At the moment I don’t need to put in The Gunslinger. I’ve edited out any reference to Mando knowing Fennic and it works. She’s just Boba’s sidekick or hire. Have to see if that still holds true by the end of the season. I’d like to avoid using the Gunslinger if I can because it really drags out the Tatooine stuff and I really don’t like Toro.

Annoyingly, from a film perspective, the best “end” to episode 2 would be the kidnap of the child. It would give it an ESB vibe. However, I’m then not left with enough material for Episode 3.

If you can avoid using the Gunslinger episode, then it’s perfect 👌🏽

Well, I think you should end the 2nd episode with the end of “The Jedi”, less dramatic, but pacing would be better I guess. You can always put the scene from 2x4 at the end 😉

I have no idea what you are gonna do about 2x5,but i think you should include it, in some trimmed version. Apart from being a cool action packed ep, it also revealed a lot of important stuff to the whole story.

I ve been watching your edits since 2015 and I must say you evolved as an editor a lot in terms of cutting the stuff thats not crucial in story-wise terms 😉 I think, just an observation of a viewer of your edids 😅

I really don’t want to mess with Episode 1. It works so well as a 3-act movie, probably the best of all my film edits.

I think I t’ll be a choice between two 1.5 hour movies and one 2.5+ hour movie.

I dunno if you already saw it on YouTube (I didn’t see any thread here dedicated to it), but there’s a guy that has been doing for one year now an animated CGI movie adaptation of the Heir to the Empire.

Its actually very good and professionally made. And since the guy made already did like 1/3 of the book, there’s a real chance that this project, unlike many others, will be finished in some time.
Well, the animation is well and professionally done, Rebels lvl I’d say.

I really can’t wait to see it finished cause its amazing.

Well, in my opinion, if you dont wanna cut all the great stuff, you should divide it into two movies (suposing it Will go like that) :

1st one: Mando’s Journey to find the Jedi. Trimmed 1st ep, some bits of the 2nd ep, Episodes 3,4,5 with some Trimmed moments of course. At the end, it turns out that the protagonist has to follow another path. Maybe as a cliffhanger, or a postcredid scene, you could move the last scene of the 2x4 😉

I think its a great idea to use the smudgers I movie. Just one thought, In my opinion you should trim a lot the first act.
well, If I were u Id cut the whole Anakin mission to arrive on Christophis. It ruins the pacing and its Just the most boring part I think 😀
Then, there is the first part of the clone Troopers story, on kamino, which should be drasticaly trimmed. It s Just too cartoonish for me. And pacing wise, it would be better to reduce it drasticaly.

What do you think about that?

I would personally start with a smudgers version of the first TCW movie, without the long introduction (the first part of the story is really boring and irrelevant, i mean the mission where anakin Goes to Christophis) centered on the battle of the planet itself with introducing Ahsoka.

For me, at this moment So far, the best aproach is to include most of the 1st ep, the beggining of the 2nd, and then transition to 3rd.for eg. they meet the NT patrol, the mando starts to escape, then some nice transition to him landing with His piece of junk on the water planet. It would suggest the obvious outcome of the meeting with the Xwings 😉 or do a transition from him saying it May go wrong without hyperspace goin, and then we See the wreckage of His ship landing 😅

For me, most of the 1st EP should stay, most of the 2nd should go.
Maybe the transition shouild be from him saying it Will be a trouble to go without hyperspace, to him landing with the crashed space ship? It would be a humorous Way to show he was right, without gettin into details 😅
Im really curious how the season will go, and how structure wise to make it one or 2 movies

I dont See any reason why would he add a filler from s01 to this edit. What would be the point? 😀

I’m assuming maybe you will try to blend 1x05 with the first episode of this season? I think you could maybe start the second movie off with them in the middle of hunting down Fennec Shand?

At this point, i dont think mentioning 1x5 even makes sense.
