Harmy's THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Despecialized Edition HD - V2.0 - MKV & AVCHD (Released)

Very useful info, thanks a lot! I've been able to plug my portable hard drive into my BD player and watch them this way, but I'll give making my own Blu-Ray discs a try. :)

If the issue is that your Blu-ray player doesn't support MKV, you can always use that same TsmuxerGUI program to convert them to M2TS and do it via hard-drive. Nice to have the discs in cases and with labels, though.

Thanks. I'm mostly just curious for what can be done with Harmy's, which seems to be lacking color depth probably due to the scan and subsequent color conversions (and matching up the multiple sources going into it). Included the blu-ray frame for good measure. That GOUT shot sure is a disaster.

Since the sale, has anyone affiliated with LFL mentioned the OOT at all in any capacity?

Furthermore, has Kathleen Kennedy actually been asked on record in any interview? It would also be nice to hear JJ chime in with some support. I can only assume that he has asked some folks about it. How could he not, especially with Mr. Pegg as a buddy.

Star Wars: Renascent *** NOW AVAILABLE!!! ***

I believe it's like 10gb transfer per 30 or 60 minutes. You see the counter on your menu and it resets rapidly, if I recall. I transferred 40 gigs to another OT member recently, with a free account, and it did not take four months.

Still, rar up your upload into <10gb chunks in case it cuts off and there are problems resuming.

Hey, I've got a challenge/request for you. Would you be able to match Harmy's shot of the speeder in Mos Eisley to the GOUT (though, I if I recall, there is more detail from the laserdiscs in this shot, due to GOUT smearing)? Specifically, the famous vaseline smeared shot after "move along" and before "I don't understand how we got by those troops".

Crispin Glover on how he'd preferred Back to the Future to have ended
Time

Crispin's viewpoint seems reasonable to me, and less extreme than it has been presented in the past. It's a worthwhile point and it doesn't ruin the movie to him, he seems like he still has respect for it despite his one objection. I do think having it be more about the love and family, without being so tied in with materialism (or using materialism as proxy) would be a bit stronger and more in line with the rest of the film. It's not a make or break kind of thing, in a movie series that is loaded to the teeth with product placement.

Plus, in 2+3 we see that Marty's downfall was his temper and recklessness. Although this gets him fired, the readout for his success wasn't necessarily wealth, but how disjointed his family was.

We don't (and probably won't) know how much of an ass Crispin was about this during filming. If he was trying to leverage a different ending to fit in what he thought was a better ending, he might have had valid points but it's obviously out of line for an actor to pull that. Especially late in the filming process. And we don't know if Gale's retaliation was as real or vile as Crispin leads us to believe.

I find of Hulu's decisions odd, like including Snake Dance but not Kinda, or including every serial in the Key to Time arc except for The Armageddon Factor, you know, HOW THE ARC ENDS! Similarly, skipping The War Games, which ends Two's era, or Terror of the Zygons, which shows the departure of Harry Sullivan as a regular companion...I could go on and on about how some of the serials skipped in the Hulu line-up are important ones, but I digress...

To be fair, Armageddon Factor was an abysmal end to a pretty great season. Maybe they're protecting their viewers :P

Hah, I was pretty unclear there. They're missing *based on* the list posted above. i.e. they're on the list above and missing from Hulu.

Also, Web of Fear is only missing one episode of six since the Nigerian find.

I agree that the War Machines pacing is much faster, and rather akin to the Pertwee era rather than Hartnell. That and Invasion really paved the way for UNIT Earth based stories. Still, after rewatching War Machines, I thought it was a rather weak serial. Tenth Planet is great, despite Hartnell's illness-related absence.

Pacing aside, I think the first episode, Time Meddler, and Aztecs are my favorite Hartnells at the moment.

For now, though, the easiest way to hear them is to obtain the newest releases from Harmy or dark_jedi and watch/listen to the films that way.

Thanks for all the work that went into these. It's great that countless people have enjoyed your tracks via Harmy's release.

I wasn't sure whether my question would be better suited for here (or the mono thread) or Harmy's thread. It will probably depend on the answer and where my problem actually is.

I'm trying to mux the tracks from Harmy's 2.5 into another project. I retrieve the DTS files via demuxing with tsmuxer. They can happily be re-muxed using that program. But if I try to use them in anything else (Encore CS6, VLC, etc), they all seem to play at the wrong rate. They clock in at ~3 hours, rather than 2:01. The AC3 tracks from Harmy's release are fine, but the 70mm and 35mm DTS have this issue.

Is there a way that I can fix the header to resolve this? Would obtaining the original files from a helpful person in this thread do the trick (as in something bad happened when the m2ts was muxed)? Do I need to extract wavs from these files and rebuild/re-encode the DTS? As you might have guessed, I have no experience with audio files.

edit: Actually, I assume that the problem must be how it was muxed, or my general understanding of how to use a DTS file, as tracks from both Belbecus and hairy_hen are behaving this way for me.

Finally, unrelatedly, does anyone still have the DTS for catbus's fix of RoTJ? I see the ac3 is on myspleen.

Thanks.

I've encountered this issue, too, and another member here named STENDEC offered this workaround: "export your project as a disk folder in Encore using temporary audio tracks in place of the DTS files (I used WAVs). Then you bring that folder into multiAVCHD and strip out the temporary audio tracks in the playlist. Finally, put the DTS files into the playlist in the same order as the temp tracks and then export. The resulting folder will play exactly the same as the Encore original, except now you have fully functioning DTS audio!"

I've not yet had a chance to try this out, but have no reason to doubt it will work. Good luck! :)

Thanks. I tried something very similar, including an ac3, but using tsmuxer to just edit the m2ts instead. Makes sense that the playlist would still be screwed up, but I figured I would run it through BD-RB afterwards which can often patch things up. BD-RB told me that the DTS files were indeed not BR legal and refused to process anything.

I'll try it this way! And I'll try to find that older discussion, didn't come up in my attempted search. Was there any conclusion as to the source of the error? Does the problem exist with the original files once linked in this thread?

Currently I'm watching Torchwood as well as the first episodes of classic Doctor Who.

People who don't enjoy classic british TV will probably find the first doctor hard to get through (though that first episode is enjoyable to most fans).

I really do like what exists (and the audio of) the second Doctor. Particularly season 5 and a couple of the season 6 arcs. The show really peaks at seasons 12-14, though. edit: and, sadly, some of the very best are missing from that Hulu list.

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

It was nice to get some actual confirmation that the film wasn't affected by his injury. Of course, they've claimed that it wouldn't be from the start. But Abrams is being honest at this point, discussing the fact that he was thinking he would have to re-write it into a part where Solo mostly sits down (yikes). Also interesting to hear the bit about how the downtime was actually beneficial for the film in terms of allowing re-writes and re-shoots. Perhaps it will have saved them from a poor decision or two.

The 'names' article yesterday was extremely meh, though. Almost as captivating as the usual Lego sighting 'articles' we generally get these days.

EW says they're going to have more articles tomorrow. Apparently about Han Solo, this time.

It's up now. Really enjoyed this one.

Later today, an article about the Han Solo origin flick. I'm slightly less wary about it, knowing that it's been in the writing stage for even longer than VII rather than some rush job.
