuts simultaneously and both were released theatrically, but the longer one only went to a few venues. Art houses, mainly.
I'd go with the longer one. The "short" one is already long, so you can't avoid length. But everything in the long cut fits together nicely.

Also- Wing Commander games were better X-Wing games than X-Wing.
*flees*
Take it back. Right now.
I'm with him, or else I'll go disturbing early storyboard Vader on you, xhonxi! Which arm do you like the most?!
I can't take it back, I already fleed.
Flue.
Flighted..
Floateded.
Fleuwe...
I left already.
Temple of Doom- not the worst Indy film since 2008.
Amazon has BioShock 1 and 2 Steam keys on sale in a bundle for $5.

See, I still don't get the TOD hate. I saw it and was as blown away as I was by ROTLA. It's a different movie, a darker piece even more mired in [Clue (1985)] never gets old for me and is easily one of the best ensemble pieces in the last 50 years. My favorite Tim Curry performance bar none.
Clue is the definitive Tim Curry for me. I think the majority would say Rocky Picture Show... but they're wrong. :)
I'm going home to sleep with my wife.

I'm on the quest where you need to get all the things to save the air right now. It's quite good, wish I had gotten into it sooner, already waiting for a Steam sale on Bioshock 2. Similar to how I reacted to Mass Effect, where I just didn't invest myself in it a lot.

If you get tired of waiting for a Steam sale, and have above average trust in your fellow man, you can probably pick up a cheap Steam key here. I've bought ~10 things from people there, and have yet to get burned.
But be warned that the PC version of Bioshock 2 is a little off- it requires GFWL (even the Steam version) and has no available DLC (due to no GFWL marketplace anymore). The DLC for it is quite good and still available for the console versions. There is also no controller support built in.
You can't peel grog, matey!
Stealth Steam Sale on Monkey Island Special Editions. Both games for $3.50 in a bundle.
Yarr!
We just had a Pirate Themed Birthday party for a friend of mine at work. We all wore eye patches and did a gravelly version of Happy Barrrthday.

Humble Bundle sale on the X series (X3, et al.).
I don't have any of these... should I get the first couple, or spring for the full pack?
V is the new one. And this has motivated you to pick up IV, or was that a typo?

Never mind that, how much for the TARDIS and the dog?
And the Big Daddy legs, and the Hulk?
You do, I can totally tell.

Holy carp, I found it! This is the first computer game I ever played. Originally called Wizard 1, the name was changed to Oldorf's Revenge because of confusion with Sierra's games.
Reminds me of the one that Tom Hanks played in Big. Wait, is that the right movie?

DoubleKO- are you going to join the Steam OT.com group? I can pretty much guarantee you'll be player of the week by the end of the month.
Er... I don't have Steam. It's a bit of a thing with me.
I don't play games online, so I don't want my games inextricably tied to the internet. If I move somewhere with no internet (a matter of a few kilometres around here) I want to be able to install and play the games that I've paid for. I've pirated games that I've bought just to get them working without Steam.
Point-and-clickery continues; I'm almost half-way through Broken Sword and really enjoying it. Keyboard head-banging has been reduced.
That's the worst pitch for Player of the Week I've ever had the misfortune to read.
Though I do hear you. I've put a lot of eggs in the internet basket. Here's hoping it holds.

I'd prefer if the one-offs were just that- One-off stories about characters and places we haven't seen and not prequels or origin stories about characters we already know.
Ah, a Tales of the Mos Eisley Cantina sort of job?
Or the Star Wars Tales comics?
That could be pretty good. There are some decent stories in those books.
But then again, we could be treated to the saga of how IG-88 became DSII.
Or R5-D4- the Jedi Astromech droid who saved the galaxy- by shorting out his perfectly fine motivator.
