Are you able to squeeze in "The Force" so its the same width as "Awakens" or does it make it too close together? Or vice versa with "Awakens" the same width as "The Force"?

I like the first two the most.  I agree that that the first one may be too long as "Star Wars" does get a bit lost.

True, but they're still two different mediums and should be kept separate.  It's like when something doesn't make sense in a Harry Potter film, people say to read the book and it'll make sense.  I shouldn't have to read the book to understand the film.

I'm talking about the films, not the novels.  Plus, the OT wasn't about the defeating the Sith...

The Sith didn't exist in the OT.

If the rumors are true about the teaser music being recorded in a few weeks, then I think it's likely we'll get a teaser before the year is out.

Maybe it went to sleep sometime after ROTJ?  At least it isn't, "The Ancient Fear" or "The Sith Rises" or "The Midichlorian Explored"

Wasn't ESB even referred to as "Star Wars 2" or "Episode 2"? Was that even official or something the media came up before the title was announced?

It almost seems like "The Force Awakens" is taking a slight jab at the PT. ;-)

I can only imagine how confused moviegoers were when they first saw Episode V in the crawl!  Or maybe they didn't even really notice...?

They didn't because the episode numbers weren't part of the titles.  Even in the opening crawls the episode number and title are separate.

I have always called the films by its title.  In fact, I even call the original film Stars Wars instead of A New Hope.  I think a title like "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" is far too much.  The subtitle is sufficient enough.

I guess they really want to capture the spirit of the OT including how the films were marketed. :-)

Now I'm really curious to know what has happened in the last 30 years!  Seems like they will have a lot of ground to cover...

@RebelForceRadio confirmed with Lucasfilm that "Episode VII" will not be an official part of the title.

The proper title of the film will not contain "Episode VII" but I believe it will still be referred to as that in a potential crawler, etc. The film will be marketed officially as "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" - JMac

It's been confirmed at starwars.com as well.  I wonder if the image is any indication that the film will be referred to as "The Force Awakens" instead Episode VII.  Also, is the title suggesting that the Force has been "dead" for quite some time?

Anthony Daniels has said he asked for, and got a Threepio suit that's easier for him to wear, and outwardly is identical to the original costumes. We've already seen a pic of Chewie that avoided the mistakes made with the Episode III suit, so why worry? :)

 What was wrong with the Ep. III suit? I don't remember any issues, but it's been so long since I've seen it...

I feel a deja vu moment coming on! We talked about this somewhere earlier this year and someone posted a few comparison photos... I can't seem to find the discussion...

Rumor has it that it'll be attached to "Into the Woods," which opens on Christmas Day.  Also, rumor has it that Williams has already seen and written music for the teaser, which set to be recorded on November 17.  If true, I hope the new music will get a digital release around the same time.

Yes, that was her idea to kill Obi-Wan in order to raise the stakes.

She influenced Lucas in many positive ways. Here's a quote from Hamill:

You can see a huge difference in the films that he [Lucas] does now and the films that he did when he was married. I know for a fact that Marcia Lucas was responsible for convincing him to keep that little 'kiss for luck' before Carrie [Fisher] and I swing across the chasm in the first film: 'Oh, I don't like it, people laugh in the previews,' and she said, 'George, they're laughing because it's so sweet and unexpected'-- and her influence was such that if she wanted to keep it, it was in. Marcia was definitely one of many saving graces of Star Wars.  I wonder what kind film we would have gotten if she wasn't around to influence George.

It looks like the picture was squeezed in a bit at the sides because the "new" R2 doesn't look as fat.  Or the SW screenshot has been stretched slightly.  I would be surprised if they didn't look at the pictures and possibly the original props when recreating R2.  No doubt they had the original blueprints in their possession.

I'm sure if Lucas was ever asked about it he would come up with some explanation about Leia using the force etc.  But to be honest, I think his "its all one movie" thing is a sham.  Ep. 1-3 are the Star Wars films he always wanted to make but couldn't until he had the technology.  For him they stand on their own and so if they don't have continuity with 4-6 he's fine with it since he doesn't care for those movies anyway.  That's just a guess though.

Leia's use of the word "young" points to her being a toddler and possibly older - not her as a newborn baby.  I guess she could have been talking about her adoptive mother, but if so, then the whole scene is pointless because Leia's adoptive mother has nothing to do with Luke.  Also, if Leia was able to use the force to see her mother, then why wasn't Luke able to  as well?  He said he has no memory of his mother.  I think having Padme die turning childbirth was a big mistake and could have easily been avoided.  She didn't need to die in ROTS since Leia mentions that she died when she was very young - we don't necessarily need to know how she died.
