For me, most of the 1st EP should stay, most of the 2nd should go.
Maybe the transition shouild be from him saying it Will be a trouble to go without hyperspace, to him landing with the crashed space ship? It would be a humorous Way to show he was right, without gettin into details 😅
Im really curious how the season will go, and how structure wise to make it one or 2 movies

I dont See any reason why would he add a filler from s01 to this edit. What would be the point? 😀

Anyway, dunno how the plot resolves, but maybe you could use a title of a classic SW book from the old EU. “The Mandalorian Armor” 😉 its always nice to do some nod/fanservice to the Old EU works.

I’m assuming maybe you will try to blend 1x05 with the first episode of this season? I think you could maybe start the second movie off with them in the middle of hunting down Fennec Shand?

At this point, i dont think mentioning 1x5 even makes sense.

You probably shouldn’t. Some of the stuff that Smudger cut from season 1 will seemingly be important in season 2, so you should watch the actual show first.

Time will tell, but I don’t think I cut anything crucial. I suspect sufficient exposition will be given in season 2.

Well, from what we’ve seen so far, Mando will have to return to Tatooine at some point, and they’ll probably bring the events of episode 5 into it. Also, it seems like the blue guy from the opening scene of episode 1 will be making a return.

So I wouldn’t recommend watching season 2 for someone who has only watched this edit beforehand. But then again, I just don’t like the idea of someone seeing a fan edit before the original source material in the first place.

I saw the s01 first. I said id wait with the second one until I ll have seen the next fanedit. And why? Because i simply think smudgers version is better.
When I See the sequel, I Just want to feel as watching a New SW movie, at that moment it Will be only important to me, will be enjoying the movie experience. I dont Care bout possible fillers he ll cut on His Way.

And I agree with smudgers, that most of it can be or deduced by audience or mentioned in op crawl 💪🏽

Apart from the Mandalorian logo in the opening crawl, my only little “issue” with the edid is the “seven Samurai” ripoff episode. I think you could have cut it as well. Then, when Mando finds the commando Woman again, it could be simply assumed they did a job together in the past, it didnt need any explanation in my opinion. The dialogue itself states they worked together once. Only the line bout what happened on that planet would have to be cut somehow.
But I enjoy the edit more than the show anyway 😀

I Just wanted to say, Hal, John and all who participated a lot in this edit. Guys, you are amazing. You did Such an amazing and Creative work. Its what this fansom should be about, about sharing SW world together in a positive, productive Way. Its Just incredidble, how you all basically remade and SAVED the last chapter of the saga we all love.
Hal, you basically made this movie watchable. When I left the theater in december, i was devastated. I was waiting So many years for E9 and I truly believe in this movie. And I was So dissapointed. I decided to never watch this movie again in my life. For me, the saga eneded with E8.
And then this topic started. And new ideas were created.one by one. And then, you guys started to make those beautiful pieces, step by step, and I believed again this movie can be SAVED. That i can enjoy it and consider it a decent epilogue of the saga. And then it came out (i mean the v6 workprint). And its amazing. Its brilliant what you did. I enjoy watching this movie again. Its far from Perfect. But at least, its good. I enjoy watching it. And I love the ghosts, i like purple saber, and Palpatine Doesnt explain spirit passing blah blah to Rey. And I adore the ending, with the chess scene and Falcon flying off and all. It feels like a proper ending.
This version of the movie is Perfect for me. Its the E9 i waited for, i thought i d never See it and now its here. Its now. It exists. Because you guys made it.

HAL and All of you, all of you who gave ideas, who did some shots, scenes, audio etc. Big thank you to all of you. Fans saved Star Wars. Its unbelievable what a United Group of Creative Fans can do.
You guys are my heroes. For me, E9 was made by Disney and OT trilogy crew 💪🏽 i hope one day George Lucas and JJ Abrams get the chance to See this fanedit 🖖🏼 May the force be with you people, im sure its strong with this community.

To replace the machine without any upgrade in specs or a more recent model could possibly be snagged for about $200 with patience. If people want to donate that could certainly be done. Of course, as a personal thing I’d still eventually need to upgrade in due time, but it’d restore things to working order for now.

If I can find any 2011 Mac Mini, I can dig any crappy old keyboard and mouse out of the trash and I have a monitor. If it’s a 2011 Mini, I can even use my current RAM chips.

Actually, the donating idea makes sense. I mean, a lot of us waits to See your version of TROS to have a respectful ending of the saga.

So, I watched the IV (cause its my favorite arc in the TCW) and Its in general a nice and enjoy Able experience.
Though, i think you d have to work on the opening crawl. In my opinion, if its too difficult to do (i imagine it can be), maybe think about other possibilities, like Solo / RO Type of crawl or even the 2003 CW Type of opening?

And I find the transition a Lil bit off, i think you could still work on them as well 😉

As always, i think u did an amazing work. I consider it even better than your TCW edits because of less fillers. I thought u left too much in those edits. Here, i think u found a Perfect balance.

One issue though. I dont like the mandalorian logo on the opening crawl. Doesnt feel Star Wars to me. I think I should have l eft a classicAl SW logo with a subtitle.
