That is one of the stranger ideas I've seen on here.
That is one of the stranger ideas I've seen on here.
I feel like you cut away a little too soon for viewers to get the idea of what's going on there.
Also, although I love the use of ANH music, I worry about overuse? But it's a good idea in terms of linking, for sure.

I think this is a good indicator of how much people prefer the original version of Star Wars over any sort of fan edit or Special Edition:
Many people who would be interested in any of those already had Ady's work before they got myspleen accounts, whereas Harmy's DE2.1 was first released on there.
Now that we're back on the very same topic that has been discussed over and over...
IN SUMMARY: The amount of hyperbole that goes on here about ROTJ and the PT is unnecessary and not helpful. If you have seriously made the kinds of statements Darth Ender pointed out, you should rethink things.

Please see the page for Star Wars (the film, okay? that's the title) for a template of at least how I thought we should start.
I am glad they resolve Kirk's death with life before the film ends. Yes, Spock's death was a great thing, and his return was good too (except for "Jim...your name is Jim!" :D :D :D :D ), but Kirk probably shouldn't have all that. It would be too much like the old movies - and that's saying something for this film.
Well, I agree.

As for the Death Star cue, I'm not wild about it either. What I would really want, is to get a clever musician to get me that exact cue in a major key.
Oh now that would be fantastic. And I'm pretty sure it's doable. Have you seen the videos where people autotune various songs to be in major keys? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6KmiIq2-m8 for example (original being http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwtdhWltSIg). Yes that edit is a little harsher than I would've liked. But I've also cut every reference to the foolish Amidala/Padme double subplot from the whole film. So seeing the Keira Knightley double in full Queen makeup would be confusing at that stage.
This means the Queen seems less aloof and Padme seems stronger because you no longer see them as two seperate characters. Plus cutting the reveal makes Obi-Wan, Gui-Gon, Anakin and well just about everybody seem less like idiots.
Any other questions I'd be glad to answer.
Yes....How does that work? How does the Queen come with QGJ on Tattooine? Why does the Queen stop dressing as the Queen for awhile? What about when they go to visit Boss Nass at the big stone head?
And what happens at the start of AOTC?
I actually think you cut a little too much. The removal of the decoy queen at the throne room makes their turning the tables too quick, too hard to tell what's going on, and a little too easy (even for this movie)

The second video isn't working btw.
There's a space at the end of the url. Delete that and it works.
Aaaand as expected, those were fantastic. I'm not entirely sure about the Death Star theme at the end of the 2nd one, but it does work.

Pike dies (probably was expected).
Yeah, knew that
But more importantly.............Kirk dies. The climax of the film essentially flips his and Spock's places from TWOK. Kirk dies from radiation. Earlier in the film we learn that Khan's blood can heal. If you saw the IMAX prologue that's how Khan heals that guy's daughter (then recruits him to do something). Bones discovers Khan's blood heals by injecting it into a dead Tribble and seeing it come back alive. So at the end of the film Spock is chasing down Khan in order to get his blood and save Kirk. They succeed.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that part. Cool cool cool.
Although....how can you kill Khan, then?
All I've seen (having also missed some of that, I think), is that Harrison is Khan, and Admiral Marcus is holding the rest of Khan's men (still in cryo) hostage while Khan does his bidding: Stirring up tension (and thus war) between the Federation & the Klingon Empire.
Out of respect for folks like 005 that don't want to know THE SURPRISE, let's talk about things here, about how much the movie is ruined, etc.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is PSB?
Puggo Strikes Back, a scan of a 16mm print of ESB.

I can't decide if learning what I've learned about the surprise was good to learn.
The 2nd clip is fantastic, except for the overlay of the stars. It goes on for too long and has too much motion & continuity for a star-sweeping montage-style overlay.
It's been too long since I've seen in the film to really comment on the first one, but it seemed to work pretty well. Something felt slightly off about the cuts between scenes, like it was too sudden or not sudden enough, but I really am not sure what. It worked.
The entire book is about one character.
I still don't really understand why they thought that would make sense.
But hey, as far as SE changes go, the rope is not a truly horrible one.

JEDIT - Okay, I may be wrong about the lightsaber. But it's clearly Luke, right?
It's clearly Kenobi between Eps 3 & 4.

Well we were in our mid twenties back in 99 so Disney wasn't something we were necessarily interested in, frankly. TPM was a huge lump of disappointment for us.

^That's disingenuous - Disney was producing quality material back then.
I was not.
