Dark Empire 2 and Empires End sucked in my opinion though, so just the original Dark Empire for me thank you.
I think they could be salvaged, but it would require a fair bit of rewriting. Ditching Palpatine and making the Dark Side Elite the main villains would be great for starters.

But it undermines ROTJ. And ROTS. Which is entirely bad, except when Disney does it.
Somewhat, but for me ROTJ was about the redemption of Vader and Luke becoming a Jedi, so DE does not completely undermine it. Now if you add in the PT nonsense about prophecies, the Chosen One, bringing balance to the force and all that garbage then, yes if does undermine ROTJ.

In terms of coolness I always thought the Mandalorians have nothing on The Emperor’s Royal Guard, but the seedy side of Star Wars has always interested me so I am willing to give this a shot. Hope Nar Shadda is visited at some point.

I was surprised by how little I hated this film. Not a great film by any means, but it was refreshing to have a star wars film in which the main protagonist was male and was not a force user. It also dealt with one of my favourite areas of the SWU - the criminal underworld.
Of course it was full of absolutely terrible ideas and scenes (this is Post-83 Star Wars afterall). The worst offenders:
-Han speaking wookie
-Lando’s droid; perhaps the worst character ever in a Star Wars film
-Darth Maul still being alive
-those stupid pirates led by that stupid girl
Actually writing about those things is making me dislike the movie more so I’m going to stop now.
Waiting for price drops for a video game is a general good rule of thumb. Waited two years until I got Battlefront II for like under $5 I think.
I always, always, always wait many months to buy games now - after the DLC has all come out and the game has been patched. One of the benefits of age is that time moves more quickly - if I was still 16 it would probably be tough to wait.

I agree with both of you. You should not attack someone because of their looks, but I have no interest in seeing Luke, Han and Leia as senior citizens. If only we could have gotten a ST 25 years ago…
The OT is just on another level for me than the rest of these films. I can’t be quite sure why. It’s almost as if the OT was made by young and inspired, visionary directors, writers, editors etc. and the others either by an isolated out of touch billionaire or a massive corporation.

I continue to be amazed that some people HATED this movie so much that they could actually put it last, behind three terribly made movies.
The main OT actors were not in the prequels, so the prequels really couldn’t hurt them. They are in the ST however. So if you really don’t like how the ST portrays them, then I think you can understand where the hate comes from.
What if after the astral projection scene, we cut to Luke on ahchoo. He stands up with a little smile, his lightsaber flies to his hand and he puts it on his belt. He walks out and raises his X-wing from the water - time to join the fight. Would anyone have been opposed to this?

Oh man, no way is the Clone Wars TV series worse than the prequels. Certain arcs and the 2008 movie, sure, but on the whole it was way better than the prequels themselves. The Umbara and final Mandalore arc are both up there with the OT in my mind.
Clone Wars was often very Star Warsy. I was sad to see it go.
Jar Jar was pretty good in it for Christ’s sake. That was an amazing achievement.
