Holy coincidence, Batman! I just got a copy of this on Discovision, (Laserdisc's early rot-plauged incarnation) but haven't tried it on the old gas-tube player yet to see if it will play without any dropouts. I'll let you know.

If you need help with that, I also have a Gas-Tube Sylvania branded Pioneer Model VP7200 that is one of the better players for DiscoVision discs. I hereby offer my services.

Never Say Never, Sean: The Double-0-Heaven Cut. This is a re-edit of the 1983 rouge Bond, which presents the original film with all the familiar EON 007 movie motifs including the famous gun barrel introduction and a pre-titles sequence.

Hmmm. "Never Say Never, Sean: The Double-0-Heaven Cut" sounds awfully similar to my project, "Never Say McClory Again".

Perhaps someone has re-edited my re-edit. If this is so, can someone let me know. Naturally, I don't have a problem if there is a re-edit as anyone can do so. But if it's essentially my soundtrack work with only a few slight changes, I don't think it's appropriate to change the title of the piece.

cheers.

Having just aquired this disk. I can tell you this. It says this in the credits menu. Never Say Never Again SE. (aka: Never Say McClory Again) It has the producers name and the type of equipment used and on the bottom it reads
Version 3 January 2006 with a link to ohmss-007.com at the bottom. Is that your disc?

I have created a cover for this disc but I need help in posting the image.

This is perhaps the most faithful adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel ... far more so than Coppola's film. This was briefly available but to my knowledge, remains OOP and is very difficult to find.

Edit: Oh, and silly me, I forgot Jean Shepard's four "Ralphie" films that appeared on PBS' American Playhouse. These are more stories about "Ralphie" from "A Christmas Story" at different times in his life. One of them, "The Great American Fouth Of July ... And Other Disasters" stars Matt Dillon as Ralphie in his High School years. The four films are:
The Phantom of the Open Hearth (1976)
The Great American Fourth of July ... (1982)
The Star-Crossed Romance of Josephine Cosnowski (1983)
and
Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss (1988)

Look 'em up on IMDB for details.

I have Jean Shepard's America series from PBS.

It won't happen any time soon, I know, but that's my dream fan edit!

It is up on myspleen now. Maybe some one will take it and clean it up.

Help Wanted: 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' Laserdisc Footage - censored scene

I suspect Disney, Not NBC. The fact that NBC was asleep at the switch Saturday and let that segment run means that the re run most likely would have that part cut out and more commercials added. Just a prediction.

Did you put that up on youtube? If so, would you post it some where where it can be down loaded? youtube uses macromedia flash and that is not condusive to being copied

I could kick you too for this!

"I just tripped over my VHS copy I made of this off of Showtime. I'll be Burning it DVD tonight. The print is a little dark though."

Is it widescreen?

I remember someone here had a widescreen version of "The Keep" on DVD, but I never heard from him again. I got the P&S LD off of Ebay, but I've not had a chance to watch it.

Sorry I missed your question, No It is not widescreen.

Regarding the Roger shorts: the last one, Trail Mix Up, contained a "Rugged Tools" (or "Ragged Tools") joke with a woman straddling a chainsaw (as Roger flied past to save Baby Herman from the saw mill). On the UK VHS, the background was all "mushed up" so that we couldn't see the poster. On the original CAV LD (which I have), the poster is clearly there.

I'm not sure which one is on the Vista DVD, but a part of me thinks it could very well be the "uncut" version.

No the poster is blurred out in the Vista version also. The reason for this was a complaint from Rigid Tool company. Rigid (a subsidiary of Emerson Electric at the time) claimed that Disney infringed on their copyright of the Rigid Tool calendar. Which is kind of ironic since Disney is so protective of their own copyrights. Rigid Tool Calendars were somewhat of a cult item and are collectible. I have a few Rigid calendars, one of which has Patty "Apollonia" Kotero of "Purple Rain" fame, posing for June 1984. She is in a simialr pose as the one of Jessica Rabbit is in for the poster in "Trail Mix Up". I would like to find a clear capture of the original scene from "Trail Mix Up" to play around with in a graphics program. I would like to try and make a mini poster of the of it.

***//BUILDING EMPIRE\\: PAL & NTSC DVD - NEW EDITION NOW ONLINE! ***
Time
I just downloaded Building Empire and I am going to make one change before I burn it to disc.
I hate Real meadia files with a passion. I have never liked the way Real Media does things, this goes way back quite a few years. I converted the Real Media file of the Wampa Attack video that was in the video subfolder in the DVD ROM folder to a standard mpeg file. I thought I would pass that along in case anyone is interested in that file so they can do the same.

Idea: 'Sci-Fi Buzz' from the old Sci-Fi Channel - preserved?
Time
Originally posted by: Arctor
I have 30+ hours of Sci-Fi Buzz and SF Vortex from the better days of SFC. That's the good news.

The bad news is space and money limitations meant that I recorded them off-air onto VHS at SLP, the 6-hour, lower quality mode. I recorded them (ususally) without editing the commercial breaks, so there's bound to be some goodies in there, too. The shows include many of Harlan Ellison's commentaries, the John Carpenter commentary regarding "They Live", lots of Bob's Basement, etc. The SF Vortex episodes include J. Michael Straczynski's appearance.

I also have several hours of FTL Newsfeed, the one-minute newscasts from 150 years in the future SFC used to run during commercial breaks.

I do not have a capture card yet, but one is in my not-too-distant future and I have lots of VHS that's getting the preservation treatment. I'm still on the fence between an MPEG card (to generate DVD-ready MPEG) or an analog-to-DV card, which would allow for many more editing options, but would mean re-encoding to DVD-ready MPEG. I tend to want the option to edit more freely, but would welcome opinions on the matter.

I volunteer to help with the transfer. I have a bit of experience doing vhs tapes to dvd. Turn on your PM.
