For fun, I tried to rewrite the Star Wars sequels based on the EU and the old drafts of Lucas. Part 1: Characters
Time

This is a very rough idea that still needs improvement, but I toyed with this idea on my head since the release of Episode 9 and just recently I tried to translate my thoughts into writing. This is far from perfect but anyway:

Kira Solo
https://preview.redd.it/for-fun-i-tried-to-rewrite-the-star-wars-sequels-based-on-v0-8yl6de3tj2td1.png?width=875&format=png&auto=webp&s=c17809a72208c2d0c3ce0cd972a7c860df5ff8c1

Kira Solo is the main protagonist, the daughter of Han and Leia and Jason’s sister. Kira is a bit like how Leia was in the OT and Anakin in Episode 2: Very reckless, aggressive, arrogant and impulsive. She is very talented in The Force which can be her weakness. Luke wants to guide her just like Yoda and Obi-Wan instructed him, but he feels some darkness inside her which scares him. In Episode 7, Kira is still a rookie and a Padawan to Luke. She believes she can redeem her brother who turned to the Dark Side like how Luke redeemed Anakin. Kira is on a mission alongside Clieg Whitsun to liberate star systems that were enslaved by the Imperial remnants. Clieg and Kira fall in love, but they find themselves in the middle of a galactic conflict, and while she feels that there is too much weight on her shoulders. In Episode 8, Kira is on her final tests for Knighthood; Luke tries to guide her into letting go of Jason, but she struggles, which mirrors in a reverse way Anakin’s arc in Episode 3. Kira and Clieg are in a constant conflict with Jason throughout Episode 8, and the Episode ends when Kira is defeated by her brother. Episode 8, however, ends when Kira is finally a fully fledged Jedi Knight. In Episode 9, Kira flirts with the Dark Side and her conflict with her brother heats up. Kira and Clieg should stop Jason’s plan of taking over the entire Galaxy. Kira represents Anakin Skywalker’s legacy, while her brother represents Vader’s legacy.

Clieg Whitsun
https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-rx1ywv6cpwsd1.png?width=739&format=png&auto=webp&s=052231b61609d27d9e2e062a203934ac06afde7b

A spy in the service of the New Republic. A space James Bond. Was raised by a wealthy family. Charming and calculated. He is a loner who believes he can do everything alone, and at first he and Kira dislike each other. In Episode 7, he and Kira are assigned to a mission together and they struggle to work together. Clieg views Kira as a reckless girl who is carried by her family’s legacy, while Kira views Clieg as an arrogant and sneaky spy. They eventually learn to work together and in Episode 8 they are developing a relationship. Clieg’s father was a supporter of The Empire, but Whitsun had a strained relationship with him. In Episode 9, Clieg is targeted by mobsters from his past and needs to take them down alone as Kira deals with her brother.

Montross (Young Denzel is how I imagine the character)
https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-qbjv0bpfpwsd1.png?width=506&format=png&auto=webp&s=8d3998835b98d8cc4bf56062b925e1c27e964cde

A Jedi Knight in Luke’s Order. Powerful with the Force. Have a rivalry with Clieg and is sort of a foil to him, but they become friends as the trilogy progresses. He is like an older brother figure to Kira and watches out for her.

OT trio
https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-a7k2m2sdeysd1.png?width=349&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b2b37a2980b003a32a1586697c62e857fe9b2e2

Luke - Luke is the Leader of the New Jedi Order. His Order is struggling and is running out of students. Luke trusts Kira and puts a lot of weight on her shoulders. Luke tries too hard to instruct Kira the same way Obi-Wan and Yoda instructed him, which can be his weakness. He believes he can redeem Jason like he redeemed his father, but slowly loses hope. Luke’s arc is to learn to be his own man instead of copying Obi-Wan and Yoda. In Episode 7 Luke is a bit of a reverse Obi-Wan: He leads and tries to rebuild the Jedi Order and is seemingly at the top of his game, but he is not calm, stressed, and sometimes his exceptions from Kira are too high. In Episode 8 and 9 Luke’s order is running out of students which nearly takes his faith away, but he slowly regains balance, and is learning to become a true Master rather than copying his Masters.

Han - Han Solo is a retired War-Hero who settled down in Coruscant and is tired of the war, but agrees to go on a one, final mission in Episode 7 to stop the Imperial Remnants. He is a bit like Bill Clinton. He sacrifices himself in the final Battle (which is what Harrison Ford always wanted)

Leia - Leia’s character in this version of the Sequels is loosely inspired by Hilary Clinton. She is a struggling Senator and a polarizing figure in the New Republic. She is a “bogeyman” for Imperials. Leia leads the diplomatic war efforts while being an aspiring Senator who seeks to become Chancellor.

A leading General in the War, he has ties to the Underworld which he uses for the Republic.

Garm Bel Iblis
https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-5itl0rmyeysd1.png?width=241&format=png&auto=webp&s=af86768d261c70ecb20371c68e4c306b1183b29c

Chancellor of the Republic. Anti-Empire Idealist. Have a strained relationship with Leia, they don’t trust each other, and he does not believe in her way of fighting in the War. Gets voted out after the coup.

Kyle Kataran
https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-qtko7746fysd1.png?width=465&format=png&auto=webp&s=f374e495add7888633a4f5ac772ffe6246deb543

Jedi Knight in Luke’s Order

THE DARK SIDE

Jason Solo/Darth Caedus
https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-2qqnv4tbfysd1.png?width=896&format=png&auto=webp&s=02959d0ebb3fc6dfad166212ddfd4aaea9d7a792

The son of Han and Leia, Luke’s nephew, Anakin’s grandson. A former Apprentice of Luke who the Dark Side corrupted. Jason idolizes his grandfather, Darth Vader, and believes that Vader was close to bringing order to the Galaxy and that Anakin Skywalker was his weak side. Espaa Valorum, the Leader of the Imperial Remnants, mentors Jason. Caedus starts the trilogy as conflicted and unstable, pulled by the light side, much like how Anakin Skywalker was in Episode 2 but in a reversal. He has a rivalry with some officers in the Imperial Remnants. In Episode 7 he gets defeated by Luke who chops his hand and shatters his confidence. His arc is a reversal of that of his grandfather and a Dark reflection of OT Luke: Luke went from a naive and whiny boy to a warrior and learned how to become a Jedi Knight, while Jason goes from an unstable young warrior to a true menace and learns how to conquer the light within himself and become a true Lord of the Sith: He is guided by the prophets of the Dark Side and a Sith Holocron which contains old recordings of The Emperor that were meant for Anakin Skywalker , and eventually descends further to the Dark Side, becoming cold, calculated and ruthless, mirroring Darth Vader. He succeeds where his grandfather failed, in his view, and he vows to enforce order by any means. His arc is a mix of Zuko and Azula from Avatar, Michael Corleone, Homelander and more.

Espaa Valorum

https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-80vh1hg1gysd1.png?width=358&format=png&auto=webp&s=984a466ae0f75bf3f6c8b690a15e17b9239f46f2

Jason’s mentor, an Imperial aristocrat and a Crime Lord who took over organized crime and what’s left of the Empire. A rival of Luke and leads the Imperial Remnants. While he is not a Force User, he has great knowledge on The Force and is a very dangerous threat, so much that Jason seeks for his guidance.

