Looks like it was in fact removed. Here it is put back into the Mustafar sequence:

Definitely needs some color correction. There’s a green hue over it. Not to mention the fact that it is slightly abrupt (and I know how much some people here dislike abrupt shots). That said, there is plenty of camera flipping leading up to it so it feels natural to me at least.

Have we already discussed this reintegration? I don’t remember. If we have I’m sorry for bringing it back up again. I just feel like adding anything to the Mustafar sequence, even if it is only a second long, is worth it.

I think this shot only works if we remove the few seconds before you have it placed, i think there is room to add a few seconds to the scene to make him turn and look, but what… i wonder. The other option is to simply extended the sound Hal has placed when we see the Wayfinder.

I would like to hear him say something about preparing to meet him on Exegol.

As you mentioned as well, there is subtle ways of doing it, and I think with a tweak here and a tweak there, it could be accomplished.

Maybe one could extend or interpolate the shot where Palpatine turns to his advisors after dismissing Vader, and add some Palps dialogue there?

Yeah this is the shot I think I’d hypothetically use to achieve the it.

Its not important but I would love to create more connections between the new movies and the original trilogy and the prequels.

The only road blocks for me are:

  1. finding an editable version of the movie that I can use with Adobe primere.

  2. Being able to render it. I have no knowledge of how to render the movies in their original quality without something messing up.

If I could solve those 2 issues I’d make my own cuts of the movies. The editing part I have experience with, it’s the obtaining the file and getting it to render untouched is my issues.

Star Wars has so much potential for fun as well as playful deepfakes.

One related idea is Tarkin during his one shot in ROTS.

Yes! I was rewatching all the movies lately around the time you release a recut of rogue one and you used the redid deepfake and it had me thinking.

Tarkin at the end of Rots should look like he does in Rogue one, right?

That’s strange, in the compressed version i have the levels reading here at about -3db & in the newer version i have it reading at -6db. Does loading it into adobe premiere making it automatically louder by any chance?

Here’s a third pass at it just incase the s’s are just being very harsh overall & Incase you want to use it, i did a slight de-esser on the whole file, it helped bring down alot of the hiss

The original file has a hissing sound, cleaning it up brought it to the forefront but it can be hidden once the audio is matched to the rest of the sentence, i can make it all sound consistent in the future if you can send me the whole scenes dialogue without the music, that way all that needs to be done is to turn the volume either up or down.

But just listening to the version you posted, it fits so well, if you could make it match Nev’s version of the scene it would be perfect.

With all the mentions of using lines for Luke to say. Or even Kylo.

Has anyone sought out an impressionist?

I wanted/want to get one to add a line of dialogue for Palpatine to mention Exegol to his loyalists on the death star.

All it would take is one good impressionist and one person who knows how to mix audio get it pretty seamless.

Rogue leader- I do agree that the beginning of the movie could be made to flow better. Cut the trash song from the special editions.

I do love the idea of Leia actually fixing the Ewok situation. The movie as a whole just trashed Leia being a political leader and turned her into a damsel in distress.

The movie definitely needs a tightening up and alot of the ewok scenes should be improved on to me bad more serious.

The whole movie needs a colour regrade and make the colours richer, the movie feels very cold.
The speeder scenes could do with a retouch too to make it feel more believable.

Thanks man. What program/technic did you use?

I always like to load files into a system called Wavepad (im 26, i’ve been using since i was 13 so im so accustom to it). It works like Audacity. I like to take a look at the file visually before i load it into Adobe Audition where i do all of the audio work.

You guys made me unpack my computer for THIS!!! haha. I still wanna tweak the shot timings but I think this works well. https://originaltrilogy.com/post/id/1417183/action/topic#1417183

The zoom in luke and the cut to Rey seems very abrupt but if you could keep the shot on Rey until she turns around it would work brilliantly (other than the line needing a compression and eq)

If you want to implement the line (or any line in particular) in the future, PM me the full line of dialogue of the scene with no music and I’ll do a clean up of the audio to hide the discrepancies.

The clip hal posted could work, I like what MR is saying about what to do with it.

But in hals clip the line was flat compared to the rest of the dialogue, but a little eq tweak and a compression to the entire line would give it consistency
