Was I supposed to be getting a distracting amount of flickery movement in the backgrounds?

If this new trilogy has any chance of recapturing that spirit I hope politics stays out of it. It should be a small story. It will be difficult to have cut-out baddies without redemption (I know Vader had redemption but he was the only one). In a modern film the Emperor would go into therapy...
Yes, most films today end with the villain in therapy. They hardly ever kill of villains in the cinema anymore.

I have a lot of material to share, but first you have to talk and befriend
This, I think, is where there's a difference in culture. Why is sharing contingent on friendship?

Do you have a source for that?
I really hope he says The Latino Review

Not only are the JP 35mm stills gorgeous in terms of colour and definition, they have a much better framing than the 2D and the 3D Bluray.
The 35mm stills even in the matted 1.85:1 widescreen shots, are both wider and taller than the 2D and the 3D BD. It seems as if they cropped the original widescreen version to 16:10, then put black bars on top and bottom of that 16:10 frame to create an even more cropped 1.85:1 version. Its like double-cropping!
For the 3D I can still understand that they had to shift the images left and right (still it doesn't justify that much cropping as Titanic 3D-the scope version that played in theatres, wasn't cropped much from the framing of the DVD), but why was the 2D cropped?
I just hope one day to get my hands on a 35mm copy of JP so I can preserve the uncropped version, as it seems, Spielberg or Universal won't invest on a remaster anymore after their 3D version was a success. So each successive home video version may feature the cropped framing.
Please do not forget that, in film projection, some cropping is inherent to the projection process, assumed to be taking place by the filmmaker, and thus compensated for when filming. When transferring to home/digital media, then, some cropping is appropriate, in order to reproduce the image actually seen in theaters.

It's pretty clear from the way that Vader looks at the Emperor, looks at Luke, looks at the Emperor, looks at Luke, and then yells "NOOOOOO" that he's in it to save Luke.
I'm 99% sure you're making a joke here.
Don't worry, Frink, we are the 99%.

These will be the new standard
That remains to be seen. I suspect, unless a very serious argument can be made that syncing to -1 is more theatrically accurate than syncing to GOUT, that a GOUT-synced version of your print will happen pretty quickly.

I think his primary goal was Luke. Everything else seems to be secondary and subordinate to that. If his primary goal was to destroy Alliance he wouldn't order fleet to hold while its star-fighter complement was wasted on rebels.
He orders the fleet to hold so they don't get destroyed by the blasts coming from that Death Star! Meanwhile, the fighters are there to make it look like the Imperials are actually attacking with their fleet. They're just keeping the Rebels busy until the DS opens fire.

I may be some time (something like 15 seconds probably).
What do you do, when you are some time?
Here, "I may be some time" means "I might take awhile".

The only reason Emperor came to Endor was to get Luke (and possibly destroy Alliance in the process).
Isn't it the other way around?

Didn't IG-88 get married to the second Death Star and explode on his honeymoon or something?
Well if you want to get all EU on us...
The IG-88 in ESB is killed on Cloud City by Boba Fett. His boss, another IG-88, however, did that weird DSII thing that you reference, as part of his master plan to lead a droid uprising and rule the galaxy.
Guys, the EU is weird.

Me too!
Bingo, you're assuming that the Imperials have total control of starfighter design and production in the galaxy.
Yeah, actually, Frink and Bingo make good points. You should definitely listen to what they said here.

Why is everyone so negative to me?
Because you spammed a bunch of threads, which made you appear clueless, which made you a target. And some folks can't resist a target, apparently.
I won't to offend anyone and make Jambes work bad, I just wanted to make a project with your help, so you should also be more positive to me.
That's probably true.
You (all of you) are much worse than me in your behavior.
Given that you're new and didn't know not to spam loads of threads with the same message (...are you new to message boards in general?), also true.
That is a terrible "infographic"

Jambe Davdar's documentary called Star Wars Begins is as complete a version of the Jabba scene with Mulholland available. It's not hard to find, though I can point you in the right direction if you need further help.
Hey, back off, buddy. I'm the one who's gonna help.
Meanwhile, SilverWook is actually helpful.

That's not an assumption, the theatrical release prints was the finished and intended product.
Theatrical variations notwithstanding, of course

Why not creating a Bonus-Disc with deleted scenes, like there is mostly one to every movie?
Here's an idea: Do it yourself and then you can share it with us.
The best reply ever? Possibly!

The Jabba scene doesn't belong in it, either with the actor or the CGI Jabba even if it was originally shot with the actor.
If you were making a traditional "Deleted Scenes" collection for the 1977 George Lucas film Star Wars, the Declan Mulholland as Jabba scene would certainly be appropriate. It was shot along with the rest of the film, intended to be part of the film, and then excised from the film before release. That's the definition of a deleted scene, so it should definitely be included on a separate Bonus Disc, as skywalker09 suggested.
Ben's face in that shot is approaching DNR-waxy appearance.

My apologies…I was unaware that such items were not allowed…I came across this site when I was in search of work prints and I came across talks of them and how to obtain them…so I naturally assumed a good place to place such a way was in the trading and selling section though I do admit to being mistaken and seeing the talk about work prints in the preservation fan edit section, so that correction is duly noted…I had actually heard from two people already, so I do think there is more than just “little value” however…these items are rare and I have traded many times with many different people for a long while… my goal is not to make a profit…definitely in the wrong profession if I was in it for the money…my goal IS to share…and primarily that has been with like minded people who are collectors just like me…and to the person that mentioned sharing, um…trading is a way to share…one way anyway…people obtain what they want and you obtain what you want…as far as uploading to places such as You Tube…sure…I’d be willing to do that too…definitely something to look into as I actually didn't know they were available that way, as I only dealt with the "hard stuff"…but nothing wrong with holding the actual product in your hands without having buffering issues isn’t it?
I believe the common technique today is torrents (particularly using the Myspleen tracker) or newsgroup uploads.
That way, even people who are new and have no "collection" can get things.

Please note:
In general, this forum is more focused on genuine movie fans preserving and sharing lost pieces of movie history, rather than collectors trading to increase the size of their collection. There is little value in posting a long list of stuff you have; pick the one that's the most interesting or most in demand, upload it somewhere, and start a discussion about it.
Yeah, what are trades? Upload and share is the way of things.