Talon

https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-u13zad04gysd1.png?width=347&format=png&auto=webp&s=b50c516fe51fd95fc86c346ddfe0f899e466f28d

An Evil Sith Assassin and the second student of Valorum. There are tensions between her and Jason in a way that reflects dynamics of Han and Leia in Episode 4. She is a bit like how Darth Maul was in Episode 1 and Azula from Avatar. She was raised by Valorum since she was a child and is like a daughter to him. She is cunning and ruthless, talented in the Dark Side though her potential is lower than Jason’s. While she is a Dark Sider, she has redeeming traits and is not pure evil.

Baron Orvan Kadar

https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-w9btbdcbgysd1.png?width=655&format=png&auto=webp&s=5b037994c13e2e6dbc04163e9963e1170f707779

A very wealthy businessman and a fanatic Imperial idealist who does not believe in The Republic. Was a loyal Supporter of Darth Vader and The Emperor and believes that the Galaxy thrilled under their regime. Uses his massive business empire and ties in order to advance Imperial goals in the Galaxy and attempts to smash restrictions and regulations on his business and criminal Empire. He was originally in the inner circle of Valorum, but due to Jason’s heritage, he betrays Valorum and pledges his allegiance to Jason. He funds some of Jason’s operations and adores him.

Prophets of the Dark Side

https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-ntpgu6iegysd1.png?width=316&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d92f9751e184cfbdef0b0f2eb9000674b0ee791
Evil prophets who are guiding Jason in his trial on Mustafar to become a true Sith Lord.

Hux
https://preview.redd.it/star-wars-sequels-based-on-lucas-drafts-expanded-universe-v0-4ueswrehgysd1.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=1f238476c3f55451e6e9285ec22776eaac1ba59e

A talented, charismatic and ambitious Admiral, fanatic Imperial idealist. Son of a wealthy crime lord from the Unknown regions. Has a rivalry with Jason. At first he is suspicious of him, but after Jason outmaneuvers him and Valorum, he becomes loyal to him. Became Chancellor in Episode 9. He is ruthless and cunning, though hot-tempered.

My Star Wars Prequels rewrite based on the EU and Lucas' drafts, Episode 2: Dawn of the Jedi
Time

Episode 2 is inspired by “The Godfather”, “Taxi Driver”, “1984”, “Dune”, “Valérian and Laureline”, “King Arthur”, “Gone with the Wind”, “Blade Runner”, “Willow”, “Lord of the Rings” and “Back to the Future 2”.

-Episode 2 takes place 10 years after Episode 1, we are at the peak of the 3rd Clone Wars.
Episode 2 opens in Alderaan. Palpatine was just reelected and extended his term. He declares that from now on, The Republic will become “The Empire”.

-He visits the Planet and there is a failed assassination attempt on the President. Anakin and Obi-Wan are pursuing the assassin, Oxus, who works for Darth Maul and the House of Mandalore. We see how Anakin’s worldview changed due to the War: His attitude became more aggressive than in Episode 1, more pessimistic and hawkish, shaped by the War. While Obi-Wan politely tries to solve the Crisis, Anakin handles it by force.

--Anakin and Obi-Wan are brothers in arms, best friends.

-Obi-Wan reminds Anakin about what Yoda told him in Dagboah: “While the dark side is quicker, easier and more seductive, it isn’t more powerful than the light”. Kenobi, while he trusts and loves Anakin, tells him that he needs to be patient and find balance within himself to truly unlock his potential. Anakin understands.

-Maul established himself as a political leader who hunts down Republican troops and the political rival of The Republic. He creates his political force in the Outer Rim and through criminal organizations.
Alderaanians adore Anakin, and again, like in Episode 1, the audience experiences the High Society of the Republic through Anakin’s eyes, who was raised as a poor boy from Corellia. Anakin became good friends with The President. During the party, Anakin invites Nellith to dance. While Bail is a bit jealous, he and Anakin are on better terms and now Anakin’s social status allows him to hang out with Nellith.

-Palpatine greatly expanded government control during the war after the chaos and crime that spread in the Galaxy. Many Senators were bribed. Corruption, bribery, and terror have reduced the High Council to all but a devoted few. In a discussion between Obi-Wan, Bail and Anakin, Bail expresses his worries about the direction of The Republic after Palpatine starts to appoint Governors from his political party and after The Republic was rebranded into The Empire
Bail tells Obi-Wan about an alliance he is building, if Palpatine will take things too far.

-Anakin, as a leading Jedi-Knight, and under Palpatine’s orders, killed some of the Leaders of the House of Mandalore at the time between Episode 1 and 2. Anakin and Nellith became a couple but are in an on-and-off relationship.

-In an Imperial Base on Alderaan, The Jedi Knight Minch informs that one of the biggest Cloning facilities was located on the Planet of Had Abbadon V. Meanwhile The Jedi and the Senate want to send Anakin on a diplomatic mission to the Planet of Utapau.

-Anakin offers to target the leaders of the House of Mandalore and torture them until they surrender. Obi-Wan is a bit conflicted with Anakin’s brutal methods, but Palpatine is impressed and praises him.

-Nellith volunteers to join Anakin with her droids C3PO and R2D2.

-Bendu and Clieg Whitsun tell Obi-Wan that while Anakin became the most powerful Jedi, he has a lot of anger. Obi-Wan denies it and is confident that he trained his student just as well as Yoda.

-Obi-Wan and Bail Organa, alongside Bail’s Alien sidekick Burtt are sent to the Planet of Had Abbadon V to investigate and stop the large cloning facility that is in there, led by the wealthy Clone Master, the trader baron Orvan Kadar.
Kadar is a “space Tony Montana”, with mixed elements from people like Lucky Luciano

-Meanwhile, Darth Maul blackmails a group of scientists to help him advance the Death Star’s construction. They are targeted by evil space pirates

-During Anakin and Nellith’s flight, they are targeted by House of Mandalore’s ships. While Anakin is the best star pilot in the Galaxy, Anakin and Nellith’s ship crashes at the Planet of Kessel. In Kessel, Anakin and Nellith see how poor, corrupt, and violent the Planet is. Anakin explains that this is why Law and Order must be enforced no matter what. Nellith finds herself somewhat agreeing with him but with a lot of doubts.

-They are attacked by a tribe of locals that knocks Nellith unconscious. Anakin is brought before the leader of the tribe to prove his bravery. Eventually, he challenges the Leader of the tribe to a 1 on 1 battle with no weapons and wins easily, earning the tribe’s respect and becoming its Leader.

