Great news indeed! So, soon we'll have the "correct" SW Cinema DTS tracks, right?

If you are in no rush - I imagine it will take a while to finish Alien first - I'll be able to capture the Criterion LD, sooner or later...
I thought it was my old monitor, but indeed it seems that the LD office shot is too green/yellow... I have the Criterion BD LD, but first I should locate it... (^^,)
Supposedly, the MUSE LD have the same CDS remix; but instead of 5.1 DD 384kbps, it has uncompressed 4 channel 15bit 32Khz PCM track... which *could* sound better in some ways than the DD counterpart... or not?
Still missing the "Lamborghini" laserdisc player (Pioneer HLD-X0)... maybe in the future I'll win the lottery! (^^,)
OK, let's stop here, we should not derail the thread - sorry dvdmike, forgive me... and, of course, offer is real!
Poorer than before, for sure... (-^,)
Of course... just forgot to mention that I got one (actually two)...
The MUSE LD has also a MUSE 4 channel audio track; as I have the right audio decoder, if someone would like to buy and send me both the MUSE decoder and T2 LD, I'm ready to capture the latter! (^^,)
Disclord sadly left this world... we will miss him!
R.I.P. Disclord
To whom it may concern... Halloween [spoRv] is on tehparadoxicalforum, thanks to the help of a very good friend (thank you!!!)

Sorry, my bad, haven't noticed it... well, do you think it sounds like the NTSC version(s) by the way?

Nice job! Video quality is greatly improved, and, given the source, I think it's impossible to do better.
...I thought it to be too good to be true! (xx/)
As I stated in the list of my future project, LOTR trilogy is one I'd like to do, even because the Italian audio track on BD has the wrong pitch, where the DVD got the right one.
I have a very good idea to recover almost all the image quality, at least in the scenes present in both EE and TC, but frankly I'd like to make further testing to be sure I could make a good job - because it will take so many time, and I'm still stuck with this tiny monitor...
kk650 made a very good job with it, but my project will be a bit different: the mission will be to replicate as close as possible the DVD color grading, using the BD as source (and also HDTV, if necessary).
Well... color regrading the EE using the TC as color reference...
Mmmhh... what if... you know... (-^,)
So, the extended edition has no (or low?) EE and DVNR, while the color grading is different from the extended DVD, right?
As there are several BD editions of the trilogy, I can't remember which one has EE (Edge Enhancement) and which not... IIRC the extended edition has EE, while the theatrical cut not... am I right?
The Mother control room scene is a bit too saturated IMHO, but the BD is too pale - maybe something in between should be tested.
The Ash head scene made me think... as you wrote, Ash's top of the head is blue also in the BD, plus his shirt is not so pale when he is still "alive"... the BD seems to have the most natural color grading, but this should be not considered the "right" one... watching the 35mm frames, the LD it closer than the other ones, even if LD tends to blue and 35mm to green, but the others tend to be white.
(because I'm not using the usual display, and colors here are what they are, please take these notes with a grain of salt...)
Little update: I'm still working on the IT subs, now I'm around 30% - harder than what I remember (I've done the same for The Lost World: Jurassic Park project)... it's really time consuming, and the fact I'm forced to use a small LCD doesn't help... but I'll try to finish it ASAP, because I feel the urgency to release this project!

Based off the screencaps you've posted I think you're off to a great start. I think grading is one of those that you develop an eye for the more you do it so stay at it, what you're doing here looks very promising indeed. :)

When in doubt, go with your gut and most important of all with grading, at least that i've found from my experience, of course take into account all the different opinions about how you should go about regrading this but ultimately when in doubt, go with what YOU like. Remember that when it comes down to it you are grading for yourself, creating a regrade that is appealing to you. Remembering that will keep you sane when all the different opinions leave you confused and conflicted, its impossible to make everybody happy. Keeping that in mind has certainly helped keep me sane in the past haha
100% agree! One of the best first attempt of a fan restoration - mine was a half disaster in comparison...
LD TOC (table of content) should have chapters, just like a CD; so, probably without it, the CD-R won't make a sync rec.
Happy to know it works well! Maybe a newer laserdisc will work, as almost all discs with PCM have a TOC (AFAIK).
Bitperfect: just record a DTS laserdisc (two minutes will suffice), copy the .wav file from the CD to a PC, and play the file with a software player; if it plays flawlessy, it's bit-perfect, if not, maybe the file should be converted somehow (sometimes it's useful to change extension to .dts)... I did it in the past, and it worked, but honestly I can't remember what I did exactly - you know, I'm a grumpy old man! (-^,)
