Not sure if anyone else has noticed this yet, but the project is getting a little more attention (a coworker that didn't know about this project or that I follow it found this article and showed it to me).

http://penny-arcade.com/report/article/the-making-of-the-best-version-of-star-wars...-which-of-course-you-cant-get

The moment I saw the author refer to this movie as 'A New Hope', I stopped reading & died a little inside.

Jackasses like this are a small part of what killed Star Wars as it was. When you have a few million small parts like this, you get a world where it's accepted & we get films like the prequels & the 4th Indiana Jones film. :(

Calling a film by its most commonly understood name when writing something intended for large exposure to the general public is not being a "jackass". It's doing things right.

Just an idea for this. Have you considered removing the episode numbers from ESB and RotJ crawls. I know that you're trying to get these as close to theatrical as possible, but seems like a change that could be really cool and match them up to your SW Despecialized. Also cuts ties to the PT a bit.

You do realize that the lack of an episode # on the SWDeEd is because that is accurate to the theatrical, right?

The space limit on a single-layer BD is somewhere around 23.5 GB. 17.9 as-is without any extras is fast approaching that.

I suppose you could start dropping selected audio (particularly lossless audio) to create more space, then of course the revised menus.

There wouldn't be any layer break on a BD-25, of course so no worries there. Even if there were, the software would handle that seamlessly.

Hell no. Don't drop the lossless audio. Drop the various languages. Those matter MUCH less.

I'm amazed we're getting such an unvarnished look at what must have been a more tumultuous production than even ESB was.

I wonder if some of it is because Lucas doesn't run the Star Wars universe anymore. These people may feel less intimidated, or even a little vengeful at what a dick he was.

....or maybe because it's 30 years later.

[Carrie] was great in ESB and not so in ROTJ...

Look Bingo, I think you may be alone in this.  Carrie was great* in RotJ, it's probably her best performance in the trilogy.

*And by great, I mean hawwwwwwwt.

I still don't understand this. She's much better looking in ESB. It's like amount of clothes is inversely proportional to attractiveness for y'all.

I volunteer to put it on Myspleen. I did so for v2.1.

If you all recall, I was able to download 2.1 from uloz and put it up on Myspleen in very little time. The reason being because I'm using the internet at my office, which is really fricken fast.

Plus, I'm really nitpicky about wanting torrents for the same set to have identical formatting/layouts in their Myspleen descriptions. So if I do it myself, I can ensure that it looks right.

Yes thank you.

I'm interested to see what role the speeder-bikes were originally meant to play in the sail barge scene. I've always had a suspicion that they were designed for that scene as the fins on the front and overall shape/design and color looks like Jabbas sail barge and skiffs. Now that BTS photos of them at the sail barge shoot have emerged, I'm more convinced than ever.

I always thought the explanation for their presence was simply that all the ROTJ stuff was in trailers, and all the trailer came to the shoto.

Was I supposed to be getting a distracting amount of flickery movement in the backgrounds?

Did you not see this in my post?

...and trying to correct some of the flicker from the film grain scan I use.

Oh jeez, sorry. Somehow I read that as "I have already fixed the flicker and here are my results" which is...the opposite. My apologies.