-While Anakin and Nellith are in love, their different Political views are explained: While in Episode 1 they shared similar views, in Episode 2 Anakin supports Palpatine and Tarkin and believes on Law and Order and that everything is legitimate to bring Order to the Galaxy, while Nellith is much more humanist and believes in Peace. Their differences aren’t affecting their relationship and Anakin expresses his desire to have a family with Nellith and hand his son his Lightsaber. (Using real-world politics, Anakin is a Neoconservative while Nellith is a Liberal)

-In the Orbital City of Had Abbadon, Obi-Wan and Bail Organa are targeted by House of Mandalore troops that are after Organa. Burtt nearly gets killed protecting Bail but survives. Obi-Wan, Bail, and Burtt are going undercover pretending to be smugglers, and are attempting to spy on Kadar. As they are noticed by some officers of the House of Mandalore, they are finding themselves targeted again.

-Kadar is a wealthy crime lord and a former member of the wealthy clone-tribe of Ashardi

-Anakin and Nellith meet many different Aliens and people who are suffering under the House of Mandalore.

-Meanwhile, for the first time, we are introduced to The Emperor. During The Emperor’s conversation with Maul, The Emperor explains that Maul needs to conquer Had Abbadon V and murder the remaining members of the Senate from the Alderaanian Party. The Emperor further explains his plan: Use Had Abbadon’s resources to fund the construction of the Death Star. Maul kneels and agrees

-In Kessel, there is a violent massacre against the locals who rebelled against the House of Mandalore. Anakin loses control, commits a brutal slaughter against the Mandalorian troops. Anakin outsmarts some of the seniors there by pretending to be Maul and then catches them off guard, killing them brutally.

-In Had Abbadon V, Maul captures Obi-Wan and Bail

-Maul feels a disturbance on the Force. He talks to the Emperor who explains Maul’s mission: To kill Anakin Skywalker.

-Anakin senses that Maul is in Had Abbadon V, and insists on going there alone. Nellith forces him to take her with him.

-Anakin, Nellith, DV-4, R2D2 and C3PO are arriving at Had Abbadon V, and an amazing Battle starts. Burtt, Obi-Wan and Bail destroy the cloning facilities of Had Abbadon

-Obi-Wan urges Anakin to go with him and leave the planet as the Battle is over and they will bring everyone to justice - but Anakin refuses. Obi-Wan tries to stop him but Anakin pushes him and goes after Maul by himself. Nellith goes with Anakin.

-While searching for Maul, we see Anakin becoming more aggressive, starting to mirror his future self and this is where we hear Vader’s theme

-Anakin finds Maul in a subverted Vader vs. Luke, where Anakin is the one who surprises Maul. Maul taunts Anakin and reveals that he used to be a bit like him - A boy from the outer rim, but he was found by the Black Knights of the Sith, the Dark Jedi Knights, and by their Lord - The Emperor. Anakin uses the Dark Side like we saw him earlier, and shows a level of power that surpasses Maul. Anakin chops his hand and knocks him down. Maul is shocked and for the first time seems terrified. Anakin stares at him in a dark and scary look; like he is a machine. Nellith urges Anakin to bring Maul to justice, but Anakin strikes him down.

-Arriving at Coruscant, Anakin receives a standing ovation for killing Maul.
We see Obi-Wan and Bail talking with some human soldiers about the future alliance, but they are still not sure what to do.

-Anakin goes to Palpatine’s office. His office was changed to a throne room. Palpatine turns around. We see the whole view of Coruscant from the background. The two start to talk, Palpatine further tries to corrupt Anakin. Palpatine slowly reveals his true identity to Anakin, as the true Emperor of the Dark Side. Anakin is terrified, but Palpatine offers Anakin to take his rightful place on his side. Palpatine reveals to Anakin that he is older then he can possibly imagine, and that only through the Dark Side Anakin can bring order to the galaxy and have the family he always wanted. He tells him to imagine all the good he can do, and that he can sense his anger and fear of losing Nellith. Palpatine reveals to Anakin that some Jedi Knights, including Obi-Wan, are creating a Rebellion against their Empire. Anakin looks at the view of Coruscant and bows before a satisfied Palpatine.
In the background, there are broadcasts of Tarkin declaring that anyone who opposes the Empire will be hunted down. Nellith looks worried.

-Obi-Wan and Bail are meeting some Jedi Knights and human soldiers we met earlier. They agree to form an Alliance.

Is there an Outline for Lucas' original ideas for the OT/The original Journal of the Whills?
Time

Is there an Outline for Lucas’ original ideas for the OT? I know he originally wanted to do some things differently for example:

-Luke’s sister is a new character named Nellith

-There is another Emperor

-Boba Fett is the villain of the next movie

And also the original Journal of the Whills which incorporates some of his first ideas, where can I read all of this or get more info?

Characters

Anakin Skywalker - The 19-year-old main protagonist. He is long-haired and has a ponytail and the lower part of his hair. He is a naive orphan from Corellia who never knew his parents and his only friends are Owen Lars and Beru. He is a romantic, idealistic teen who dreams of being a Jedi Knight defeating tyranny and fighting for The Republic in “The Clone Wars”, which he believes is a Force of Good. Anakin is bullied by the local thugs of Corellia and is saved by Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master who senses that Anakin is uniquely strong with The Force. Obi-Wan invites Anakin to join him in a journey toward becoming a Jedi Knight. Anakin refuses at first, influenced by Owen who doesn’t want him to go after Obi-Wan in some “damn fool idealistic crusade”. Anakin eventually joins Obi-Wan, in an adventure influenced by Luke’s journey and The Classical mythical “Hero’s Journey”.
Obi-Wan Kenobi - A powerful Jedi Master who serves the House of Organa in The Clone Wars, discovers Anakin and takes him under his wing. He is the last Apprentice of the legendary Master Yoda. He insists on training Anakin despite The Jedi Masters’ refusal. Obi-Wan is Owen Lars’ brother and there is some hostility between them.
Nellith Arkady - An Alderaanian aristocrat who is going to marry Prince Bail Organa despite not wanting the marriage. She is assertive and strong-minded, feels she is being a “slave” to the high society of Alderaan and of her family, and is a bit headstrong. She and Anakin bond and she becomes his love interest in a love triangle between Her, Anakin, and Bail.
Lord Maul - A mysterious dark-side warrior who was raised in the “Dark Worlds”, Maul is the Apprentice of the mysterious “Emperor”. He leads the Clone Army against the Republic and develops a grudge against Anakin. He is a brilliant and cunning military strategist and a ruthless Jedi killer who also has a political agenda of his own.
Bail Organa - The Prince of Alderaan, the Leader of the House of Organa. He is a space Errol Flynn mixed with Prince Barin from Flash Gordon, charismatic and charming, and is supposed to marry Nellith. He is good friends with Obi-Wan Kenobi and suspicious of Xon Palpatine. He eventually decides to join the War efforts to protect his people and helps to form the rebel alliance alongside the House of Organa.
Master Bendu - While Master Yoda is on Dagobah and is not a Part of the Jedi’s, Bendu is the Main Jedi Master. He is old, wise and balanced, the first student that Yoda trained.
President Xon Palpatine - The candidate of the Imperial Party for the presidency. A sneaky politician who runs on the platform of completely eradicating the House of Mandalore by using Force. Anakin finds himself agreeing with some of the ideals of the Imperial Party and Palpatine sets his eye on the Young Man.
Mon Mothma - A friend of Nellith and an aspiring Young Senator.
Mala Creel - A blue, female Twi’lek Jedi Knight and a colleague of Obi-Wan Kenobi, takes part in the Battle of Alderaan.
Clieg Whitsun - The second Apprentice of Master Yoda and a Jedi Master who is second only to Bendu.
Jedi Knight Montross - A black-skinned Jedi Knight who fights in The Clone Wars for the House of Arkady. He is powerful and cunning and while he is on good terms with Obi-Wan, he is sort of the opposite of him.
Garm Bel Iblis - The candidate for Presidency of the Alderaan Alliance and a mentor to Bail. The political rival of Palpatine, gets defeated by him in the elections. He is a tough, but honest man and a dove when it comes to the War.
Knight Antilles Windy - A Urellian Jedi Knight (Urellians are green-skinned Aliens from the original concept of Star Wars. Han Solo was originally meant to be a Urellians)
Governor Hoedackk - A Clone Master who is the mastermind behind the Clone Army and governs Star Systems in the Dark Worlds.
Admiral Tarkin - An ambitious but racist Admiral who assists Palpatine in the elections. He promotes a Hawkish stance on the War.
Owen Lars
Beru Lars
Bail’s father
Palpatine’s entourage

