And so it begins...
And so it begins...
Maybe the leaked films are really fanedits released by Anti-Matter?
And as for canceling pre-orders, I'm wondering if it would be better to the the orders ship and THEN return them. That might make more a point.
If these additions turn out to be true I will be cancelling my BR order and leaving a scathing one star review on Amazon.

I think this part may go in my FE.org sig. ;-)
It's now a trademark, so I want a nickle for every time you post. :p

Ah...I see. Your humor is not always entirely graspable.
Moving on...

I try to get my head around what kind of person this VFlix must be in everyday life. My first two thoughts are he's 13, or he's actually Anti-Matter.
I confess I've had the same thought before. However, I doubt he's really Anti-Matter. I mean, no one could be that desperate for praise, right?
Right?
TV's Frink is the most awesomest, coolest, down right bestest person in the whole wide world. If I wasn't me I'd want to be him. He's that good! Everything he says and does is just awesome. Seriously. You should buy me things. I mean... buy him things.

Was yours the "visitor" comment? Or did they remove yours?
Yes. I forgot to sign in. Realized it after the fact.
Not sure why my asking for examples/proof would ban me. Oh wait...
I posted a comment asking for evidence to support their review.

I dont get it. This is such a small hobby, with a relatively small group of enthusiasts. Why draw the little turf-war lines?
I understand that for antimatter it was some kind of ego/tantrum thing. But the 177 members over there... do THEY have some kind of "us/them" mentality as well? I don't know, but it would be sad.
Well, I don't think those 177 are active. It seems like there are only 5 or so regulars that actually post.
Forgot to mention that I released this back in April, if anyone is interested. Final runtime is 300 minutes, spread over 2 DVD-5 discs for standard def, or 2 DVD-9 for AVCHD.
My favorite line: "There were also fanedit fraudsters who moved in quickly to rip off Anti-Matter's rotoscoping shots and scene revisions, passing off the work as their own creations..."
Okay... proof? How do you KNOW they ripped off your work? There are a lot of people doing similar things with SW fanedits.
It's my understanding that B5 was actually shot in 16:9 for future broadcast in mind, yet when they went to make the DVD's all the special effect shots had to be taken from 4:3 NTSC masters? Isn't this right?
I would love to see whomever owns the rights go through a rigorous remastering process like Paramount did with the original Star Trek series. Here would be a good reason to go back and re-make the CGI.
I’ve been working on a version of Twin Peaks for almost six months now. The goal was to condense the Laura Palmer mystery into a feature film. The run time, as it stands now, is 5 1/2 hours long, though I might cut another 10-15 min. before the final release.
I’m about a month away from completing it and thought some people here might be interested in the preview I put together.
I'm one of the admins at FE.org and nothing has come down the pipe I've seen. PM me here with your user name or e-mail address and I'll look into the situation. Sorry you've been having trouble, but I'll try to get it fixed ASAP.

Glad to see it seems to be in 5.1 audio. and that you made the effort to colour-correct things a little....but can you confirm if there'll be a PAL release of this too, or not? Thanks.
I was originally planning one but the amount of time it took to get the NTSC version released has made me take pause. If there is enough interest though I can certainly get a PAL version whipped up.
I've completed my version of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (dubbed The Essential Edition). The new run time is 108 minutes (14 minutes cut). Details are up at fanedit.info
Here is a rundown of changes:
- prairie dogs have been cut
- Indy's line "Not as easy as it used to be" has been replaced with the version from the trailer
- Spalko's psychic abilities have been cut, including her opening the warehouse door
- warehouse scene has been trimmed
- nuclear test scene has been cut
- motorcycle chase has been trimmed (no library sequence)
- Indy's line "Part time" has been replaced with the version from the trailer
- CGI scorpions have been cut
- Tarzan sequence has been cut
- giant fire ants have been reduced
- Marion isn't a walking grin anymore
- Mutt's emotional outbursts have been cut
- the aliens are now aliens and not inter-dimensional beings
- unnecessary dialog has been cut
- wedding sequence has been re-mixed
- picture has been desaturated and a film grain added
Thanks for sharing that!

When I saw Indy 4, my reaction to the Tarzan part was "Was Spielberg high when he put this scene together?" There's so much wrong there that I don't even know where to start in describing it...
It was like watching the gymnastic girl beating up the dinosaur in Jurassic Park 2 all over again.
Finished through the jungle/tarzan bit. All tarzan crap has been removed. About 20 more minutes to go in the film.

I'd like to see that clip. It sounds interesting!
So would I. I spent a half hour searching for it but couldn't find it. Any luck?
I finally had time today to hammer out some work on this. I've gotten through the first 30-40 min. of the film and have cut approx. 8 min. So far I'm really liking how it's going. I'm looking forward to showing this off when it's done!
That's an excellent suggestion. I'll see what I can do.
@Timstuff: The ending definitely needs some work. I haven't decided the best way of handling it yet, but not showing the alien is on the top of my list. I'm sure I'll be able to make it work somehow.
Not sure about Irena's death yet. That might be a little trickier to explain. But it's something I'm going to work at.
Since this is my first fan edit (though I have been editing for twelve years now) I have a deep appreciation for all the hard work of the people involved, even bad films. I'm not interested in completely restructuring the Indy 4. What I want to do is remove the kid friendly elements that were just plain stupid. This includes the prairie dogs, the bouncing refrigerator, swinging in the vines, etc.
So... in answer to your questions:
1. & 2.) The opening sequence will stay intact. It really didn't bother me. While we'll get the classic Paramount logo fading into the prairie dog mound there will be no prairie dog. I think what I've done works really well here.
3.) I haven't decided about the wedding ending, but I didn't much care for it. It will probably be cut.
4.) Both. The source is from the NTSC DVD (sorry... no HD... just too much work to rip and convert from Blu-Ray on a Mac at this time) but I have plug-in for FCP that can convert to PAL.
5.) A very slight amount. I will also be adding grain though to match the previous films.
6.) As of right now I plan on keeping the final audio mix 5.1.
I thought he cut too much. I expected to be making faster progress but life in general is just slowing me down. My day job, a newborn and one of my own film projects are taking precedence, but rest assured I am making progress.
