About Solo, there was a kind of opening crawl there, but not the classic one. Actually, I think it would work veeery well in the Mandalorian. And It would Save you a lot of work actually 😄

For me the color of the opening crawl Doesnt look Star Wars at all. It should be a classic one on my opinion, especially that the effect u want to achieve is to have a theatrical SW experience

I personally think the Best Way to introduce Bens spirit would be doing that in the novelization Way, i mean, by the ghost saying something like “I will always be with you” blah blah. But we would need someone to make a decent dub of it.

As crazy as it sounds, maybe Kylo Ren slaughter in the Forest could be reused then as Endor? The fire could be explained as l, u know, battle field, FO slaughtering 🤷‍♂️ or Just a flashback. Damn, this sequence is Just too cool to be cut 😅

Well, the Mustafar opening is Just an awesome scene, but both possibilities look great. Maybe you would consider realeasing versions of the film with two different openings?

Or maybe the scene on the Mustafar could be somehow reused as a flashback or something? I know its not crucial to the film, but its Just Such a badass scene 😉

I was So devastated when I left the Cinema in December, but all those amazing work and ideas in this project make me believe I can actually enjoy the last Episode of the saga. Its incredible how Creative and capable you guys are.

Just some random ideas:
-anyone considered using some shots of Boba Fett or Mandalorians from “the Mandalorian” Just to make it even more fanservice epic scene? 😉 its probable they still live by the Time of those events.
-maybe some additional audio from Star Wars audio dramas? There are plenty of that there, like Xwing pilot ls standing by etc. Maybe even some additional dialogue from the Emperor (though I know Nick Jameson Doesnt sound So much as Ian)

I would love to See it as well 😉

So, when / if English subtitles for this edit comes out, or any subtitles, I d be glad to conTribute and do a Polish and/or Spanish translation 😉

Just a random thought:
Why dont we do some movie premiere watching together when the fanedit comes out via some streaming with chat? 😀

I’ll try to do Spanish for ROTJ that I’m trying to get out the door, and the others sometime later.

I’ll be sure to do Spanish subtitles for this and future releases, and go back and do them for ANH-TLJ. The work and syncing is done, as I can mirror the English subtitles’ timing to the Spanish ones. It’s not rocket science but requires some time and attention.

Maybe I could help with some Spanish / Portuguese translation I think 😃 and maybe my native Polish

About Rey meeting Poe, i wouldnt consider it a set up necesarily. For me its Just the moment they finally meet After first 2 films. Its like “finally”.
I m also wondering if its possible to change rebuilding the Rebellion into rebuilding the Republic 😉

About the ending, did you consider maybe using the idea from the other thread, with the gang being on the Falcon playing chess (from the beggining of the TROS)?

I still havent watched the fanedit So Just out of curiosity, where did you introduce the flashback? 😃

Anyway, i Just rewatched TLJ yesterday and yeah, i think this movie could actually work better as the Last Episode than TROS. So much.

Your first two suggestions I had kept in when first showing friends and they just didn’t quite work for me, though I may still try to reincorporate some of the last Kylo scene in V2.

The chess idea sounds good and I’ll see how well I can get it to fit!

Im wondering if it would fit well some where when Leia is doing her force Superman flight in space. Like Quick flashback and then she wakes up in space and fly.

I don’t think there’s really a natural place to use that footage with the way I have the film cut right now.

The purple lightsaber I’m considering. Not entirely sold. If someone could do it in this specific shade of purple I might use it though.

Coruscant for the celebration I’d love to use but I haven’t seen anyone do it yet. I’m also curious about the conference room scene taking place in Coruscant’s orbit but again I don’t think anyone’s done it yet.

As for other things, I’m keeping tabs. I’m not a big fan of the visual Force ghosts but I kind of like the idea of seeing flashes of them in the wide shots only. I do kinda like the idea of Ajan Kloss being Naboo, and I go back and forth about the tank of Palpatine clones.

What with all these people doing VFX shots, I should probably go back and see if I had any crazy ideas I wanted that might be accomplished that way.

Have you considered maybe using some pieces of the Kylo/Vader fan film? Like for eg. You mention in the opening crawl that Kylo Ren is trying to find this Fleet. So it could be some kind of His vision After touching Vaders helmet in which at the end he hears Vaders voice saying Mustafar or something. Then he knows where to go next. It could make His journey longer.

This edit helps cement the idea that these people are a family now, instead of Rey being completely alone on a desert planet at the end. Her friends are there waiting for her : )

It also helps explain why BB-8 is there, he’s just a curious little friend : )

I’m gonna join everyone else in saying that this is an amazing idea! This and the new shot of the Falcon leaving really help emphasize that Rey isn’t staying on Tatooine, making the ending much more satisfying.

Combine this with DomCobb’s rescore idea and the ending would basically be perfect in my opinion.