—-------------------------------------------------

  • The Episode opens above Coruscant. Coruscant is meant to have similar vibes to that of New York. THEN, a giant ship is capturing a republican ship, and a Dark figure, Lord Maul, is heading out of the ship. A short fight starts there; Maul is accompanied by a Boba Fett-like troops and he slaughters the guards. Maul then meets Governor Hoedackk, who tells him that another Legion of Clones is ready. Maul is satisfied, we see a small scale of the “Clone Wars” and Maul orders his troops to prepare their battleships.

  • There is a cut to the Planet of Corellia. Corellia has a barren, rocky landscape. The atmosphere is very thin, with most of the air being provided by factories on the surface. Ancient tombs and ruins. We are introduced to our main protagonist, Anakin. We see Anakin’s life: He is only friends with Owen Lars and Beru and is bullied by the local thugs. We see Anakin’s desire for adventures while Owen tries to convince him to stay away from it as the Galaxy is dangerous to the violent Clone Wars. There were already multiple Clone Wars. The 2nd One ended not so long ago and the 3rd one is already raging.

  • Anakin is nicknamed “Kane”

  • Anakin rushes off to fight back against his bullies which also introduces us to his bit of a hot temper, after he is attacked brutally by the thugs - Anakin is saved by a mysterious figure (Homage to Miyagi saving Daniel in Karate Kid) - who is revealed to be Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan reveals to Anakin that he was sent to the outer rim to investigate Governor Hoedackk and Maul’s illegal deals and the sources of funding to the House of Mandalore. Obi-Wan gives Anakin more background about the Clone Wars. It is revealed that Obi-Wan is Owen’s brother and there is hostility between them.

  • Obi-Wan reveals that he senses that The Force is uniquely strong with Anakin, stronger than anything he felt before, and offers to train him. Anakin rejects at first and Owen tries to keep Obi-Wan away from Anakin. Still, Anakin, having naive ideals to become something “special”, later agrees to follow Obi-Wan in his “idealistic crusade”. Anakin identifies with Obi-Wan’s ideals more than with Owen’s pessimistic worldview. Anakin agrees to join Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan has a droid named DV-4 who develops a connection to Anakin.

  • Darth Maul slaughters resistance groups in Kessel, taking over cloning facilities. Due to the Clones’ growth problems, we discover that Maul wants to invade Alderaan which has advanced cloning facilities.
Anakin and Obi-Wan arrive in Coruscant, we are introduced to Bail Organa and Nellith Arkady. Nellith Arkady and Prince Bail Organa of Alderaan are going to marry due to their family’s arrangement. Bail is interested in Nellith, but she is not interested in him. They are on friendly terms despite some of the hostility between them. It is revealed that Bail and Obi-Wan are good friends as Obi-Wan is serving the house of Organa during the Clone Wars.

  • Anakin falls in love with Nellith the moment he sees her and is disappointed to learn that she is going to marry Organa. Obi-Wan requests to train Anakin as his Apprentice; The Leaders of the Jedi Knights, Master Bendu and Clieg Whitsun, aren’t sure if he is ready

  • In Coruscant, Anakin attempts to talk with Nellith and he discovers they have some things in common; Search for identity and belonging. Bail notices it and develops hostile feelings towards Anakin. Obi-Wan tries to convince Anakin that Nellith is not for him.
Through Anakin’s eyes, we meet different Jedi Knights that are meant to be memorable like the supporting cast of the OT like Knight Montross, Clieg Whitsun, Mala Creel, Jedi Knight Marstrap, and more. The Jedi Knights are like the Knights of the Round Table.

  • Meanwhile, Maul is ruling the conquered Planets with an Iron fist alongside Hoedackk who wants to use the Alderaanian facilities to gain more wealth and power. Both understand that the Alderaanian facilities can help solve the growth problems of the Clones. We see the scale of the war with Maul hunting down human soldiers.
The candidate of the Alderaanian Party for Presidency is Garm Bel Iblis. Iblis presents a dovish worldview and seeks to bring peace.

  • The Alderaanian aristocracy tells Nellith that she can’t hang with low-classers. Nellith, however, becomes in love with Anakin and it seems that she enjoys not listening to the High Society of Alderaan. Obi-Wan notices it. Anakin and Nellith’s romance is similar to the romance in Titanic. The Alderaanian Aristocracy is a bit racist towards aliens and arrogant toward people like Anakin.

  • We are introduced to New Races of Aliens, meant to be memorable and expand the lure.
The Jedi Knights are noble and legendary Knights, like the Knights of the Round Table. Each Knight is memorable andunique. We see a glimpse of their mightiness but discover that ever since the War many Knights were killed. Anakin wonders why The Republic isn’t using Clones as well, and Obi-Wan explains that Cloning is an illegal technology that is only used by the House of Mandalore, which is why The Republic is morally superior.

  • Anakin and Obi-Wan share the same humane, conciliatory, and even a little naive worldview
Other supporting characters are Mon Mothma and Admiral Tarkin.
There is some lore background to the Mandalorians. The Mandalorians are a Clone Army with Boba Fett-like armor. Maul’s associates are acting in the old Italian mob style (the likes of Al Capone)

  • Obi-Wan introduces Anakin to the High Society Elite of Coruscant. Anakin struggles to fit in and it is very noticeable that he is not one of them.A rivalry continues to be developed between Anakin and Bail Organa over Nellith’s heart.

  • Palpatine and Tarkin are using a bit of a racist rhetoric. They seek to restore Order to the Galaxy via force, establish a Republican dominance over the Galaxy, and win the War.
Anakin, who was raised in Corellia since he was born, is shocked when he is introduced to Coruscant and Alderaan. Anakin’s innocence is quite obvious when he cannot hear Obi-Wan talking to him since he is “still recovering from the shock of seeing such a different Galaxy than what he was used to”

  • Bendu refuses to allow Kenobi to train Anakin, sensing much anger in him. Obi-Wan is confident he could train Anakin just as well as Yoda, as Anakin is a good star pilot who can be a Cunning Warrior.
Obi-Wan gives Anakin some basic training with a Lightsaber, Anakin struggles to keep up and quickly gets defeated by Obi-Wan.

  • While he plans on Invading Alderaan, Maul kills Jedi Knights and human soldiers that we met earlier which builds him up as Obi-Wan and Anakin’s main rival.

  • Other planets that are introduced are Chandrilla and Planets which Maul conquers.
The rivalry of Anakin and Bail heats up as Anakin and Nellith get closer.
Obi-Wan and the Republican troops discover Maul’s plans to construct a weapon with an Unprecedented power: The Death Star.

  • Maul, his troops, and the House of Mandalore are invading Alderaan. Obi-Wan tells Anakin not to get involved and stay in Coruscant, but Anakin insists on following him and Nellith, highlighting his struggles to let go.
An amazing battle starts, Anakin steals a ship and assists Obi-Wan in the space fight. It is revealed that Anakin is a great Pilot due to his time in Corellia, and eventually he destroys the battle ship of the House of Mandalore. Anakin discovers that Maul wants to kill Nellith

  • Obi-Wan goes after Maul. An iconic fight starts. Anakin and Nellith are fighting together against Maul’s troops. Anakin is not skilled and finds himself saved by Bail

  • Maul defeats Obi-Wan. Anakin does not listen to him and attempts to fight Maul on his own. Maul taunts Anakin and tells him he feels anger and fear in him. Maul easily defeats Anakin and cuts his hand.
There is a ceremony in Alderaan. Despite Anakin’s loss to Maul and his low skills in Lightsaber and The Force, his piloting skills won the day and he is hailed as the Hero of Alderaan. It is revealed that Bail and Nellith’s wedding was canceled. Anakin and Nellith are watching the sunset of Alderaan and they kiss passionately.
Palpatine wins the election and becomes President and is impressed by the Hero of Alderaan who blew the ship of the House of Mandalore.
    Obi-Wan nicknames Anakin “Skywalker”

What the Prequels' atmosphere and aesthetics would have been like if it was based on the EU and released on the 90s?
Time

I’m writing a fanfiction of an alternate Star Wars PT, and I’m trying to base it on the Pre-PT EU with stories like Thrawn and Dark Empire. So my question is, What the Prequels’ atmosphere and aesthetics would have been like if it was based on the EU and released on the 90s? Planets? New Alien races? Starships? etc

Do you think Sebastian Shaw was "meant" to be Anakin?
Time

Sebastian Shaw is older then Alec Guinness, while Vader is described as a Young Jedi and mocks Obi-Wan calling him “Old Man”. So my question is, regardless the reasons George had Shaw as Anakin’s Ghost, do you think he ever imagined Anakin as someone in line with Shaw and that Anakin was supposed to be like Shaw? Or you think that he was always meant to be someone similiar to Hayden’s Anakin?

Which Pre-Prequels Anakin you imagined and think would suit the best the Pre-PT Star Wars Universe?
Time

The first Anakin is a mirror of Luke. A Young Jedi prodigy and his journey resembles the journey of his son. He is young and brash. You can maybe even compare him to Jacen Solo.

The second Anakin is a responsible and respected Jedi Knight perhaps a bit like TCW Anakin.

The third Anakin is more in line with Sebastian Shaw.

So which Anakin would have been ideal? Which actor would suit each Anakin? (Don’t use Hayden or Lanter)

Just get Mark Hamill and have him do his Joker voice.

Okay, jokes aside, I think Jake Gyllenhaal would have been an interesting choice. This was around when Donnie Darko came out, so he can definitely pull off the dark side of Anakin.
At first I wasn’t sure about DiCaprio, but after thinking about it this was around when he did Gangs of New York and The Aviator, so I can sort of see it, since this was when he was playing more intense and dramatic roles.
Someone else said Heath Ledger, who I think would have been good. Probably wouldn’t have happened at that time, but it’s an interesting proposal.
Or hell, just do a few rewrites and I think Hayden would have been fantastic. He looks the part and he has some good moments when the dialogue isn’t getting in the way.

As the younger Anakin, Haley Joel Osment would have been a better choice than Jake Lloyd. Or Devon Michael (the other kid they had in the Phantom Menace making of.) His audition showed a lot of promise. Especially when he said the line “I won’t always be.” That part made me genuinely sad when I first saw it.

Dicaprio looks today a lot like Sebastian Shaw, he would age nicely into the role

If Anakin was a pilot and cunning warrior, I picture someone like Han Solo, but also headstrong and foolhardy like Luke.

He sounds like someone who willingly joined up to fight in the Clone Wars and wasn’t a Jedi, that he was discovered to have such talents at an older age by Kenobi who was his friend?

An actor of that caliber in the 1990s who could have pulled off a Harrison Ford type, but someone with a darkness to them. Val was good as Madmartigan a Han Solo like character, I don’t know if he’s charismatic enough though.

He just wouldn’t have the smuggler or slacker thing Han had he be more about duty, loyalty and the cause. Someone bored by moisture farming, his brother Owen wanted him to join the family business, but he left to join the clone wars and never came home, became Darth Vader. Does Owen think he died or knows he is Vader, that much was always in doubt. I do accept he blamed Kenobi for Anakin never coming home from the wars.

I always imagined him as starting as a Luke-esque character and then ages into a Proto-Vader. As Luke is often compared to Anakin in the OT. What do you think about Jude Law as a late 90s/early 2000s Anakin?

DarthStarkiller1234, who would you have gone for to play Anakin, and also Kenobi?

Depends when the trilogy is released. Lets say Mid 90s/early 2000s? Then River Phoenix If he had not passed away at that time. Jude Law can also be great. If we are going towards a mid 80s prequels, Val Kilmer. He would look boyish enough in the mid 80s and can age nicely into the more menacing, Vader-esque Anakin.

How the EU and the OT described Anakin Skywalker, Palpatine and the Jedi Knights?

It would be cool to see a timeline for that pre-Prequel era, with events and also character bios. Including links to actual sources like the films, WEG sourcebooks, guidebooks, novels, comics, games and any other stuff like Making Magic and Behind The Magic CD-Roms. Or even a single thread covering those events and characters, their life and lore pre-PT.

Some OT threads that have covered what you are posting about (from a quick look around the Indexes on here):

What if The Prequels were based on the Pre-PT EU and were more “OT Accurate”
Were the Jedi supposed to not be allowed to get married, have children or any possessions when the OT was made?
At what point did Tatooine robes become Jedi uniforms?
OT lightsaber colours; and some waffling on about the various colours used across the OT & Expanded Universe
Wars, organizations, relationships, and galactic history before the Prequels
Putting The Original-Original Trilogy’s Prequel Story together
Implied starting date of the Empire from OT dialogue; + character ages + when certain events took place
Did G. Lucas ever intend to portray the Jedi as a flawed institution in the Prequels? Or was it added later in the EU?
Original Trilogy vs The Prequels: inconsistencies, retcons, plot holes and discrepancies… (‘50+ issues’ list)

Some OT film drafts and character threads for the OT are in An Index for Original Trilogy Discussion

There is also a section in the ‘An Index for General Star Wars Discussion’ for this topic; with many relevant threads:

‘Star Wars before the Prequels (with the PT ushering in George’s ‘nu-SW rules’) : life and lore from both the Original Trilogy & EU’

Edit: I thought I had deja vu! You posted asking about ages of characters here just a month ago?:

How old Anakin and Obi Wan were originally supposed to be?

