I’m done with the sync to the latest workprint for the Spanish subtitles. I’ll begin working on English/French as soon as I can.
I don’t mind tweaking things further if any worthwhile changes come about.

I Just wanted to say, Hal, John and all who participated a lot in this edit. Guys, you are amazing. You did Such an amazing and Creative work. Its what this fansom should be about, about sharing SW world together in a positive, productive Way. Its Just incredidble, how you all basically remade and SAVED the last chapter of the saga we all love.
Hal, you basically made this movie watchable. When I left the theater in december, i was devastated. I was waiting So many years for E9 and I truly believe in this movie. And I was So dissapointed. I decided to never watch this movie again in my life. For me, the saga eneded with E8.
And then this topic started. And new ideas were created.one by one. And then, you guys started to make those beautiful pieces, step by step, and I believed again this movie can be SAVED. That i can enjoy it and consider it a decent epilogue of the saga. And then it came out (i mean the v6 workprint). And its amazing. Its brilliant what you did. I enjoy watching this movie again. Its far from Perfect. But at least, its good. I enjoy watching it. And I love the ghosts, i like purple saber, and Palpatine Doesnt explain spirit passing blah blah to Rey. And I adore the ending, with the chess scene and Falcon flying off and all. It feels like a proper ending.
This version of the movie is Perfect for me. Its the E9 i waited for, i thought i d never See it and now its here. Its now. It exists. Because you guys made it.
HAL and All of you, all of you who gave ideas, who did some shots, scenes, audio etc. Big thank you to all of you. Fans saved Star Wars. Its unbelievable what a United Group of Creative Fans can do.
You guys are my heroes. For me, E9 was made by Disney and OT trilogy crew 💪🏽 i hope one day George Lucas and JJ Abrams get the chance to See this fanedit 🖖🏼 May the force be with you people, im sure its strong with this community.

To replace the machine without any upgrade in specs or a more recent model could possibly be snagged for about $200 with patience. If people want to donate that could certainly be done. Of course, as a personal thing I’d still eventually need to upgrade in due time, but it’d restore things to working order for now.
If I can find any 2011 Mac Mini, I can dig any crappy old keyboard and mouse out of the trash and I have a monitor. If it’s a 2011 Mini, I can even use my current RAM chips.
Actually, the donating idea makes sense. I mean, a lot of us waits to See your version of TROS to have a respectful ending of the saga.
So, I watched the IV (cause its my favorite arc in the TCW) and Its in general a nice and enjoy Able experience.
Though, i think you d have to work on the opening crawl. In my opinion, if its too difficult to do (i imagine it can be), maybe think about other possibilities, like Solo / RO Type of crawl or even the 2003 CW Type of opening?
And I find the transition a Lil bit off, i think you could still work on them as well 😉

As always, i think u did an amazing work. I consider it even better than your TCW edits because of less fillers. I thought u left too much in those edits. Here, i think u found a Perfect balance.

One issue though. I dont like the mandalorian logo on the opening crawl. Doesnt feel Star Wars to me. I think I should have l eft a classicAl SW logo with a subtitle.

I’ve made it so as Kylo enters, Hux and Pryde abruptly look in his direction, dialogue is isolated can send the message without music and hologram sounds through if needed.

I’ve been working on the subtitles and I gotta say, it still feels off to not have the words “First Order” and “Resistance” be capitalized on the crawl, since they were on both TFA & TLJ. On TFA “FIRST ORDER”, “NEW REPUBLIC” & “RESISTANCE” are capitalized. On TLJ, since the republic is gone, it’s only “FIRST ORDER” & “RESISTANCE”. Then TRoS goes waaay too far, capitalizing “EMPEROR PALPATINE”, “GENERAL LEIA ORGANA”, “REY”, “FIRST ORDER” & “KYLO REN”.
But it would make sense to go back to the way it is in the previous two, it would feel more cohesive, specially since they would work really well with the current crawl: “The tyrannical FIRST ORDER has retaliated” & “to unite the disparate worlds in the name of RESISTANCE.” I think it would be better to keep it consistent amongst this trilogy, rather than looking for a pattern from the previous films.
On a different note, I also think it feels wrong to name drop Mustafar on the crawl, since it only appears for two minutes and is mostly irrelevant to the main plot. The scene is meant to imply Kylo has been scouring the galaxy for a way to reach Exegol. Some previous unseen search (across however many planets) has lead him to the wayfinder on Mustafar. Which is just another stop on his quest for Exegol. Similar to how Rey’s quest leads her to Pasaana, Kijimi & Endor. The way the crawl is right now it sounds like Kylo only went to Mustafar, the original crawl’s description of Kylo “raging in search” made it more clear he was on a larger quest than just a one-two stop.
We all wish Mustafar had more screen time, and there were several attempts to extend the sequence. As it stands right now it works well enough as a small cameo (it would be great to get Fortress Vader in the background, to make it clear it is THE lava planet), but it doesn’t make sense to put it in the crawl, given how it’s really not important.
These two points would really help the crawl feel legit I think.

I still would wait to mention the New Republic until the second paragraph. The Imperial Remnant is the prime antagonist, and The Mandalorian is the protagonist. They are who should be in the first and third paragraph, with other elements of the setting between. The New Republic is too anecdotal to the story, even with the whole season. I think you should, like story does, kinda brush off the New Republic as insignificant.

I think the state of the galaxy is necessary, but the focus should be more on establishing the imperial remnant, explaining why no one else is around, then introduce the bounty hunters and specifically the Mandalorian.
