I like this idea a lot…I always hated that scene of Rey lifting the rocks with such minimum training as its just makes her look so OP with no explanation. I always wanted an edit to appear as if Luke is lifting the rocks and not Rey. However your idea ties into TROS themes so it’s a lot better.

Thank you Poppa for creating the TLJ we should have had in the cinemas on release day.

I personally plan to wait for a TROS edit and I hope to marathon Hal’s TFA, Poppa’s TLJ and TROS on May the 4th (if its available).

Please don’t remove Rey force pushing Finn as it’s a actually quite an emotional moment in that scene.

Can we convince Poppasketti to incorporate it into V3 before it goes live in 24hrs?

It shifts some things around and provides a framework for how a potential fan edit could look. I’ll start with the first chapter:

• She proceeds to run the training course, but completes it without having any force visions (struggles to fight off the red training remote but due to impatience)
• After taking down the remote she has force vision…
  • jungle fades away and (Sith) whispers fill her ears
  • First image is of Kylo Ren attacking robed figures with his lightsaber (probably the sequence we get on Mustafar)
  • Second image seems to be her standing alone in front of the monolith on Exegol
  • Flashes of Luke, Kylo, Han’s hand on Kylo’s cheek, Rey’s parents flying away from Jakku
  • Finally, a voice in her head saying “Exegol” and an image of the Sith throne, first empty and then with her
    sitting on it
  • Vision ends and Rey helps BB-8 out from under the tree

Thoughts and feelings? I like that it begins the movie with Rey and Leia and then introduces the antagonist with less obvious footage and mystery (i.e. not immediately seeing Kylo and Palpatine interact).

I like the idea of some of the scenes almost being a force vision Rey has. This could work in an edit.

If the ship is going to be different in the flashback why does Ochi’s ship even need be in the movie. Could it be completely removed in the edit?

Now, according to the novelization, Rey’s father was a failed clone of Palps body which Palps conciousness rejected when he was thrown down the shaft of the DSII by Vader. The failed clone lived on to make a life of his own, hooked up and Rey was born. So now things are just getting super weird and convaluted.

The less we hear about Rey parents in Ep9 the better. Best to continue with the TLJ plot line and keep Rey Nobody and deadbeat parents as is. IMO the whole Rey and Palpatine grandkid dynamic just doesn’t work. I understand what they were going for, but the execution of it was a failure.

With the incredible editing Poppa has been doing with other scenes recently he could probably fix those issues in the 3rd lesson deleted scene 😜.

The edit sound amazing and I have not watched a single episode of GoT. Could I possibly get a PM to the GoT movie edits (I, II & III)

Hey Poppa, have you ever considered adding in the deleted scene of Rey’s third lesson from Luke? As Luke mention three lessons but we only see two. A few TLJ edits have brought it in and I think it works quite well.

Also, what is everyone feeling about the lesbian kiss at the celebration near the end of the movie? Is this something that will be on the cut list? Did it feel forced and out of place for a Star Wars movie?

I was thinking the same thing. There is a 1min trailer on Youtube for the home video release and I feel like there is new footage in it. But it could be my imagination as I only saw the movie once and that was 2 months ago.

Also, don’t forget Batman v Superman got an extended edition two months after the release of home video. The same thing could happen with TROS.

There have been discussions of using the Duel of the Fates theme during the Rey and Kylo lightsaber fight on the Death Star wreckage. Is this something you would consider adding to your list?

With Rey being a nobody does this mean she no longer takes on the Skywalker name? When Rey is on Tatooine at the end and the old hag asks Rey for a surname she says “Just Rey”. This would mean a movie title change as well.

For Luke to show such drastic behavior of murdering his nephew in his sleep I would have thought the vision he witnessed was something very personal to him. What I would have like to have seen in Luke’s vision is Kylo killing someone he loved deeply like his wife such as Mara Jade or a daughter. I feel having this personal connection of someone he loved deeply would have been enough of motivation for him wanting to murder his only nephew in his sleep.

I vote for option 2…

hey poppasketti, have you seen the edit Chase Adam’s is doing with changing the “parking on the beach” scene in Canto Bite to something less comical. Is this something you would consider for the V3 if the change looks good?

Well, BB8 is thrown out of the casino so maybe there is a strict “no droids” policy in the casino’s in Canto Bite and it’s enough of an offence to send them to jail.

I agree with StarkillerAG. Have the two versions only, no need to overcomplicate it.

I would also like to see the Luke Matrix removed as a Non-Palpstine edit.
