I read that they didn’t do screener DVDs for TFA to avoid piracy.

Well, as I don’t have that and have absolutely no memory about that specific bleep or bloops, I’m of no use here.
Food for thought, is it possible some cam versions have different audio mixes? Obviously we all know that not every single cam is the same and they’re usually all recorded by different people in different countries, so it may be a possibility that different theatres had differing audio mixes.
I think it’s a spanish cam with audio added in from who knows where.
Hi there, just thought I’d post something I noticed.
At around the 30-31 minute (forget the specific time) mark of the TFA Blu-Ray, there is a close-up of BB-8 fleeing with Rey and Finn, headed for the Falcon.
Now in the theatrical version BB-8 makes a little “bleep bloop” noise, this is completely absent from the Blu Ray version.
This is the only change I’ve picked up so far but I highly doubt it’s the only one. That means that once again, no matter how minor, we have another Star Wars film edited from its original format for the home video release.
The company and staff may change, but the tradition never will :’)
You’re probably going to be told to ‘keep it in the pants’ until a week from tomorrow. But things like this are obviously going to be of interest around here at that point. Still, there’s only one way to get the film now, and it’s not a good way. Even if your local store gets it in early, they won’t allow it to be rung up on the system (people have tried).
On that note, are we going to change how we allow for discussion of the cam bootlegs at that point in time, provided that everyone is buying the blu-ray to discuss that end of things? The Centropy cam recording of AoTC is an invaluable source of information, as seen in other threads, as there is no other source of what the film looked like on screens. Or are we waiting a bit longer?
The line “Is she all right” is a Hayden Christenen line done by James earl Jones and it sounds just so out of place and awful.
Source? Not doubting you, just curious to read something real about JEJ’s involvement. For a long time it was some bizarre thing where no one would admit it, despite everyone knowing, right?
Well, I did send you an invite earlier. So there’s that option.
Nope.
Ignore most of my previous criticisms. This fan edit was brilliant. One of my only complaints is that you changed “ten thousand” star systems seceding from the Galactic Republic to “a thousand,” an unnecessary change which lessened the stakes involved in the war. I also cannot understand why you removed the title Darth Tyrannus. All Sith Lords have a personal name and a Sith name, so it would be illogical for Count Dooku to not have a Sith name as well.
I’m glad you’ve come around!
Some editors remove all of the ‘Darths’ from the PT because in their edits, what you say (All Sith Lords have a personal name and a Sith name) is not true. Hal keeps Darth Plagueis though, I think, so presumably the change in AoTC is simply due to Tyrannus sounding stupid. Either way, it doesn’t affect the canon by not having it mentioned during Dooku’s incredibly limited screen time in the film, if you want to consider that his Sith name.
Jdownloader extracts just fine for me, even in cases where I need to tell it a password to use.
If you’re having trouble extracting rars, are you clicking the first rar file? (sometimes the extension is .rar, other times ‘part 1’ or .001). Clicking on random ones in the middle of the sequence would cause problems back in the day, but I figured most software packages deal with it fine now.
Nowhere currently.
Yeah. I think Dre lost compatibility with some of his plugins after a system upgrade. But he has made the scripts available. I think he and others are very likely apprehensive about the idea of spending a month or two in processing time with a decent computer that could be used for other things. And now we’ve seen such great 35mm options start to open up. The GOUT is being phased out of despecialized.
It turned out to be very useful for projects like Hal9000’s fan edits, though. The DVD-sourced scenes in his Episode III look extremely good.
You should be able to mount the cue file with standard drive emulators. Then just browse the drive and copy the mpegs over.
Well, it’s generally poor form to start a thread about this and make your first post on your first day of registration one that begs for a myspleen invite.
I generally do not give myspleen invites to new users, since they are almost 100% of the time hit-and-runners. But would give you one because of your familiarity with the 35mm differences and, more importantly, your username.
However, myspleen only has the vcd, not the SVCD. If you manage to find that, though, it would be nice to have on the spleen. Perhaps someone with a usenet account that has absurdly good retention can find it?
Where could I find Project Blu’s 720p upscale?, it does not pop up on myspleen and its fourms.
Try “Team Blu”
Hey, if you like edge enhancement, that’s good for you. I’m just stating plenty of people hate it just as much as you like it.
It’s a different story when you’re combining material from different sources, though. I’ve needed to apply a good amount of sharpening to the SSE LPP for it to mesh with the BD. But on its own the LPP is fine to watch as is
dafuq? srsly?
What I mean by that is that he requested it in the forum under his own name that is neither the uploader or, if you believed him, a member of the team that produced it.
Meaning, on paper, he asked for it to be deleted as a random person on the internet and they complied. So you should not expect your own upload to fare any better. But who knows.
Yeah that’s what I got from that I just couldn’t believe it and said response was the only thing I could say about it. There’s no way in hell they’re going to have better versions of ALL the files. They got played. Hopefully they’ll re-upload those torrents.
Whether or not they update them, those were good releases and TN1 should have been proud of them. I’m sure most members were.

They took out some wrinkles, did a hair repair, changed the blood - added a good thirty or forty years to its life. The doc looks great.
Yes. The 2.x series which respecialized came from is limited to 720p.
It’s not really clear if there are plans. Since the vast majority of the 97SE films are available in HD quality via 2004/2011 versions, and the very few pre-2004 elements are now available as 35mm, it would make sense to wait until he begins work on the 1080p 3.0 series.
ANH is the only one that’s out and we support buying the main sources of fan restorations which, in the case of despecialized, is the 2011 blu-ray. If that’s not your personal version of what’s morally right (you do own the VHS at least), the least you could do is not advertise DeSP being on your shelf but not the 2011 blu-ray. Harmy would appreciate that as well and why not be respectful to him and the community, if not Lucasfilm and Disney.
Well I’m not posting the majority of things I’m changing because the edit I’m making is for myself. If you’re making an edit for people to see I think it’d be best to listen to the people. No?
Also, you really should keep Rey’s theme though. There is no way in fuck you can tell me that it’s not a great piece of music and doesn’t fit her character.
Well, I expected more enthusiasm, but I guess that’s my fault. But making an edit for people to see doesn’t automatically mean you take every piece of consideration over your gut instinct. Suggestions and feedback are fantastic, and great for shaping the edit as a whole, but if the edit is something you want to see, you just do it. I’m not going to leave the original music in. It’s going. Simple.
Eh, I say do what you want to do. There are edits out there that appeal to the masses, because some films are so flawed that it’s hard to disagree with the changes.
But there will be folks who are outliers, like you wanting to take out good parts of TFA or Scott wanting to add crappy parts back to the PT. Even if you’re the only person who ever watches it, I say go for it. You’ll learn about editing techniques and maybe have a change of heart for some decisions if you see they don’t work.
I disagree with almost every idea of yours, but you’re 100x better off than someone who instead spends his time begging others to make changes for him. Especially when they’re changes that interest no one else.
He also estimated 15-20 minutes of deleted scenes for the BD. So, this is a crap release to make sure we re-buy later.
None of these will be the full scenes at those lengths, so the time code is of no actual concern.
Not on spleen. They nuked it as a favor to him.
True. Imgburn similarly detects BDMV.
Spaces and lowercase are fine. Need to make sure the correct UDF version is used. I think.
