ROTJ 2011 Blu-Ray Color Correction And Restoration (RELEASED).
Time

ORIGINAL POST: ROTJ has one of the worst grades on Blu-ray, It has this weird oversaturated blue tint, And has Desaturated reds, Which themselves look purple-like. and don’t get me started with the dreaded magenta overcast which is hard to get rid of. So I’ve gone ahead and color-corrected the film Anyway-style I’ve used the available scenes/pictures as reference. After this is done (few days) I will have a complete set of Adywan-style color-corrected Blu-rays. which I will use for my preservation and edits.

Things to note:
If colors look too blue or too grey that’s how they are SUPPOSED to look, I didn’t recolor or desaturate anything as that is destructive to the film.
Also, the crawl is in Spanish, because that’s the best master I could find.

2024 UPDATE:
Hey everyone, so I’ve recently rekindled my fascination for ROTJ, so I’ve decided to Re-up this project and do an all-new color correction.

Main Differences from Old Correction:
Final Render will be a full-quality file (20 GB or thereabouts) and this time it’ll be sourced from the original Blu-ray, which gives me an advantage at removing the crappy over-exposed highlights this film has, Which turned out to be kind of simple to do:

Thanks to the Blu-ray’s high bit-rate, I was able to get a good amount of detail back that was lost in the highlights. couldn’t do much about the shadows though. Anyways here’s a clip:

Just the Color Grade: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BL-sieK703sOTsw8ufNVApsi7nsWPowS/view?usp=sharing
I will also be replacing out-of-focus shots with the 2019 4k Blu-ray.

Still have a few things to do, and a few kinks to iron out, but overall it’s almost done.
expect a release next week or thereabouts.
also, any thoughts on the grade would be very much appreciated.

Help: Looking for... Reivax DTV Capture of the 1997 Special Edition

It appears to be on Usenet: search for “reivax” on nzbking•com and look at the last two results. The “free-usenet•com” news server has ceased to be, sadly. Unless you know of a good alternative to this (please let me know if so!) or you already have a Usenet account somewhere else, you’ll need to sign up to a free trial with one of the many providers.

They look so amazing!

Star Wars Trilogy (2019 Blu-Ray regrade) (CANCELED)
Time

This will be a Regrade of the first 3 Star Wars films on blu-ray.
(based on Adywans grade.)I am going for a natural vibe not theatrical.
Also, a light layer of grain will be added.
I will post comparisons in a bit.
Also please tell me what colors you want to be fixed.

Should the Audio Track be completely reconstructed from scratch? I feel as if the Sound Mixes from after the 1997 Special Edition don’t sound right.

Also, after listening to the Mono Track from 4K77, I’ve discovered that before the Dianoga drags Luke under for the second time, he says/yells “No!”

What the hell are you talking about?
Revisited has always had new mixes.