Ah yeah I’m really starting to get into the Pre-PT prequels so I’m posting a lot of questions if its okay

Star Wars prequels based on the old drafts of George Lucas and the old Expanded Universe - Outline
Time

Its a second updated draft, rough idea can be seen here

https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/An-alternative-take-on-the-Star-Wars-prequels-based-on-the-old-Expanded-Universe/id/111193

The Clone Wars were a series of deadly wars that occurred 35 years before A New Hope and are raging through Episode 1 and Episode 2. The Clone Wars were fought between the "House of Mandalore ", an Alliance of corrupt corporate barons named “The Clone Masters”, seeking to overthrow the corrupt and “lost” Old Republic and replace it with a regime that will bring Utopia. The House of Mandalore were united by the Bpfasshi Dark Jedi, Black Knight of the Sith Maul

. The Clone Masters are using an illegal technology, cloning; they created clones of Mandalorians, an ancient race of Warriors, and unleashed a madness on the Galaxy, “The Clone Madness”, unstable clones who are grown in less than a year.

The House of Mandalore is a totalitarian theocracy ultimately seeking domination of the Galaxy. They have some loose parallels to the House of Harkonnen, Tleilaxu, and American capitalism as corporate barons are a member of them. (Lucas is a Democrat and likes to insert his politics into Star Wars)

The Clones are an army of Insane Spaarti Clones created by the Clone Masters

The main Clone Master is Governor Crispin Hoedaack

For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. The Jedi Knights are Space Arthurian Knights, they are honorable with a sense of Justice. They are fighting in the front lines to protect the Republic from the Dark forces. The Jedi Knights serve the Planets of the Old Republic, for example, Obi-Wan Kenobi serves the House of Organa from Alderaan. A Jedi Master is someone who achieves peace and inner balance within the Force. The Jedi Masters are not taking part in fighting, unlike the Knights. The Leader of the Jedi Knights is Supreme Master Bendu

and his 2nd is command is Jedi Master Clieg Whitsun

.

The Jedi Knights can have children and marry

The Jedi Knights are dressed like this: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/02/20/51/022051144af0c64e820ed7234734a5d1.jpg

During the War, an age of corruption and greed started in the Old Republic. Senators taking bribes, lying, and abandoning their ideals to secure their power became causality within the Republic. The President of the Republic, President Kayos, lost the trust of the public due to the corruption within his administration and his bad management of the Clone Wars. His fall led to the rise of the Imperial Party, led by Xon Palpatine. Within the Imperial Party, there are officials that we will later meet in the OT like Admiral Tarkin, Anus Greejatus, Sim Aloo, Sate Pestage, Ars Dangor, Kren Blista-Vanee, and Pebimarus Xorn.

These figures are “Nixonian Gangsters” corrupt officials and elitists that surround Palpatine and through them, he is doing the dirty work that will facilitate his rise to power.

The rivals of the Imperial Party were the Galactic Party, led by Prince Bail Organa of Alderaan and Mon Mothma of Chandrila.

Within the Jedi Knights, there is a very legendary figure, named Master Yoda. Yoda is like a space prophet, akin to Samuel. Yoda is 900 years old, a legend within the Jedi Knights. He trained Bendu, and his last Apprentice was Obi-Wan Kenobi. There are rumors that Yoda resides on the Planet of Dagobah, and when a Jedi Apprentice, also known as “Padawan”, is going to complete his training, he is sent to Dagobah to construct his own Lightsaber and become a Knight.

Another famous figure is the mysterious ancient Dark Side wizard, a satanic figure named “The Emperor”. The Emperor, like Yoda, is an ancient dark prophet, more than 900 years old, and is rumored to be the old rival of Yoda, but wasn’t seen or heard from for centuries. Maybe he never existed. According to the rumors, the Emperor used to reside in Byss, but many believe that this Planet doesn’t even exist.

Unlike the House of Mandalore who are using Clones, the soldiers of The Republic, aside from the Knights, are human soldiers.

The Republic’s capital isCoruscant

Episode 1 opens in Chandrila, Nellith Arcadia and Prince Bail Organa of Alderaan are going to marry due to their family’s arrangement. Bail is interested in Nellith, but she is not interested in him. They are on friendly terms despite some of the hostility between them. BUT THEN Chandrila is invaded by the House of Mandalore . We are introduced to Maul who easily slaughters the guards (a scene akin to Vader’s hallaway).

Alderaan is based on Switzerland and is a space version of it while Chandrila is based on France.

There is a cut to the Planet of Kessel, where we are introduced to our main protagonist, Anakin (He isn’t named Skywalker at this point). Anakin, nicknamed “Kane”, is the same age as Luke in Episode 4 and is friends with Owen Lars and Beru. They are his only friends. Anakin is an orphan who never knew his parents therefore he has abandonment issues and has a lot of Luke’s traits in Episode 4, he is also similar to James Dean’s character in East of Eden. Anakin is a hero’s journey character, awkward, naive, and good-hearted but rebellious with inner turmoil, sensitive, and searching for a sense of identity and belonging.

Anakin is bullied by the local bully Brotus, he is bad at fighting therefore he is constantly humiliated by the bullies.

Despite this, Anakin is a good pilot and attempts to use his piloting skills to earn money, but the bullies steal his money after beating him up.

Anakin rushes off to fight back which also introduces us to his bit of a hot temper, after he is attacked brutally by the bullies - Anakin is saved by a mysterious figure (Homage to Miyagi saving Daniel in Karate Kid) - who is revealed to be Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan reveals that he was sent to the Outer-Rim to explore the Clone Masters’ illegal dealings - but we are then revealed that Obi-Wan is actually Owen Lars’ brother, who left Owen to become a Jedi. (Much like how he behaves in the OT with Luke, Owen attempts to hold Anakin back). There is a lot of hostility between Owen and Obi-Wan - we are hinted that Owen might be jealous of Obi-Wan’s life. Obi-Wan is an archetypal “cool cowboy”, based on Clint Eastwood.

Obi-Wan senses that Anakin is uniquely strong with The Force and tries to ask Owen about Anakin’s family. Obi-Wan offers Anakin to join him on an adventure in the big galaxy and become a Jedi, Owen is furious at the idea and Anakin is afraid to leave his home planet behind. Anakin is eventually convinced to leave with Obi-Wan, who shares similar ideals to that of Anakin - and Owen accepts his friend’s choice.

Obi-Wan and Anakin quickly connect, Obi-Wan understands Anakin’s struggles and needs to find acceptance and belonging and believes he can train him. It is revealed that ever since the War, the Jedi Knights were in a slow decline and are not as strong as they used to be.

During the war, Obi-Wan served the House of Organa from Alderaan.

It is revealed that Maul and the House of Mandalore plan to invade Alderaan, and the corrupted corporations that are part of the Alliance are running facilities with genetics and biology, including cloning, which is considered a crime and illegal technique. They want to take over Alderaan’s facilities to create an improved Clone Army.

Anakin, who was raised in Kessel since he was born, is shocked when he is introduced to Coruscant and Alderaan. Anakin’s innocence is quite obvious when he cannot hear Obi-Wan talking to him since he is “still recovering from the shock of seeing such a different Galaxy than what he was used to”

The Jedi Knights refuse to train Anakin because they sense a lot of anger within him, but Obi-Wan insists on taking it upon himself to train the boy, being amazed by how strongly The Force is with him despite his lack of skill.

Anakin falls in love with Nellith after seeing her for the first time in Alderaan, both relate to each other searching for a need for belonging. Bail Organa notices Nellith and Anakin’s interest in each other which causes him to resent the boy a bit. Their small rivalry starts off as a Rich Suitor, Poor Suitor trope, like in Titanic. Bail is based on Errol Flynn with a touch of Robert Kennedy.

Maul leads the Clones during the War, a ruthless and brilliant military strategist, and a mighty Dark Jedi, he slaughters Republic Soldiers and develops a rivalry with Obi-Wan and Anakin as he leads the Dark World alliances against The Republic. He is brutal and violent, but also manipulative, charismatic, and charming. He is based on a Jack Palance-type villain, Scaramanga from Bond and a bit of Dracula.

It is revealed that Maul and Crispin Hoedaack are planning to invade Alderaan, kidnapping the royal Organa family and taking over Alderaan’s resources for improved Clonings. Hoedaack wants Alderaan’s resources so he can continue to gain money and power and draw the War further.

The Clone Wars is devastating and we see the menace of the Clones throughout the movie, unleashing madness at the Galaxy.

We’re introduced to Planet Chandrila, Coruscant, and more.

Maul’s long-term plan is to construct the Death Star, a weapon with unprecedented power. Obi-Wan discovers about this goal.

At the background, The Republic is in a political crisis: the incumbent president, Xon Palpatine, is running for reelection. Palpatine took office after the War started, and many of his political Party members were suspected of shady deals. Xon Palpatine is basically a space Richard Nixon.

The Mandalorians invade Alderaan and Chandrila - and a great battle starts like in Episode 4.

Anakin shows his Piloting skills and destroys the Dark Worlds’ Space Fortress.

Anakin and Obi-Wan both attempt to take on Maul, who defeats Obi-Wan after an iconic fight and chops Anakin’s hand, after Anakin recklessly tries to take him on.

Bail agrees to cancel his wedding with Nellith

Palpatine is elected as President for 2nd time.

Obi-Wan nicknames Anakin “Skywalker”

Anakin and Obi-Wan return to Alderaan, and Bail Organa names Anakin “The Hero of Alderaan”. Anakin and Nellith share a small kiss…

Episode 2 opens 10 years later, Anakin and Obi-Wan become war heroes of The Clone Wars. Anakin is an experienced, ruthless, and powerful Jedi Knight. He is the best star-pilot in the Galaxy, a cunning warrior, and he is a good friend to Obi-Wan, going on adventures across the Galaxy.

Palpatine greatly expanded government control during the war after the chaos spread in the Galaxy. Corruption, bribery, and terror have reduced the High Council to all but a devoted few, including Bail Organa and Mon Mothma, while a massive bureaucracy, too large and not very effective, maintains control over the various star systems. Maul and The Clone Masters also became richer and richer.

The Jedi Knights are starting to suspect in the corruption, and are slowly drifting away from the Senate. The Senate secretly instigates race wars and aids the Mandalorians so the war will continue. This slows down the system of justice, which causes the crime rate to rise to the point where the system welcomes a totally controlled and oppressive police state.

The Jedi Knights secretly ally with Bail and Mon Mothma to take down the Imperial Party.

Palpatine gets close to Anakin and puts him in charge of The Republic’s army. Anakin hatches a plan to destroy the Leaders of the Alliances which impresses Palpatine.

Obi-Wan and Anakin split; Obi-Wan is sent to the outer rim alongside Bail Organa to liberate Planets that were enslaved by Maul, while Anakin goes after Maul in an attempt to stop him from constructing The Death Star. Nellith joins Anakin.

Obi-Wan and Organa arrive in the Planet of Ondos - where they meet the tribe of Ashardi. The tribe of Ashardi is a tribe of Clones that managed to escape from Maul and the Clone Masters and live a life of prosperity. This, however, would not last long - as The Troops of Maul locate Ondos and commit genocide there.

Anakin and Nellith return to Anakin’s home planet of Kessel. Anakin discovers that Owen and Beru relocated and that now the Alliances are controlling the Planet, which was originally an outer-rim Planet. After noticing one of the local Commanders abusing an innocent slave, Anakin commits violent mass murder against the Alliances and the Clone Troopers there. He decides to locate Maul no matter what.

We see the horrors of the War affected Anakin; he is willing to be violent and brutal to achieve his goals, which makes his attitude the opposite of that of Obi-Wan and also serves as a microcosm of the conflict between the pacifism and the hawkish ideology. (Akin to Magneto and Xavier)

Obi-Wan, Bail, and their squad of the House of Organa are on a quest to weaken the House of Mandalore factions in the Outer Rim as much as possible including the Planet of Mon Calamari. They liberate Star systems and Planets that were conquered by Maul and ally with these systems. Another Planet that is liberated is Corellia. Obi-Wan and Bail knows that the Senate is corrupted, so they secretly ally themselves with this system to have power against the Senate.

We see how the war changed Anakin’s political views: While Nellith believes in peace, Anakin believes all means are valid to finish the Alliances and “Bring order to the Galaxy”. Anakin’s flaws are highlighted: He seeks for revenge against Maul, which contrasts with Obi-Wan’s ideology: Obi-Wan wants to bring Maul to justice, Anakin wants him dead, supported by Palpatine. Anakin promises to Nellith that he will leave the Jedi Knights for her so they can have a quiet life, but vows to end the threat of Maul at first.

Anakin goes after Maul by himself, vowing to stop him from constructing the Death Star and further spread chaos throughout the Galaxy. He is willing to do so in his own way. Anakin locates his enemy in the 5th moon of Da Soocha, the two have a violent duel which ends with Anakin tapping into the Dark Side and slaughtering Maul. Anakin orders his troops to locate the remaining Dark World leaders and kill them all (An homage to the scene in The Godfather where Michael kills all the leaders of the 5 families).

The Republic fully becomes “The Empire”, promising to enforce back law and order.

