Help: looking for... 'The X-files' - bloopers and propaganda
Time

Hello! After rewatching the complete series on DVD recently I got hooked up on X-files all over again. I’ve been trying to locate any promotional video footage for the X-Files series and the movie that hasn’t been officially released, but I’ve had no luck in locating any. I’ve found out that two tapes listed below exist, but never actually found anyone who has them. If someone on this forum does have anything similar, I’d love to hear from you! I have a large collection of such materials for many movies if anyone is interested in trade. Thanks!

X-Files Bloopers & Interviews VG- 90 minutes (contains 25 min. of bloopers and an hour of interviews)

X-Files Movie Propaganda VG- 1:40 (contains SNL Duchovney skits [X-Files, Cheerleaders & Jeopardy], MTV X-Files Movie Special, Gillian Anderson-Jay Leno, Fox X Files Movie Special, Duchovney on Leno & Letterman)

Official Release Thread - Alien Appendix - Updated with #2 info (Released)
Time
I think it's wiser to get all related threads into this one to avoid confusion, lack of information and gather all interested/contributing fans under one hat. This thread is the most relevantly titled - "Official Release Thread - Alien Appendix" and we should treat it as the official thread and eventually re-route the members from the others. Speaking of members, has anyone been in contact with owner of this site - www.alienscollection.com ? I've sent him a few emails but never got a reply. Going through his list I guess he's got quite mouthwatering collection whose video footage would greatly enhance our Appendixes (and maybe ours might enrich his as well)...

Hi. It brings a genuine joy that our Alien Appendix project is in full throttle and even new more materials surfaced. Don't forget that theis parallel thread discusses the Alien Appendix project (in case someone isn't following the posts there): http://www.originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=11&threadid=2931&highlight_key=y&keyword1=alien

RIJIR, you have quite interesting clips that I'm sure all of us would just LOVE to see (we barely have any Aliens TV stuff). They'd be a great addition to the Appendix! Thanks for your contribution, I guess meedermow will contact you shortly.

Jonno, Aliens pepsi ad I mentioned is actually Alien 3 Pepsi ad. Regarding Alien war documentary, I think any AW footage is well worth preserving. If/when the official release is out then we should simply delete it from the Appendix and buy the original. Considering how much problems AW encountered during it's short run, who knows what might happen to the documenatry that should have been out 6 months ago (according to the official site).

We're back!

It's really nice we got the ball rolling now that meedermow and Jonno are back in the game. I know exactly what you're talking about meedermow - it's so frustrating waiting for new footage to arrive, expecting better quality and waiting for footage to fill up the disc. Once my HD got corrupted and I lost some rarities I never found again so I've learned to finish discs faster.

Well, I suggest we finish appendix 3 and 4 containing "making of" materials chronologically. I guess Alien and Aliens could fit on one disc and Alien 3 and Alien resurrection on another. Or maybe Alien appendix as vol. 3, Aliens appendix with CBS cut of Aliens as vol. 4 and the rest as vol. 5. Jonno's list still looks great. Meedermow, can you please list the additional materials that you might have. That goes for anyone else too. Like jonno says - now is the time to speak! I also have Pepsi ad for Aliens in case you don't already and Alien in 30 seconds re-enacted by bunnies (one for Titanic was added on the official release of the movie). Triffid mentioned a few other sources worth getting (not sure if anything is released officially), so the additional footage added to current Jonno's list is as follows:

- promo VHS tape for Alien DC (trailer, a featurette and few short interviews)
- promo VHS tape forAlien 3 (trailer, a featurette and few short interviews plus behind the scenes). Both contain a trailer, a featurette and few short interviews.
- U-matic tape Making of Aliens
- Alien War documentary
- Pepsi ad for Aliens
- Alien in 30 seconds re-enacted by bunnies (http://zaint.no-ip.com/flash/alienbuns.swf)

If triffid needs financial help with obtaining beforementioned I suggest we help him out. US Dollar is all-time low at the moment so it's worth the bucks. If anyone needs help, let me know...

PS Does anyone know what's going on with Alien War Story documentary that should have been out a few months ago (www.alienwarstory.com)? This might be the doc triffid mentions.

Idea & Info: a Preservation of Alien Evolution doco?
Time
Hello! It's been almost a year since we've started Alien appendix project and we haven't moved much on, haven't we? The purpose of this project was to archive rare "making of"/"tv hype" footage, but somehow we got sidetracked into fan edits and re-cuts of the movies which, honestly, should be at another forum.

I have contributed with many rarities including Alien war & Aliens: Ride at the speed of fright footage and I'm wondering if these and other materials would be available anytime soon to the hardcore Aliens fans on this forum... I sincerely hope we can get some spare time and concentrate on finishing this project. I'm not sure who's in charge of production any more, but if that person is unable to do it, I'm willing to pick it up.

In the spirit of holidays I'm attaching a rare treat you can download from this link - a 43 second Alien War promo that was part of an EPK. It's a 25MB zip file containing DVD files ready for use: mpg & ac3. Happy holidays!

BLADE RUNNER: The Unauthorized OFF-WORLD Box Set (Released)
Time
Great news on Blade runner folks! read more about it here: http://www.digitalbits.com/#mytwocents

This coming September, there will be a new limited DVD release (HD-DVD & Blu-ray Disc are also planned) of the restored 1992 Director's Cut (you know... the one that isn't really a director's cut). This will be available for just four months. We believe this is basically the 2-disc release that Warner had originally planned to bow LAST year.

Then next year, just in time for the film's 25th anniversary, Ridley Scott's ultimate Blade Runner: The Final Cut will hit theaters for a limited run. This will be a REAL director's cut, with restored scenes and more - all the stuff that Ridley's always wanted to do with the film but hasn't really been given the chance to do before. That will be followed later in the year by an Ultimate Blade Runner DVD release. You can expect a multi-disc box set (again, likely with a simultaneous HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc release) that will contain at least four different versions of the film... ALL in full anamorphic widescreen, we might add. You'll get the film's original U.S. theatrical cut, you'll get the expanded international theatrical cut, you'll get the 1992 Director's Cut and you'll get the new Final Cut as well. Now... we realize at this point, you may have questions. Keep in mind, there's a TON of additional material that's going to be included in this set that hasn't been announced and can't be talked about yet - all-new material that you've never seen before. The set is pretty early in the planning and production stage, so it's way too early to talk details, but trust us... some very cool stuff is in the works. These extras will likely be different from the September '06 release, so if you buy both you'll at least be getting your money's worth.

longtime Ridley Scott DVD producer Charles de Lauzirika and his team are involved in project, and have already been working on the set for a while now. Lauzirika, as you may know, was the producer responsible for Fox's 9-disc, massively comprehensive Alien Quadrilogy box set, as well as the multi-disc special editions of Scott's Gladiator (from DreamWorks), Black Hawk Down (from Sony) and Kingdom of Heaven (recently available from Fox), among others. You should also know that Lauzirika and his team are big fans of Blade Runner themselves. Rest assured that they know what you guys all want to see on this release, and they're working very hard to make it as good as it can be. Trust us when we say that this project is in EXACTLY the right hands.
