I am a complete novice when it comes to this sort of thing , but VLC media player has a deinterlace function that can be recorded from the player ,I used it while watching an early dvd release of BladeRunner ,which was sourced from a laserdisc release and could see the interlacing artifacts on it ,so I applied deinterlace in VLC and it worked well , I could no longer see the artifacts in the video . VLC is a free open source media player and a powerful tool that can play just about any video file you throw at it .Here are the steps to deinerlace and record on itā¦
Open the video in VLC.
Apply the deinterlacing filter. You can find this in the video settings.
Go to āViewā -> āOptionsā (or āToolsā -> āOptionsā depending on your VLC version).
In the āOutputā section, choose your desired recording format and location.
Click the āRecordā button (usually a red square).
The video will be recorded with the deinterlacing filter applied.
I hope this helps in some way .
I wish more people would respond to the how to requests in this forum .Over the past year or so Iāve seen 0 replies to a lot of questions asked here. There used to be a lot more engagement ,and thatās a shame , I find many of the topics interesting to read . Anyway , good luck with your project !
