Idea & Help Wanted: Mission impossible 3 hype
Time

Hello! I’m collecting everything I can lay my hands on Mission impossible 3 promotional TV footage. Stuff like official Electronic press kit, Japanese press conference, UK tv newsreports will be part of my collection. I’m looking for TV reports from shows like “Entertainment tonight” and “Access Hollywood”, footage from worldwide premieres, etc. If anyone can help me out with this, that’d be awesome (I’m open for trade or purchase). Thank you!

Idea & Info: a Preservation of Alien Evolution doco?
Time
Hi Triffid! That's some nice footage you're contributing to our Alien project. I've sent mine some time ago. Is there anyone else left to contribute with Alien stuff, or that's about it? It's so great to see how much rare stuff we managed to collect. I've actually had a short 1-2 minute Alien War promo, but sadly I lost it a while ago (it's mostly used for TV report I've included for the project anyway).

24 The Game - Cut Scenes Fan Edit (by daveytod) (Released)
Time
daveytod & Raul2106, it is such a great project you're working on. I have a Mac so I could never play 24 game. I'd love to see the "mini movie" you're compiling from the game. Do you have any other 24 extras not released on DVD? All I have are a couple of season 5 trailers and a mini prequel to season 5, in case you're interested. Thank you for doing this project. You'll make many 24 fans very happy!

*** The Official DigitalFreakNYC Release Thread*** (SW, Indy + Others!)
Time
DigitalFreakNYC, you've done a great job with Temple of Doom DVD! Looking forward to more Indy preservation projects. Also I've finally checked out your Se7en criterion extras DVD and was impressed as well. Too bad those extras didn't appear on official DVD release. Keep on preserving those rarities - I'm sure all of us appretiate it a lot...

Info: Matrix Universe - Question to the Crowd...
Time
Hello! I know this is off topic, but as a fellow Matrix fans I'd like to ask you if you have any "Making of" trilogy footage for trade (stuff like TV specials & reviews, premiere footage, etc...). I already have 3 full DVDs with stuff officially not available, such as Press Kit behind the scenes and interviews and I'm desperately trying to locate more. If someone can help, please PM me.

PS I have Press Kit CDs for Reloaded & revolutions, in case someone needs hi-res photos for DVD cover art

It's nice to see the Alien project flourish in all aspects, including cover design which is far better then most of official releases. I found the word "appendix" quite interesting to use for the project - it's rarely used and adds a sort of seriousness to the whole thing.

Regarding DVD boxes... I recently discoverd fantastic DVD boxes. They look exactly the same as regular single DVD case, but can actually fit FOUR DVDs inside without any problem whatsoever (1 at each side and 2 at middle tab)! Wonderfull design, considering others on the market which double the size of box just to hold 2 DVDs. This for sure would solve the cover artwork problem and of course the storage space (not to mention space for total of 4 appendix discs with everything Alien we could lay our hands on in just one box)

Does "Video Press Pak" For Aliens contain the same footage as official Alien saga release?

If possible, I suggest not doing transfers from NTSC-PAL and vice versa. I use DVD studio pro (on Mac) and version 1.5 can combine both NTSC and PAL clips in the same project (Versions 2 and 3 can't do that for some reason). Of course TV capable of reproducing both systems would be needed.

Regarding AFI documentaries... There is no reference of one for Ridley Scott being made. The one with Cameron did feature some aliens EPK footage, but all of it in its entirety was released on The Alien saga DVD

AVP was pretty decent considering low budget and lack of involvement from RS & JC. In a recent interview even Cameron himself placed it as 3rd best alien movie ever (probably after Alien & Aliens. He hated Alien 3... I wonder if he got to watch the new cut, which improves it significantelly making it look more like Fincher we got to know)

Alien War had great props. One Colonial Marine told me they had exact replicas for Pulse rifles but they were falling apart due to wear and tear, so they had to replace them with more robust models. Does anyone have any footage on Alien war? Even smaller size featurettes taken off internet might look decent full screen, at least as an easter egg. Speaking of attractions, there is a small segment on Alien in a "film history" tram tour in MGM Disney studios in Florida. Just animatronic of Ripley and Alien jumping off the roof...

Has anyone seen any vintage TV appearances done during promotion of Alien & Aliens? I'd love to get hold of those...

Thanks for kind words! I've been collecting stuff since early 90s, and I found pride in my collection even though I think is just a surface scratch. Living in a small country doesn't really give you access to all the media hype in say, US & UK. I'd be happy to share my stuff in order to make this collection a worthy addition to quadrilogy set. Ash595, contact me so we can arrange exchange of materials. By the way, HRT stands for Hrvatska Radio TV (Croatian national TV) and it denotes previews it featured in various film shows.
I've been on "alien war in London" several times and it really is the most realistic film attraction ever made. You run & sweat with colonial marines, people get snatched by aliens and quite real sence of thril land fear is generated. After I got used to it I scared some girl improvising a facehugger on her shoulder, grabbed my friend for a foot and provoked a reflexive slapp on my face... I've heard about (real) US marines picking a fight during attraction with (fake) colonial marines and people throwing up afterwards. Too bad it closed. I've heard the place flooded and insurance money was good and basicaly no need to reopen it, They should have open one in Japan.
On the other hand "Ride at the speed of fright" in San Francisco is cheeesy simulator ride (with even cheesier acting), but it does feature aliens style cinematography (in IMAX format) and sets.
