Star Trek TNG on BluRay confirmed !

Sadly I doubt if Babylon 5 will ever get the same treatment.

Every single special effect would have to be redone which is why even the DVDs look choppy.

While I would love to see Babylon 5 get the same treatment too the problem is cost. It was much more effects heavy than Star Trek. They had the foresight of shooting in 16:9, but when it came to the special effects it were done in NTSC SD. So all the special effects would have to be redone from scratch. I don't think that's an expense WB wants to incur.

Also, I don't think they are doing the full series yet. They are doing just a handful of episodes to see how well it sells. And I don't think I'd buy the series. I'm quite happy streaming them from Netflix at the moment.

Genrefinity: The Movie Needs Your Help!
Time

I know I don't participate in the forums as frequently as I should, but I have been a member for years.

Anyway, I'm working on my latest feature film, a follow-up to my four part series called "Genrefinity". As of September 2011 it has maintained a cumulative rating of 92% on Funny or Die. We now want to continue it as a feature film.

Instead of going the traditional route like I did with my first feature, I'm reaching out to the Internet community to help fund it. I'm doing this through Kickstarter, and the way it works is you offer a pledge and in return you get one of the incentives listed. The great thing about Kickstarter is that you won't be charged unless the funding goal is reached. If it is reached then the deduction happens through Amazon.

Genrefinity: The Movie is about trio of socially awkward friends and their attempt to revitalize their failing genre-related Internet news site. There will be a lot of pop culture references, a lot of non-PC jokes, and many references to genre movies, television and video games.

If you'd like to check out the episodes you can watch them on Funny or Die or Vimeo, and if you're interested in making a pledge for the feature visit Kickstarter. You can also view a three minute montage of select scenes at Kickstarter. Any pledge amount, even a couple of bucks, will go a long way.

End shameless plug, and I thank you.

Guys, we did great bringing the box set down to two stars on Amazon, but the box set of only the OT is still rather high.  Could we focus on bringing that down too?  People who hate the prequels and (think) they like the OT might assume the whole box is so low because of the prequels, and thus only buy the OT and still get the crap.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PMLFRA/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003ZSJ212&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1NN01B781H0413T4MFEW

I posted my negative review to both, but it removed the one from the OT boxset since it was my second review of similar titles.

Something about every studio has done for years, especially with any franchise as big as SW. Double dip, triple dip, so on.

Yeah, but generally they include the previous features (especially deleted scenes) on the next incarnation. And, if the DVD's are truly being pulled, then this isn't double dipping at all. This is some sort of bastardization. Oh wait... that's this disc set already. Okay... it's some sort of holy hell bastardization.

And on a side note, wasn't the sale price for this set on Amazon $89.99? Looks like it dropped $10. It's now selling for $79.99. Are they trying to make it a more tempting buy?

I was one of those begrudgingly buying the BR set, but I canceled my order today when I heard that the DVD deleted scenes would not be on the BR set. WTF? If you're bringing it to BR why not make it THE definitive set?

You know Star Wars is in a sad state when your more excited about the new printer you got over the SW BR you had hoped to get.

X-men: First class has now surpassed Star Wars: The complete saga boxset as the best selling blu-ray in America at Amazon.

I don't think Lucasfilm was expecting this. Seems the negative attention the blu-rays have been getting had some influence. (:

We still have to get the SW boxset down to 1 star before it's released!

It probably won't make a dent in making a change to the BR, but I suggest those that are angry at what Lucas is doing go vent. Do what I did: post a one-star negative review on Amazon.com. Do it for both the full series and the OT boxset. Be polite, don't be explicit spouting foul language, but explain exactly why you won't be buying this set, and urge everyone to boycott the release. Who knows... it could force Lucas to change his mind.

Those waiting for the blu-ray release will now have to wait a little longer.

Fox delays Star Wars blu-ray release

 Nice try.

It was posted on Blu-Ray.com. I was amused by it. You have to admit it would be nice to see though.
