And I’m like “whaaat?!”, did you guys actually find this actor and ask to do the lines? 😮
I’ve been going through these episodes and really the only issue I have with them besides technical ones is the opening texts. I feel like they aren’t needed at all… They just take up time that honestly leaves me bored. I feel like taking the first few minutes of an episode and doing a cold open before the title card is better.

I don’t feel like her using lightsabers takes away from Luke, any more than Ben using a lightsaber in the cantina takes away from Vader showing up later.
This episode introduced Din to the concept of the Jedi, as well as serving as a warning to what they could be. This is Din getting a glimpse of what could become Grogu’s future. That’s fairly significant. Her reluctance to help and her prowess in battle feed into that insight. It all gives Din a choice of whether this is the path he wants for Grogu or not.

Lately I ve been rereading The Hand of Thrawn books, and I think it could be simply and smoothly edited into new films timeline. After first few chapters those are my observations:
-changing 19ABY into, lets say, 14ABY.five years is long enough, and then the events of the TT seems more recent.
-changing Solo children into one Ben Solo (minor character anyway)
-removing references to reborned Palpatine.
-fixing some minor continuity issues
-maybe add some minor easter eggs (ST/ new canon names for eg) here and there.

I read through the overview, it seems unclear what drives the plot. Why are they going from place to place to place to place if not to get to Palpatine?
You could always establish something about some old Sith fleet on Exegol or Katan fleet from EU. You could make the protagonists lookin for it just to find out it was already discovered by the FO 😄
Im wondering how s that almost no one here considered cutting the Emperor completely from the film and making Kylo the main villain instead? 😄

I believe that the only way to pull it would be to cut him completely from thr Exegol 3rd act, and restructure the scenes order, so the scene of him and Han Solo wpuld appear just before the final Tatooine scene. He just throws the lightsaber and stands there. It d be a nice ending for him, like, bitter sweet. He s brought back to the light, but what next? What can he do now? It would be a nice end for thos character.

I also like the idea that Rey killed her parents. I never found a way to implement it into the movie that didn’t feel forced. As an inexperienced editor, this being my first real project, I was also generally keeping things as simple as needed to get my goal accomplished.
Check out krausfadr’s fanedit (Resurgance), it could be very useful for you 😉
Dark Empire I And IIs cut could be a nice idea as well. I know it d bea bit of canon soap opera with the Emperor returning as a clone again and again, BUT, it d add a lot to the story as well.
And about making a Canon LOE version, I haven’t read “Ahsoka” but I think I ve heard there were some flashbacks to her encounter with Maul. Maybe you could just include that?
Or maybe just do a one big novel like Game of Thrones and use some parts of other Canon novels for eg. Some trimmed version of “Dark Disciple” as a Volume I, or some chapters of the Shadow Conspiracy novelization. I know it wouldn’t be one coherent story, but, you d end up with a huge Clone Wars canon chronicle.
For me, what would be super interesting, would be an edit of Thrawn Trilogy that would fit the movie Canon (the CW dates, Ben Solo I stead of the twins etc).

I think you should start with ep1, when the guys sit on the table, and Cobb stats to say something he probably won’t stand a chance against mando, cut directly to Mando going away with the armor from the end of this episode (Bo as cameo). Then, use the start of the second episode, cut into 3rd.use the whole 3rd episode, cut the 4th,only have the scene with Dark troopers, we ll suppose they repaired the ship on Mon Cala.then,use some trimmed s02e05. Then the whole ep6. As much as 7th was nice, it’s a filler so you d have to cut it :c Then, the final act is the 8th episode. It leaves you with 3 whole episode, short bits of 2 eps and one trimmed. You ll end with a coherent 2h30 movie I think
Is there maybe a version of AotC extended without the animated Dooku shots \ scene? 😊

So, no point of starting a thread for something that’s basically a trimmed version of the 1st episode of smudger9’s series.
I made for myself a shorter version of the I, I cut the first 39min (I just consider those stories uber boring).
Unfortunately, my skills didn’t let me edit it the way the opening could stay.
So, I also cut 20th Century Fox logo (since I cut the classic opening, there’s was no point of leaving this nostalgia call, especially that the studio didn’t have anything 2 do with TCW), the fanedit org logo (cause I wont post this edit of someone else’s fanedit there, though I left the fanedit claimer in the beginning)
and I left lucasfilm logo silent along with “Long time ago…”.
My custom movie starts with Obiwan and the rest is unaltered Smudgers9s brillant work 😉

Smudger, lovely to have you with us, your input is very welcome here! I think your first movie intercuts really nicely, which manages to permit the slightly compressed timeline. It definitely works.
I can’t imagine a version of the Huttlet crisis storyline that isn’t painful to watch, but maybe that’s a failure of imagination. I’m glad you mention rescoring though, because like Downfall/Duel of the Droids it does have that really awkward rock music that they experimented with early.
Szopman, I actually quite like both Cat and Mouse and Hidden Enemy, enough that I’ve thought about seeing if I can include them as a later “return to Christophsis” arc.
But I feel like you’re right that this project would prefer to trim them from our first episode (assuming I use some variant of Smudger’s), for pacing and to best help focus the audience on what will be our central character.
Why not cut it into 2 entries then? 😀 Then you have one 40min episode introducing the better, more cinematic one 😀😁