The Jedi decided to rebel against the Senate after losing its faith in The Republic. They discover that Palpatine’s entourage was involved in killing senators and rigging elections. They are denounced as traitors. This is the beginning of the Rebellion

Palpatine reveals to Anakin the truth: He is The Ancient Dark Emperor, who lived in the shadows for years, waiting for the chance to strike. Palpatine reveals he used the Clone technology to transfer his essence into Clone bodies, staying alive for years fooling the Jedi into believing he is dead. Anakin tries to attack Palpatine who defeats him with ease. Anakin, determined to end the War no matter what, understands he will need to learn how to use the Dark Side to become powerful enough to bring law and order. Anakin kneels before Palpatine and pledges himself as his Dark Apprentice; Palpatine names him “Darth Vader” and places him in charge of the secret “great Jedi purge”. Anakin gives the order to bomb Clieg Whitsun’s ship and is granted control over the new Imperial army.

Anakin and Obi-Wan have a final meeting that ends in a clash. After a small confrontation, Anakin orders Obi-Wan to leave and never return so he won’t have to hurt him. Anakin warns him to never take sides against the Empire.

Anakin’s political shift is based on Ronald Reagan; Reagan as a young man during the great depression was a democrat who adored FDR and spoke against racism. Then began shifting to the right and became the enforcer of the 80s Capitalism, (Again I’m just using Lucas’ politics since he is a Dem so don’t make it a political discussion)

Palpatine declares that all the traitors will be hunted down.

Obi-Wan and the remaining Jedi Knights are agreeing to go into hiding to organize the rebellion against The Empire. Bail tells Obi-Wan he and Mon Mothma will try to influence the Senate from the inside.

Episode 3 opens 2 years later.

The Empire has spread throughout the Galaxy. Any attempt to oppose the emerging dictatorship is oppressed. The Senate is rigged and swayed by The Emperor and his entourage. They do what they want without supervision and restriction. The Rebellion is struggling. Anakin became the official leader of the New Imperial clone army and secretly led the Great Jedi Purge, hunting the Knights of the Old Republic one by one.

Episode 3 opens on the outer rim. Anakin, going by the name of Darth Vader in Imperial missions, commits a massacre against a group that rebelled against The Empire’s control of the Planet. This shows us how violent Anakin became under Palpatine’s guidance using the Dark Side of the Force. He does not hesitate to commit war crimes, he is brutal and ruthless. Anakin was sent by the Emperor to find the secret Kaiburr crystal, a crystal that will unlock the map to the secret planet of the Dark Side where Anakin will be guided by The Emperor’s spirit further.

Nellith notices Anakin become distant. She tries to uncover what he is up to on his missions from The Empire, Anakin demands her never to get involved in his missions.

Palpatine, Darth Vader, and Grand Moff Tarkin know that a Rebellion is starting and suspect Bail and Mon Mothma. Anakin knows that there are Jedi Knights across the Galaxy and leads a brutal campaign against them.

Obi-Wan leads a group of rouge former Republican soldiers alongside the Jedi Knights that went into hiding on the 5th moon of Utapau. Obi-Wan attempts to fight the Imperial factions that are conquering core star systems, but with no success. He goes for Bendu for advice and shows remorse for his failure to train Anakin.

Bail discovers that Grand Moff Tarkin took over Maul’s plans for the Death Star and is now building the feared weapon. Obi-Wan vows to stop it no matter what.

Nellith is worried about Anakin. Despite his situation, Anakin attempts to convince Nellith that he is building a better future for both of them. Anakin, meanwhile, gets drawn into the Dark Side more and more. He is trained by The emperor and gets stronger and stronger. Anakin throughout the film brutally destroys everyone who stands in his way; Jedi Knights that we met in the previous 2 films and rouge soldiers. He vows to locate the Rebellion and uncover it.

Bail tries to convince Nellith to help him and join the Rebels. Nellith is hesitant due to her loyalty to Anakin and her political view that another war is stopping peace and will just cause more damage. Bail attempts to confront Senators that were bribed by The Emperor and Tarkin, and is threatened by him. Nellith is starting to get convinced, noticing that The Empire is tyrannical and corrupted, but is torn between the right thing to do and Anakin.

The Emperor has a confrontation with Bendu and reveals that he is The Emperor of the Dark Side who waited for centuries to destroy the Jedi Knights and managed to stay alive by transferring his essence into Cloned bodies. Bendu understands his failure, and tries to battle The Emperor, but ends up getting killed. The Emperor is too powerful.

Nellith reaches out to Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan reveals to her that he is a part of the Rebellion and that Anakin is the one who is hunting down the Jedi Knights. Nellith struggles to believe but knows Obi-Wan is right. She leaves with him and joins the Rebel Alliance.

Darth Vader hunts down Obi-Wan. He discovers that Nellith left him and is losing control, vowing to find her. The Emperor uses it to push him further towards the Dark Side. Vader is now determined to find his former mentor and find his wife.

Vader and Obi-Wan are reunited after 2 years after Vader manages to locate Kenobi. While they have a lot of hostility, we are hinted that Anakin still has a soft spot for Ben. Obi-Wan, meanwhile, attempts to convince Anakin that there is still good in him and that he can help him fix all of that. Anakin is conflicted but rejects him. Vader explains that he turned to the Dark Side so he could learn the Dark Side and secrets of the Emperor from within so he would be able to surpass him and overthrow him. Obi-Wan warns him that he is playing with fire. Vader refuses to listen. They start dueling which ends with Vader using the Dark Side and defeating Obi-Wan. He gives Obi-Wan another chance to escape before he will destroy him. Obi-Wan manages to escape.

The Emperor sends Anakin to Korriban - The Home Planet of the Dark Side where he will be guided by Palpatine’s essence and his advisors to unlock his potential in the Dark Side. Anakin arrives in Korriban by using the map of the Crystal.

Unbeknownst to him, Obi-Wan managed to put a chip on Vader and track him. Vader, meanwhile, enters the temple of the Dark Side and is guided by Palpatine’s spirit and his advisors. Vader is crowned as “Dark Lord of the Sith”. Obi-Wan enters the temple and confronts Anakin. After discovering that Anakin is now the one who is constructing the Death Star, Obi-Wan understands that “Darth Vader killed Anakin”. They start a deadly, climatic, and tragic duel where we see how much Anakin’s power has advanced in the Dark Side. Their duel ends with Anakin losing control which leads to his defeat, and Obi-Wan chopping his legs and causing him to fall into a volcano pit.

The Emperor’s fleet manages to overthrow the Rebellion’s forces. The Emperor and Grand Moff Tarkin execute the traitors of the Rebellion and continue to enforce their iron fist grip.

The Imperial troops manage to locate Anakin and bring him before The Emperor. Anakin is rebuilt into a dark armor and becomes the Darth Vader we all know and love from the OT, more machine than man, twisted and evil.

Nellith discovers that she is pregnant with Anakin’s children. Obi-Wan and Bail agree that she will be sent to Dagobah where she will be protected from The Emperor, and then the children will be split; One child will be raised by Obi-Wan’s brother in Tatooine while the other will be raised by Bail in Alderaan. Obi-Wan decides to go hiding in Tatooine and believes that in time, Anakin’s son will lead the Rebellion and save the Galaxy from Anain himself. The movie ends with a hopeful tone with Obi-Wan and Nellith watching the Alderaanian sunset.
