Now, this makes me wonder -- is the cancellation of the series so soon after the regime change a coincidence, or did the powers-that-be's unhealthy preoccupation with "canon" end up alienating the readers who liked the comic for what it was, not what they wanted it to be?

You don't have to project our dislike of canon onto the general fandom for this to make sense. Disliking canon and liking a place for non-canon to exist are not the same. Tales provided a place for non-canon stories; that was what was great about it. You lose that, you lose what's great, you lose the audience. Again, just because the audience liked to read non-canon stories doesn't mean that they dislike canon, only that they liked having a place for non-canon.

I thought that was implied by what I said =\

Oh, then I totally misunderstood. Sorry!

Also, if the nuTales was a dumping ground, that may have something to do with it.

Why did the phones belonging to passengers still ring hours after it was lost and why could they not answer?

This part, at least, is not mysterious. The hijackers collected everyone's phones, but did not go through the tedious effort of turning them all off.

Although it does imply they were receiving cell service, no?

Still, how did they manage to collect over 200 phones from people without one single text message or phone call being made?

 Guns, I assume.

I agree, it's not a totally explains-everything solution, but it works well enough for me.

Praxis shockwave?

Since the release of the Star Wars Special Editions, Praxis shocwaves were added to the Death Star explosions and the destruction of Alderaan. But has anyone ever noticed that when Anakin Skywalker destroys the trade federation ship at the end of The Phantom Menace,it is missing the shockwave? Just something I noticed..

It's a smaller explosion. Only really, really big ones get shockwaves.

Another thing to keep in mind is that although anti-static bags protect their contents from static charge the outside of these bags potentially has MASSIVE amounts of stored up charge I have heard of many people who will take out sensitive electronics and set them down on those bags this is a major no no

 Oh.

Um....

Well I learned a thing.

It's the same reveal as in ANH. Desert place looking for someone. Some guy comes around and is asked: "Hey do you know *****". "Yes it's me".

No it's not. With Yoda, there's a period of "oh this little green guy is going to take me to Yoda later". They're pretty different!

And I say that as someone who thinks preserving the Yoda surprise is dumb.

Well, you have to cut Lando out of the fight. This might be tricky (I haven't actually watched the fight to check), but it does mean getting rid of Han leaning over the side and shooting while mostly-blind.

Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.

On the definite plus side, you get to take out those shots of him lowering his facemask just enough to reveal his identity.

Also, the Falcon coming up over the dunes would look awesome.

The set up process involves matching the lighting, setting up the green screen and then you have to set up the camera and model so that exactly matches the angle of the original full scale speeder set. That isn’t as easy as you would think.

I would think that that's really difficult! But I'd like more information as to just how one figures this out, particularly when it comes to matching motion.
