Now that you mention it, the fact that no link is made between Holdo’s suicide charge and Finn’s attempted suicide charge is rather odd and a missed opportunity. I wonder if it’d be possible to make Poe the one to save Finn or if that would even help.
In theory this would go a long way to fixing issues with the plan and in fact synergizes well with TRoS since we see Poe step up as leader of the Resistance, something he couldn’t have done if he’d died in a suicide charge.
However, I think you’re gonna need more than just that one line to sell the idea that Poe genuinely was going to do it. You need Poe to see Holdo sacrifice herself and say “It should’ve been me.” or something along those lines. Coming solely from Leia, it’s a bit harder to buy.
On a different note, I remember people doing versions of the fleet arriving at Exegol with cockpit interiors of Din Djarin, Boba Fett, and other random Disney+ characters. Recently I came across footage of the Neimoidians from The Acolyte and I realized it’d be perfect for that. Even the lighting looks very TRoS with how teal it is, blending in well with Exegol. Of course, this would be an awkward random addition if it were the only one, but I’m sure there are other clips of ship interiors that could be spliced in.
Which is why in my version, all of the Sith, not just Maul and Vader, look like monsters.
As far as I can tell this is basically how it is in all three official continuities, with occasional exceptions like Dooku. Honestly, if you want him to look monstrous, giving him yellow Sith eyes would be a good start.

I want Fortress Vader as well for the same reason. I’m looking to make a 100% self-contained nine film Saga so I’m trying to find a spot for this perfectly fitting setting in the OT using existing footage. Best I can come up with is trying to fit the scene from Obi-Wan Kenobi into ANH.

Might I suggest making Naboo go through seasons? In TPM it’s summer, representing the Republic standing strong. In AotC it’s fall, representing the slowly crumbling Republic. In RotS, it’s a snowy winter, representing the dissolution of the Republic. This also evenly spreads the workload, since TPM, which features Naboo prominently, wouldn’t need to be altered at all, while the hardest edit to pull off (adding snow) would be relegated to a movie that only features one brief scene on Naboo.

For those interested in reintegrating the Tosche Station scene, this fan film opens on an establishing shot that could work well for it, making the place seem a little less barren. Granted, it’s a bit too cluttered, and I would remove most of the ships in the sky, but besides that you just need to cut to Luke before whatshername enters the frame. I think it would blend really well with the 1997 Mos Eisley.
I tried to get Vicrul on Mustafar as well but there was no way for me to pass off the leafy green forest as the same woods Kylo’s in no matter how much I color graded.

Well you’re going around every thread on the forum proposing outlandish ideas that regardless of merits are not feasible from a technical standpoint. I appreciate your creativity but edit threads aren’t the place for things that can’t realistically be done with existing footage.

This. It’s not great per say but it’s easily the best so far. I still don’t fully buy that it’s the same location and the constant cutting is a bit erratic but really the biggest issue is that it’s still not clear to me without prior knowledge that it’s one of the knights talking. Still, I think we’re getting somewhere.
The one you posted after the one T-202 is talking about is worse. The second shot of the knights feels random and redundant. I think the one T-202 complemented is solid, but I would cut to the creature’s head when the knight says "creature, skipping the shot of the officers at the table. If you need to, put it in after the severed head.

Easy solution: make the knight female. An accent would work too.
I decided to go snooping about fan film footage for the Knights of Ren, and I actually found this fan film with usable footage of everyone’s favorite Vicrul. I figure it’d be neat to make Vicrul a woman, so let’s roll with that idea. This footage could be used in two places.
The first one would be a single shot of her talking to Kylo in place of the stormtroopers on Takodana (“We need more troops.”) since it would accomplish the same thing while establishes the Knights of Ren early on as Kylo’s underlings.
The second one would be to have her fighting alongside Kylo on Mustafar. When the fighting is done, Kylo turns his head in response to her addressing him, followed by a shot of her explaining they found the wayfinder. Then cut to this shot from an entirely different fan film to give the infamously rushed scene more room to breath as Kylo finally reaches the wayfinder.
Is this gonna suddenly turn Vicrul into some fascinating important character? No, but it subtly gives the Knights of Ren a bit more of a presence through her. This way they feel less like random goons that show in the last movie to get killed (assuming you put Mustafar in TLJ).
Okay but how would you actually do that? Are you volunteering, to model, texture, animate, and rotoscope it?

I for one would’ve appreciated Rian Johnson’s quote about Ben and Rey touching being taken a lot more literally, but they obviously couldn’t in family-friendly Star Wars.
- I don’t have much of an opinion on eras beyond, because I think the storytelling potential of focusing in a close time period is so much greater than spreading thin to multiple disconnected eras. I did love both Kotor games back in the day, but a problem I have is, it’s supposed to be set 4000 years before, yet it doesn’t feel like it. If you told me it was 1000 years, I might believe that easier. But the lack of change over so long I think is unreasonable, and honestly dissapointing. In terms of design, I think High Republic actually did great in terms of style and palettes. I buy the idea that its the 100 years before the PT. But Old Republic being 4000 years? No way, not even a chance. In my personal head canon, it is only 1000 years before. And I think that is the danger in jumping so freely in the timeline outside of what is developed already.
This 100%. The technological and political stagnancy over literal millennia is laughable and immersion breaking. It’s just a roundabout way of making an alternate universe at that point. Remember the hyperdrive booster rings in the Prequels? How 'bout every starfighter needs them. And if you go further back only capital ships have hyperdrives. Little touches like that to make it feel older.

TPM in general looks a lot less digital. It’s the only one that came out in the 90s and was shot on film and it shows. Pop culture digitized seemingly overnight when the new millennium came and the difference is night and day. The Prequels being one set of films manage to mask it better than most, but a subtle difference is still there.
