Something happened here in the last month. These edit ideas have gone from simply extending shots to going to insane levels to remove and add things, and it’s all amazing.

It wouldn’t be star wars without a convoluted story. It’s been that way since they retroactively made Anakin & Vader the same person.

Red Exagol seems to be so much more dramatic. That’s kinda the effect I’m going for during the battle sequence. Nice!

They let him post it because the star wars section on reddit is now full of people who parrot each others opinions and seeing him “fix” the “shit” movie is why they allowed it.

I mentioned a few pages back about making the scene on Ach-to look overcast, and while I dont have the capabilities of doing it myself I did a quick edit and I think it makes the ship burning look more striking and it adds to Rey’s sadness and frustration.

I think the every voice part is one of the parts of the movie that genuinely works. It’s also a quick way of connected palpatine to it all. I think moving it would moving it would cheapen the revelation.

In regards to Rey’s lightsaber, it’s one of the only elements I genuinely love from the movie. I like the movie just fine, but the Lightsaber felt like a fresh idea and I love its design and colour.

I came out like 2 days ago, I love it.

I wish Rey’s return to Ach-to was overcast and grey looking to really add to the turmoil.

Harrison Ford’s performance as Han Solo in TFA is his best performance as Han.

I love Rogue One, it feels exactly like a story you’d expect in Legends. I think, if i had my way i would have made the first half of the movie be alot more light hearted, and make it a story about a bunch of ragtags who just want to make a bit of money and while they are in the middle of a mission make it where they stumble upon this destructive weapon, which would make the second half more impactful but with all of that said, i love it warts and all.

Did you do a full overhaul of the lighting? it seems alot brighter especially during the scene with Krennic on Mustafar, it’s not a bad thing btw.

My only issue with, and it’s only tiny gripe, but when krennic’s ship is shown flying to the planet at the beginning, the music’s sound level abruptly gets louder. At 1:16 is where it happens.
Granted i was watching with my headphones on so blips are easier to pick up on.

I think while John Williams should have been an executive producer for the music from the trilogy, i think Michael Giacchino should have been the main composer. His work on Rogue One helped implement the old music while also bringing something completely new.

I don’t like the idea of the music in the new trilogy simply being a ‘‘greatest hits’’.

As i mentioned prior, i think Hal’s edit fixes all my issues with the movie. I am glad it is nothing like the originals, i’m glad TPM is it’s own thing, and while ROTS is definitely a better movie, i think TPM is more interesting to me.

Someone pointed out to me that Maul’s horns have putty all around them, and since then it is so distracting.

The name Skywalker is a legend by the time we get to TFA, and by the end of TROS it makes me feel like anyone can be a ‘skywalker’. She carries on the legend at the end of TROS, she is the ‘Skywalker’ that rose up to destroy the Emperor. It’s a story that will be told by others, just like we see at the end of TLJ when the kids talk about luke like a mystical creature.

I can completely understand your standpoint on this, and i know her carrying the name is a very divisive thing.

I agree completely with you. Growing up i remember Victory Celebration would make me feel sad, it felt like the very end. Yub Nub doesn’t make you feel like we reached the summit of the story. Throughout star wars we’re given music filled with beautiful strings and range, but this song doesn’t even have a feeling of star wars until the last 15 seconds or so.

I think you’re misinterpreting it. Rey’s connection to the Skywalkers comes from Leia, listen to what Luke says when he gives her Leia’s saber. It isn’t that she looks at them as her direct relation, it’s about carrying on what they started.
She see’s the Skywalker name as a name for hope.

I was thinking, of the scenes where rey is on Ahch-To, what if it starts early morning when it’s still quite dark, and once we get to the scene where she takes the wayfinder the scene stays untouched to let us see that she’s been there for more than just 10 minutes and the sun is coming up.

In my opinion it makes the burning ship more striking visual, especially with luke emerging.

He felt Obi-wan, and you’d think he’d feel his offspring, i know it’s all a retcon that they’re related, but that’s how i feel about any current issues, they always end up being ironed out.

Since ANH, We have had constant “dumb star wars moments” that get remedied in time.

Why was there a weak spot in the death star and no one noticed.

Why did obi-wan not tell luke he had a sister, it’s not like it would ruin any plan, matter of fact it would make luke care more about saving her.
