Yeah, that one would be IMPOSSIBLE, First I would need to rotoscope Han, Chewie, Luke as a separate layer.
Then remove the original droid THEN add in a 3D animated droid. If you can get me a droid animation I will try to do it.

Well, I’d selfishly enjoy having a 19SE-sourced set of all relevant shots with R2’s blue-red light ‘fixed’ so others (me) could steal.

Vader’s lights would be the other thing in that category.

The other things that strike me, be they from Adywan’s work or in general are:

• The lack of holograms in ANH. I like Adywan’s holographic display at the rebel base during the Death Star assault.

• Fixing jump cuts during lightsaber ignitions. Something like Adywan’s recent clip, too, to adjust the color and bring a sense of greater consistency to Luke’s saber without erasing the character of the original effects. Sort of made it look about the same as the new Ben v Vader effects look relative to the original version of them.

• Removing the added rats to Mos Eisley, and recreating that shot of traffic from the original but using the SE version of the backdrop.

• Any non-ringed explosion for Alderaan would be great to field

• Replace the black 3PO “Death Star Droid” with a K2-SO model instead

• Replace the shot of the rebel fighters heading toward the Death Star, perhaps with something closer to the original version; the SE shot looks bad and the R2 droid’s panels stick out as incorrect.

• R2 with blue panels in space, like ESB and ROTJ (SE)

• Luke with purple hair just during the medal ceremony

the only thing that would be too hard to fix will be the death star droid because I barely know anything about 3D animation (Also can you specify the shot). The death star approach is plausible but probably will look kinda off.
also, Vader’s lights are two hard to pull off.

Also, For all the people asking, Yes I do de-grain the 4k77 footage the reason it looks grainy is that I have to regrain it to match the Blu-Ray which has ALOT of grain.

Update about the future of this edit.
ESB’s main master will be Adywans 1997 SE reconstruction, as it shares the same color grade as ESB:R.
(changes will of course be reverted).
as for the return of the Jedi, I will be doing an all-new color grade, Adywan style.

ORIGINAL POST: ROTJ has one of the worst grades on Blu-ray, It has this weird oversaturated blue tint, And has Desaturated reds, Which themselves look purple-like. and don’t get me started with the dreaded magenta overcast which is hard to get rid of. So I’ve gone ahead and color-corrected the film Anyway-style I’ve used the available scenes/pictures as reference. After this is done (few days) I will have a complete set of Adywan-style color-corrected Blu-rays. which I will use for my preservation and edits.

Things to note:
If colors look too blue or too grey that’s how they are SUPPOSED to look, I didn’t recolor or desaturate anything as that is destructive to the film.
Also, the crawl is in Spanish, because that’s the best master I could find.

2024 UPDATE:
Hey everyone, so I’ve recently rekindled my fascination for ROTJ, so I’ve decided to Re-up this project and do an all-new color correction.

Main Differences from Old Correction:
Final Render will be a full-quality file (20 GB or thereabouts) and this time it’ll be sourced from the original Blu-ray, which gives me an advantage at removing the crappy over-exposed highlights this film has, Which turned out to be kind of simple to do:

Thanks to the Blu-ray’s high bit-rate, I was able to get a good amount of detail back that was lost in the highlights. couldn’t do much about the shadows though. Anyways here’s a clip:
