Take issue all you want, but your opinion is your own.
Yes, it is. How many times have you read where I took issue with someone else's opinion? How about when I told someone their opinion was wrong? Here, let me help you with the answer - that would be none.
I posted a cereal box and pointed out the stickers you could get in 1977. I didn't post a cereal box and say "look, here's a cereal box - it proves that the PT is shit".
My dislike of anything after Star Wars is not me insulting you or your opinion. In fact, it has absolutely nothing to do with you. You aren't Star Wars - you don't get to speak for Star Wars - you don't represent all that is Star Wars.
For some reason, every time I make a post and mention something positive about Star Wars 77 - here you come, blathering on about how I haven't given the PT the respect it deserves or considered all sides of the issue, etc.
Sunday, I don't care about anything that came after Star Wars. That really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
I have definite views on the PT alright. However, if you'd bother reading anything I've written the last few years, you would see that it's really just the lies Lucas tells about writing the last five films and what little I know about the storyline of the PT. For me to be able to "crap over" the PT with any credibility, I would have had to have seen them all. I haven't. I've seen only Phantom. I can't criticize - or even participate in - PT discussions, because I don't know what anyone's talking about.
I happen to enjoy all 6...

I read elsewhere that the talesofthenewrepublic webiste did have a hidden email link on it yesterday. The email address was a gmail one, so people are speculating that this must indeed be a fan made project. Having said they there are some answered questions:
- If this is unofficial, why haven't LFL come down on them like a tonne of bricks?
- Why do Gentle Giant list their maquettes as "Star Wars Animated"?
- Why can't I just wait until tomorrow?

Sunday actually sidetracked my fucking post before it ever got started because he sees battles where there are none. Man, I just thought the cereal box was interesting.

Why can't people accept that he said it, and in some ways I agree with him, cause I think most Comic Book movies are silly, and there really isn't much story there, but in the same respect, Lucas did the same shit with the PT movies, and that is the whole irony of the quote! He is pretty much saying that the movie lacks any serious depth to it, and shouldn't be taken too seriously, and again I agree, but when we had a trilogy by Lucas that featured Jar Jar Binks, Jake Lloyd, Anakin/Padme AOTC romance, and Padme losing the will to live, I think Lucas should rename the backstory to the OT, "The Silly Trilogy."

I think the two most memorable moments for me are...OT Luke looking at the sunset in ANH. And the death of Shmi in AOTC. Some of you may think otherwise about the latter, but I was severely touched and shocked at that moment in the theater. It was handled very well I thought. So no, I don't believe they're necessarily watered down.
I'm not posting to convince you that you're wrong, I'm posting to let other PT fans know that not every OOT fan looks negatively towards the PT. I don't feel the need to convince you all that you're wrong, nor do I feel the need to defend how I feel about the PT. I enjoy all 6 films and honestly that's all that matters to me. Feel free to debate on, I think I've expressed my feelings about as well as I can and hopefully everyone can accept what I have to say sincerely.

I'll agree to some extent that ROTJ and TPM are a bit soft and gooey when it comes to pandering, for the simple reason that Jar Jar and Ewoks have this way of grating an adults nerves, but I don't find that with AOTC or ROTS. Now, there may be some really pathetic dialogue in both of those movies, but that's no different than any of the other movies...even the actors will agree.
I'm just tired of hearing the same old hatrid of the prequels from older fans. Just like Anchorhead's post before me, I don't think they should be speaking for me either. I enjoy the prequels, perhaps even more than the OOT. At 37 years old, I can still look back at the stop motion animation of the taun-tauns and cringe, or get entirely dragged down by the pace of ANH, or wishing those ewoks were wookies. And don't think for a moment I don't have qualms about the prequels because I do, but I don't let my qualms get in the way of enjoying all 6 movies like many here do. And I think that's a shame that some people will never just relax enjoy the prequels. They've got to constantly complain about how bad they are and try and convince others that they are crap.
And no, not everyone feels that way. And I'm not trying to lump everyone in one big boat. But from what I've seen that's how a lot of older fans feel. I'm just not one of them.
Yes, I'm an OOT fanatic, otherwise I wouldn't be here. But I'm also nostalgic for the PT, and yes even a fan of it. I simply enjoy Star Wars - all 6 movies.

As an adult it's easy to find fault in what essentially should be a children's movie.
